Yes. We had no problems with it on the Ram. We have the BulletPoint system installed on a 4Runner and Tacoma but don't have the tablet mount on those but no issues off-road with any of the other mounts. They are solid
Just installed one in my Ram 5500 yesterday. I like it but when I ordered a piece that works with Ram Mounts I guess I didn't understand what it really was and it didn't work for me so had to order yet more parts. Oh well, still a nice prodeuct.
Amazing mount! I got the dual like yours but its the adjustable grate version. 1 mag safe head and 1 tablet holder but i also got a 20mm to 17mm ball mount adapter so i could use my favorite mount attachments from amazon! For example i love this blue led mag safe wireless charger head and with the adapter i can use it!
I agree. I've had them on 3 different vehicles. My favorite is the Diablo D3 magnet phone mount. Works great for off road also and can video from the phone really well
I can't remember the footage we took from the Ram. It works great on my 4Runner and the Tacoma without issue. You can always get a longer arm if necessary to raise it up to clear the hood if it is in the picture too much
i guess i am confused why wouldn't you use the gps that is in the radio? what is the point to have the huge radio screen if its not usable? maybe a software thing dono. It just seems like a lot of stuff in the way of the windshield to me?
The tablet is not being used like the radio face for simple gps/directions. We use is with on X Offroad or Gaia Maps to download our routes to guide us when we are out where there is no service. Many times we preplan an offroad route and download it to the tablet. Also, it looks like its blocking the windshield with the angle of the footage, but when you are in the seat and adjust the arms where you want you accessories, it doesn't. As a matter of fact, because of the many ways you can position the arms, it is far less intrusive than a lot of phone holders I've seen people use.
@AZOverland2017 ah OK 👍 maybe some day we will have the ability to upload maps to our stock gps. Just seems crazy that's not already a feature for how expensive these nice rigs are. It does look sharp in there. I will agree there. Thanks for the reply.
It's recommended for stability but I would think it's not 100% necessary. If you ever remove the mount, that rubber insert from the factory would go right over that surface and cover anything up
This is the video I’ve been looking for. Ok so I’ve got a few questions. When ordering up this system does say the base an the Mounting balls come as one unit and then each arm say for the iPhone, a GoPro and Tablet all sell individually as well or can you order it all together? Also do you know if one can save money if ordering all together? Also I’m curious about how you run the power cords once you’ve mounted everything up there? I own a 2016 Ram Laramie 3500 and was wondering if there’s a way I could not have cords running over say my screen, dials and switches while out on the road. ✌🏽
When you ordering you have several choices from the drop down menus. There isn't a setup specifically like the one we have in the video. The closest is the base (Rubigrid) and 2 phone attachments and the GoPro mount as 1 kit. If you want the tablet mount, you will need to order separately. I have installed this on 2 other vehicles that I did videos on and my favorite phone mount is the Diablo magnetic mount. No messing around, just throw the phone up and adjust on the fly. You can order the base with that mount as a kit then add what you want as well. Regarding the wires, there are a few ways to deal wit that. If you can see in the video, we already had a magnetic mount on the left side of the screen. We just ran the cables around that and then down to the usb input. So, if you're creative, you can use something inexpensive and mount it on either side of the screen to keep your cables neat and out of the way.
@@AZOverland2017 ah yes the magnetic mount would be simple enough and easy to use. I use something similar on my motorcycle. It comes with rubber straps but there were times where I did not use them and my phone stayed put. I appreciate your feedback! I will be checking out your other videos for sure! ✌🏽
We sold the Ram last year. But, after using it I installed it on my 4Runner and the Tacoma. It is a great system with no complaints in any of the 3 vehicles. I did videos on those other installs as well. Solid and does what I need it to do. You can buy the Rubigrid mount and just add things as they come on sale or budget allows.
Yes. It is apparently a tool they give you to tighten the turn screw. We just did it by hand but if you want to really snug it down you can use that tool.
Am I the only one that feels like you stopped the video way too early and didn’t show any of the items mounted like for every day use other than that. Everything else was great, but I think the part we all wanted to see like it. Stability of it while the vehicle is in motion and going through trails or whatever just regular day-to-day driving and how it holds up that’s what we were kind of looking for maybe you could do like a update like a review like I don’t know how long you’ve had it by now but or your brother has had it but maybe you could do a review on it as to how well everything is holding up I know bullet point does make some really good stuff because I have it and I’m using it to hold two phones on my dash, but I’m looking to get the tablet mount and add it on that other arm but all the videos that I’m finding don’t show it being used for any significant amount of timeor actually in use like how you can position and all that other stuff but like I said other than that video was very informational minus that last part do a review for us. You got a new sub out of me.
@@Tarranttreeservices Yes. Just kidding. Thanks for your feedback. Seriously. We sold the Ram a while ago but have the Bulletpoint systems on both our 4Runner and Tacoma for quite a while now. I did videos on this as well and you can see some on the off roading we did on those trucks that show what we mounted while driving. Zero issues. My favorite is the Diablo magnetic phone mount. They said it's not suitable for off road, but my heat Pixel Pro phone stays up just fine on any trail
Dumb question, but im new in all this stuff..... Why do "i need" a tablet in my truck besides 12 inch screen already there... Dont take me wrong, why would be the propose of it.
This is my Rebel. Super happy with the quality and versatility.
Agreed 💯
The little "F" Shaped tool is for Tightening
The wing nuts that clamp onto ball for A more secure fit.
Thanks. Bulletpoint actually contacted me after seeing the video and filled me in. 😁
Is that tablet mount really going to stay in place off-road?
Yes. We had no problems with it on the Ram. We have the BulletPoint system installed on a 4Runner and Tacoma but don't have the tablet mount on those but no issues off-road with any of the other mounts. They are solid
Those little F shaped metal are used for tightening the mounting so that you can get that extra torque.
Thank you!
That’s what I was coming to say.

Ahh. Hope it works out. It's definitely a solid mounting system once you have all the pieces to the "puzzle" worked out
Well done 👍
Appreciated! It was pretty straightforward
Looks like really good quality.
It definitely is.
Very high quality. This mount is solid

Thanks, more stuff like this coming...
No need to remove the 4 screws from the grid to mount. I left them in and still had the grid installed in about 2 minutes with no issues.
Cool, thanks
Do you need to use the mounting tape since it has 2 screw mounts? I’d rather not put anything sticky in place.
It's recommended for stability but I would think it's not 100% necessary. If you ever remove the mount, that rubber insert from the factory would go right over that surface and cover anything up
Hi how is doing the system mount after this month’s ?
We sold this truck few months ago but have the BulletPoint mounted on our 4Runner and Tacoma. It is solid and still loving it!

Its been a year. How do you still like it? Ha soit held up? What are your pros and cons? I am interested in one, but man, they are expensive for sure.

Yes. It is apparently a tool they give you to tighten the turn screw. We just did it by hand but if you want to really snug it down you can use that tool.
What size arms are those?
The middle one is the Mini 1 cm and I believe the 2 outer ones are the Standard 7 cm.
The "F" could be a fun keychain also.
It would be nice if the arms were telescoping as well.
That would be sweet!
i feel like id get a ticket for obstruction of view, ive gotten one for a small chain hanging from rear view mirror.
Wow, that's pretty strict. The arms that hold the accessories are very adjustable. You can certainly angle them down to be level or below the dash.

It's great. When running an off-road map app. You can have the tablet dedicated just to those maps. Went off-roading and trying to find campsites

My truck has built-in wifi, and my passenger watches netflix, etc, on road trips. It works great
It has screws the double sided tape is pointless
100% necessary? Maybe not. However, I would think it certainly adds some stability to have more surface area " connecting".
Ridiculous
I was gonna say your channel name is AZ Overland, but your accent is Northeast like NJ or NY. Then I see the GPS on the tablet being New Brunswick!
Yes, I'm from NY originally. My brother now lives part time in NJ and PT in AZ. It was his tablet. Good 👁️
