  • Mount Robie Reid is a glorious peak which sits slightly higher than Golden Ears, but the route to the top is certainly more difficult as it involves going up and down a couple of times.
A group of 6 of us started at 4:45am and hiked up to the peak on Saturday, September 10th. We had breakfast just before the tarns and then scrambled up to the unnamed peak, the false summit, and the true summit. The scrambles were really fun, but they are exposed and tricky. The exposure is the main reason this peak is not too crowded. But everything was worth it as we came to breathtaking views of Golden Ears, Judge Howy Peak, and the Beautiful Stave and Alouette lakes.
Going down the scrambles was also quite fun and straightforward. We also had the opportunity of enjoying lots of blackberries and huckleberries on our hike back which slowed us down a lot on our way back. After the arduous task gaining about 500m of elevation, we reached our cars just after it got dark.

Great video. I did this hike climb 2 years ago and really enjoyed it. Your video brought back memories. Looking at doing Judge Howay this year.
