You might have encountered Riichi Mahjong in the Yakuza series, by watching the Akagi or Saki anime, or you might have seen your favorite VTubers from Hololive or Nijisanji playing. The rules are virtually identical whether you're playing in Yakuza, FFXIV, Mahjong Soul, Tenhou, or Riichi City.

24:00 if you’re genuinely folding, the west winds should be pretty safe, although they are Dora tiles. One is in the wall, you’ve got two of them, so they can only have a single west wind and then a pair wait - that’s unlikely, no?

folding in south 1is probably the wrong move even if it's a sanity saver. at some point you have to risk dealing into someone else to try and land a whale (and you had one on the line). can't blame you for trying to get into 1st in south 4, but after the first hand you probably should just try to win fast rather than over-index on getting a big enough hand. the 5/7/9 shape makes it awkward but once you pair up i would just try to win off the 8 which is decently likely to come out.

32:25 Honitsu takes time to build, you could just discard the dora tile here. You can deal into big hand sometimes, but otherwise you just lose points for noten or tsumo.

Thumb spin is the way to go! Another tech if you haven't looked into it yet, circle locking for catching raid pokemon so you can guarantee excellent throws.

I honestly don't agree with folding in the south 1 hand, as you have two dora, one aka dora and pinfu. That's four han guaranteed as the dealer (11,600 points, 4 han 30 fu if ronned from other players, 12,000 points if won by tsumo, which is greater or almost equal than what left lord has, depending on whether they have a mangan or haneman. In addition, the hand you had could even be a mangan/haneman if you call riichi, and plus left lord cannot fold. If I recall the Daina Chiba's push/fold judgement, you have 2) high scoring hand, 3) good wait. (aka two conditions are met, so in my opinion, pushing was right).

Yu songgggg glad the tile karma is coming back to help you! But why are you holding all your honour tiles in south 4 if you're looking at sanshoku? Maybe riichi pinfu sanshoku 1 dora? That's enough as is, holding the honours slows your hand down if you're trying to go for the win.
