How to waterproof leather boots (cheap and easy)

  • How do I keep my leather boots waterproof? A question I get a lot for guy I hang with while out in the wilderness. Snoseal has been around since 1913 and is by far the best and cheapest way to waterproof your leather boots. You can even use it for all things leather.

    Yes sir, been using snoseal for years!
    My leather boots are my winter boots.
    After washing the leather, I use alcohol to open the pores, this makes the snoseal penetrate the leather easier (this is usually only once or twice a year), using the same process as you demonstrated!
    FYI: Neatsfoot oil is another good product, it's great for softening leather when the boots are brand new and makes the break-in process faster.
