Taiwan will return to the motherland. It will happen regardless of what the pre-eminent imperialist nations think. If the U.S thinks supporting separatism to destroy China is going to be a good idea then they better be prepared for what's coming because it will hurt them big time.

If you haven't been to Taiwan please go visit then you know how dirty Taiwan's politic is. Australia has no power to help Taiwan and did you hear anything about Xinjien's cotten problem from ABC? I did not, why not? because ABC was told shut up.
America never wanted to help Taiwan to defend, it is because America uses Taiwan card to bargain with China only. Australia futute is dim in Asia. American global leadership is about to collapse. Why? America spent all the money and resources to punish defence less countries. Something I would like to know is why the 2 five star American generals did able to win the war in Korea and Vietnam? You know there was no five star generals in Korea and Vietnam. And there was no Mordern military weapons in either countries. I can see the 5 eye die young.
I just can not see there is any future in 5 eye any one of the 5 countrirs.

Isn’t it now the best time for Taiwan
to shine and become a better version of Afghanistan?
Taiwan will not only be supported by the US
but also by the NATO, Japan and Australia.
The US will not only pay US soldiers to go over there
but they’ll also pay Taiwanese soldiers to fight in Taiwan.
Taiwan might be benefiting from US/NATO spending
of trillion dollars to go to war with China
      for direct war fighting
      for training Taiwanese army
      for annual aid for Taiwan
      for the Taiwanese soldier payroll.
So, Taiwan should keep beating the drums for another war,

Who got rich of arming the Taliban/ Afghanistan?
      US Boeing, Raytheon, Northrop-Grumman
      Lockheed-Martin and General dynamics
quietly raked in billions of dollars from the slow-motion fiasco
while the US taxpayers footed the bill.
The US not only paid US soldiers to go over there
but they also paid the Afghan soldiers MORE than US soldiers
      to fight there?
Total cost was 2.26 trillion dollars
      300 million dollars per day
spent on this war for 20 years.
      800 billion direct war fighting
      269 billion US veterans
85 billion train the Afghan army
5 billion a year per in aid for Afghanistan
750 million for the Afghan soldier payroll

Truth is Taiwan had chance to become fully independent 70 years ago and again in 1960s but they gave the chances away as they still thought they will regain control over Chia. Taiwan is still called Republic of China and it is still China (just small) and still dominated by Chinese from China. Taiwan should become independent but it will need to go back to native people of Taiwan not another Chinese.

Of course Taiwan would have a larger GDP per capita, all smaller states will tend to have larger GDP per capita based on the need to diversify their economies to support their country. Poverty in Taiwan is rife and their growth in terms of personal wealth is far less than that of China. They had support from Western nations all this time and have squandered it. The people in Taiwan overwhelmingly identify as Chinese and only the few brainwashed do not. As well, if you are looking at GDP, their GDP does not compare with municipalities in China like Shanghai or Guangzhou, so there is no argument here.

Fomenting war against other countries when there are domestic problems tends to be the sort of thing the USA and the UK do. China has no track record of doing that. Of course shows of strength by China on their borders are obviously not a pleasant experience but neither are shows of strength by the USA on China's borders halfway around the world from them, but I see no mention of that.
Who could be most interested in creating insecurity in the area? Probably the country that has been in an almost constant state of war since WWII, mostly against much, much smaller countries than themselves and generally not doing a good job of winning those adventures.
The armaments industry is the 2nd largest industry on the planet and 46% of that global industry is in the USA. 46% of the 2nd largest amount of money in the world can buy a huge chunk of the finest democracy and mainstream media money can buy including the radically war-mongering US foreign policy.
War-mongering is incredibly profitable for them but disastrous for most people, as witness the USA's shrinking middle class and growing pool of working poor and homeless and our mob are leading us down the same path. By comparison China, who have not been in an almost constant state of war for decades, have raised their population out of dire poverty, have a growing middle class and the fastest growing economy in the world.
Maybe it's time to give peace a chance, it seems to be economically streets ahead for the majority of people. But hey, feel free to keep believing the USA's war-mongering propaganda, it's your money they're stealing.

You means to have free speech, and to criticize, and able to throw eggs at president Macron and shoes at George Bush, discrimination, playing politics, fighting in parliament at the expense of the people, fake news press freedom and many more, your kind of democracy.
To be honest, there no perfect system that fits all and it is because of these mixes that makes the world what it is today.
Most importantly, a government must be able to deliver, ensure safety and security, provide infrastructure, affordable homes and employment, to progress and to achieve prosperity. Otherwise, it's all craps regardless types of government.

@@ericyeo805 well in that case Chinese communist party is definitely not up to the task. I d rather be able to criticise any wrong moves by the government and exercise my right to free speech and right to vote to get rid of any ill performing leaders like xi Jing ping out of office just like Donald trump was removed from office at the voters decision. How dangerous is it to allow one person total control of a country!

Fact remains that Taiwan is part of China according to its own constitution and passport, and under 1CP--One China Policy, is recognized as such by UN, US and every major country in the world.
China has no need to invade Taiwan and the hyped up threats of military exercises is nothing more than standard practice by any country within its sovereign territory. Therefore, the biggest threat to Taiwan is not mainland China, but their current govt under DPP taking direction from US to escalate tensions and push the boundaries of independence.

Many might not realise what a big thing this interview is. The CCP has tried to stop other places airing interviews with the Taiwan foreign minister, because it’s like a recognition of their sovereignty (in the CCP’s eyes). So, putting this interview on our national TV station is like giving them the middle finger. I’m super pleased this was done, it’s a small but significant step.

Taiwan is a legitimate country of its own Their people wish to remain Democrativ and they see interference from China as provocative and unwarranted.
China eyes Taiwan as a strategic island gor use by them i future planned wars and for now as a financial windfall since their policies on China are sending them broke and they need a new income stream from Taiwans lucrative computer chip industry, untapped oil reserves, abundant fishing grounds and educated people. For China this is all about money and lots of it. They could hardly care lesd about a little island like Taiwan but it is a flea on the back of China and they just want to scratch it yo show the 3orld they are the tough guys. Unfortunately for the rest of the world we are all trying to overcome Covid the apparent Chinese Bio Warfare weapon released on the world 2 years ago and few of us have had the time or the effort available to concentrate on China's expansionist policies. That is changing which is why there is a push by the communists to get something done now while the world is distracted
If we allow Taiwan to go under Asia will be lost and who will be next...Us

What democracy rubbishes. The real truth is how the government govern and conduct it's business that can brings progressive changes to enable her people to flourish.
There are many democracy that are failing throughout the world with poor and hungry people who scavenger at rubbish pits.
There are people who have no home and basically sleep on street with makeup shacks and litter everywhere including faeces.....even in USA, the mother of all democracy.
The rampant uncontrollable random killings making the place insecure and dangerous to move around freely.
All in the name of democracy?? No!! It's all about the government, the policy and the type of governing that's matters.
Nothing is static, everything is evolving with times and so, don't cling on to the past perpetually.
