    For me 'Abbey Road' is their best album, the ultimate force of the best band, the best songwriters, of all times. The total eruption of music, as shown from Sun King untill The End is unbelievable. Nothing compares with this piece of Music.

    These pictures contrast sharply with the ones taken in 1962 where they look awkward and uncomfortable wearing ties for the first time. Here they have beds in the studio and are completely in charge of their own recording sessions. George Martin now works for them. Only 2 months after these sessions Lennon leaves the group. Thanks for posting Elena this brings back memories.

    I still say to this day, the four of them should have taken a year or more off recharge, let things settle down, recreate and produce their “ solo “ “stuff as a group. Could anyone imagine The Beatles doing George’s, Paul’s, Johns, Ringos stuff as a group. Phenomenal!

    • @ronniechilds2002
      @ronniechilds2002 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gotta admit, that never occurred to me, and it's a really cool idea. For example, George's tune 'All Things Must Pass' is a great song but Phil Spector ruined it, along with everything else on the album of the same name. The Beatles started it and never got very far with it. Would love to hear a completed Beatles version of it. There are a million more possibilities. Lennon is my idol, but his Rock and Roll album sucks. Those songs being played by the Fabs would have been excellent.

      Agree that would have been great. However I think their recording contract required them to have so many lps per year. Maybe a greatest hits album could have been released to fulfill that in 1970? I really think the pressure of being the Beatles got to them, especially John. He truly cracked up and was hooked on heroin and just went overboard on the Yoko thing. Who brings a bed in a studio lol? Honestly they never would performed live again and couldn't live up to the myth any longer. It was best for their sanity that they broke up when they did.

    After watching the documentary "Get Back" it's f'n surreal to me that they still went back to the studio just months later to record one more album, i know they were in good terms, specially after the rooftop concert, but George wanted to leave the band so badly but still, he recorded this album with them, so cool!

    Just think: What would humanity have been like if The Beatles had never existed? So, weren't all those who were teens and pre-teens at the same time that the Beatles were freshly releasing each single and album lucky? And aren't we all now lucky to be sharing in that joy with the most recent mixes of their music as well as the recently released Now and Then? The Beatles were and remain one of God''s great gifts to all of humanity. Who could deny it?

    I really thought Yoko had a bed for her during Let it Be sessions. That was when, in spíte of saying she could not move, she walked to a certain place where George had some biscuits and eat them. LOL. George got furious about it. Really furious, but not because she ate his cookies, but mainly ( his words) because it was not true she could not move. That bed inside de studio was not necessary at all. But it shows how she had managed to control John's mind. Too sad.

    So amazing to see these. Many thanks for posting them. Not only do we have photos of The Fabs, their guitars and amps, but it is heartwarming (to me, anyway) to see John and Paul around a microphone together, especially knowing the tensions between them all at this stage.
    Very interesting to me, too, that John's hands clasped together in front of his face when he is standing next to Paul at the mic. at 2.55 suggests that this may be the vocal for 'Come Together' (although Paul would not necessarily have to be their for that).
    It is also so interesting to see THAT bed (and to see Linda and Yoko on it at one point). From the description I have read and heard over the years, I had thought that it was a lot bigger.

      Yoko had medical issues and John was afraid to leave her alone. She had a few miscarriages and it frightened him. They wanted a child. John e ven went to a Chinese doctor in SanFrancico, he told John, no stimulants, no drugs, you will have baby. They listened and got beautiful little Sean, blessing for them.

    I did not know these pictures. I am really happy and excited to discover them. They show a group still united - for a very short time - and especially very involved in the realization of their work. I really like the one where Paul and George play together, very close to each other.
    Do not forget that at the time of recording John had not yet announced to the other 3 that he wanted to leave the band (he will do just before the release of the album at the end of September 1969) and in everyone's mind, at the time of the photos, this is a new album of the beatles, not the last ...

    The abbey road recording sessions contain very few photographs of the Beatles performing compared to their previous studio work. It is a shame but perhaps because of the enormous amount of filming of them during the Get back/Let it be sessions in Jan 1969 maybe they preferred it that way.

    Hola Elena, You know, I truly believe Paul McCartney's most fruitful year as a Beatle and composer was 1969! My favorites we're - Get Back, Two Of Us, Let It Be, The Long And Winding Road, Teddy Boy, Every Night, Goodbye, Oh! Darling, You Never Give Me Your Money, Golden Slumbers, The End, Come And Get It! But, that was also the year Paul McCartney, reintroduced "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" for consideration and inclusion on the
    Abbey Road album. Let me say that at that time I began to become critical about McCartney's judgement in including such throwaways on Beatles albums! Quote by GEORGE HARRISON ~ "Sometimes Paul would make us do these really fruity songs. I mean, my god, Maxwell's Silver Hammer was so fruity." Raul.🙂

      @@raulmacias1311 To me this proves why Paul was probably the most valuable member of the group. He's the reason the Beatles were so dynamic and their songs are so diverse. John and George weren't as open minded to different genres. If they didn't have Paul, they probably would have wrote all driving rock songs. I think they came up with songs like Here Comes The Sun, Something, Julia, Across the Universe, and Because from being influenced by McCartney.

    • @raulmacias1311
      @raulmacias1311 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Live Free Or die There's a difference between influencing a song and changing a composition to suit himself as John Lennon was reported to have accused McCartney of always doing. John has said, in the past, that he preferred to work with George since he wouldn't impose his ideas on John and tweak his songs like on She Said She Said. George helped John piece that great song together. George said "it was a real weld". Paul is not on that song. George would take John's songs as is which John very much appreciated.

    • @nicholasmaxwell9899
      @nicholasmaxwell9899 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@raulmacias1311 You have to take everything John said with a grain of salt. He also said that when you look back on their discography, he was right there with Paul making lovey dovey songs. Paul wasn't quite as pushy as you're making him out to be. It just came out that way because John and George weren't nearly as ambitious as Paul was. John had absolute power over all of his songs. He willingly let Paul help him on his songs because they got it done easier that way. My point is that Paul is the main reason their music is so diverse. The others were inclined to write driving rock songs. They ended up switching their styles more because Pauls influence rubbed off on them.

    WOO HOO! How fabulous were the Fab Four without any vocals? Here's the proof in an unrealized 1969 Abbey Road Session...

    Great, rare photos. Did not realize Paul was back using the Rick in mid-69. Thought at that point, since they the Let it Be sessions, he was as back using the Hofner.

      I had my suspicions bc I had his same Rickenbacker with dots on the neck and, in playing mean Mr mustard, oh Darling and others, I noticed that they sounded quite the same as in the Abbey road album

      Buy Beatles Monthly magazines that came out in the 60s on eBay, plenty Abbey Road pics by the bucket. Only the magazine photographer was allowed to take pics there. The magazine was a fan mag. Get them on eBay, not expensive at all or buy a whole set at once.

      I have a lot of the Beatles monthly’s from the 80s . They have a lot of the same photos as the 60’s issues but not many from Abbey Road . If I remember correctly Beatles for sale up to the white album seem to have the most photos .

    I've been looking for pics from the Abbey Road sessions since it came out in 1969. They were nearly non-existent. Now we have these, including the post John/Yoko car accident with Yoko in bed in the studio, George on Clapton's Les Paul, Ringo with the " tea towels" over the drums to muffle, and a bearded Mal Evans . Rare pic of Linda and Yoko together. Paul and John with their sanded off finish guitars as all 4 in the studio together for their lasr recorded swan song phenomenal album. Holy Cow!!! Elena has the rarest Beatles photos. How does she do it? Thank you Elena!!;-)

      It is so obvious in these photos that George wants OUT. He looks miserable and seemingly just performing a job to get it done. As it turned out, that wasn't far from the truth.

      The Höfner bass(es) is the most public. But the Rickenbacker was the one used the most, by far, from the Rubber Soul sessions onwards.

    Allō Elena, Here's some more quotes by "JAMES PAUL MCCARTNEY" regarding the recording sessions for "Abbey Road." Topic, "SHE CAME IN THROUGH THE BATHROOM WINDOW." Quote by PAUL MCCARTNEY ~ "This forms part of a medley of songs which is about 15 minutes long on Abbey Road. We did it this way because both John and I had a number of songs which were great as they were but which we'd never finished." Topic "GOLDEN SLUMBERS." Quote by PAUL MCCARTNEY ~ "I was at my father's house in Cheshire messing about on piano and I came across the traditional tune 'Golden Slumbers' in a song book of Ruth's [his stepsister]. And I thought it would be nice to write my own 'Golden Slumbers'. Elena, Paul McCartney's Lead Vocal on "Golden Slumbers" is, in my humble opinion, his most emotionally powerful ever recorded! Au Revoir. Raul.🙂

      Golden Slumbers is one of my absolute favorite songs of all times, absolutely beautiful, poetic, tragic and emotional. I only wish it lasted longer!

    Elena, some of these are only being seen thanks to your page. The Abbey Road summer session photos we'd waited decades for, why, we may never know, took until deep into the 2010s to come out. Some by Linda McCartney, at least one or two by Yoko, some perhaps by Ringo (of the women?), others maybe by Mal Evans, who knows. I wish I'd had a glimpse of these in the 70s. Would have looked great in the 'Beatles Anthology.'
