Can you please talk with Insta360 PR to make pressure to activate 10-bit or HDR HLG?
10-bit requires a lot of changes and will drastically increase the price. And 10bit vs 8bit here on youtube, you wont see much difference after the compression.

Wow! This video is like all other Ace Pro videos. It's the first camera without any flaws. No disadvantages at all. Great

Well, disadvantages from this camera arent many in my experience, that would be: no 10bit, no Log, no replacable lens, minimum focal length is a bit big (i think 3 feet minimum distance) and not the best stabilization in optimal light conditions. Yes its way better than the others in low light, but funny enough in good light conditions the Osmo 4 will stabilize the footage a bit better. But thats about it, this camera is actually really good..
@@Driftuner thank you. That's what I mean with my ironic posting. Of course the Ace Pro is a great camera but it was so obvious that all TH-camrs which had the Ace Pro at the first release didn't talk about this points.

I think this Ace Pro can go along with DJI Osmo Pocket 3 very very well!
I want a camera for vlogging. I love the DJI Pocket 3 because of the track mode, but the low light performance of this Ace Pro is insane. Now I don't know which one should I pick.

I'm not an action guy. Last camera that I have is Sony WX200 pocket camera. I like the recording, pause, resume, cancel features, very convenient. Video quality seems to be fairly even. Large portions of many reviews are spent on low light. Since most old cameras are not good at it, I haven't cared about shooting at night. But it does look very good, perhaps I may begin caring. Clarity zoom is nice, added benefit, but basically cropping 8K to 4K right?, and sure, still makes for sharp video, so kudos to Insta360. Just my opinions.
Since most recommend shooting video in flat mode, which camera video is clearer with flat profile? Thank you, this is the best review that helps to make a decision on an action camera!
I’ve been eyeballing this camera for a few days. I gave my GoPro 7 to my nephew. Really never liked it much and thought its time for a new action camera. This looks like a lot of fun with great quality. I’m gonna order it. Thanks for confirming my feelings on this one

How can it be water resistant to 10m with a flip screen? The rubbing of the hinges on the seals eventually may compromise the water resistance. It seems a weak point that eventually fails. It would be appealing with a fixed screen and removable/replaceable lens protector glass.
It “seams” ye, but as a first take on a regular action camera its pretty competitive. And before drawing any conclusions on “faulty design” wouldn’t it be better to save that to when its actually been used at least a few months?
Dont get all this whine about the lens tho… for those wanting a removable lens cap, buy the action 4.
X3 has fixed lenses too, people buy that and use it in the same way as any other camera and sport…
This is their first “action camera”, and for what it is, they did a pretty good job.
@@RobHK before I would buy an Action camera and spend about 600 dollars, I would make sure that the camera does not leak. Insta360 could explain in their advertising and marketing how they achieved reliable water resistance and a hinged flip screen. Maybe the ribbon connector is all covered in silicone.
The removable lens protector glass is nice also because the GoPro uses one with a water repellent coating that help prevent droplets that may ruin the footage in water sports or rainy conditions.
As the hydrophobic coating wears out after a while, I can easily replace it for a very reasonable price.
Even if a camera has a larger sensor and higher image quality, the image without water droplets in the front is going to be the better one.
The Hero 12 is a bit of a letdown. But now GoPro hero 10 sells for 250 dollars with extra accessories. It seems a great deal for the money, with basically the same image quality as the 11 and 12.
The insta360 is better than the dji action 4 in low light. And 6k, 8k can allow high resolution stills from video. Which is good to have.
But as of now I use the GoPros without case up to 10 m underwater, no issues. But as I am in the northwestern Atlantic, the water at the bottom can be dim, so better low light performance is desirable.
Anyway beautiful location. Where are you in Norway? Been several times. One of the most beautiful countries I have seen.
I think you should buy a canon EOS R5 which shoots in 8K and compare it to the ace pro because I haven’t seen 8K footage from the canon side of the camera…
It’s a little bit more expensive but if you do it let me know.
The only thing I want to know is if the canon EOS R5 can overheat while filming and if the ace pro overheats in 8K not 4K
besides the non-removable lens thematic and that they removed it, my biggest long term issue with this camera would be the flip screen.
I am wondering why insta360 is marketing this as an action cam when any drop to the floor might either break the flip screen so easily.
It is def. a very nice vlogging camera especially if you shoot indoors / in low light but if you see it that way, many other compact vlogging cameras are way better.
As for „real“ action cameras that might get a hit or fall down from time to time Action 4 and Hero 12 are still unbeatable.

I would image it more as a do it all type of camera and especially for travel. If you could have only one then this would basically do it all and in a smaller package than competitors. Considering if you need to do vlogs, get a little big wet, travel, take a-roll or b-roll, and even night exploration and this can kind of fill every need basically. It won't be a master at everything but if you want a light package then this would be considerable. And if you think about more expensive options with flip screen you really have to be careful with them too (and most aren't weather or wet proof). Well just thought I'd share my perspective on its usefulness altho I could only wish i had one but i cannot afford it haha 😅
the lens is not removable, only a handful of the pre-production models.
Remember the RS One 360 edition with one inch sensors? I bought one when they came out.... Insta360's own marketing footage showed it taking action shots of vehicles and a dirt bike etc... When I had issue with my RS one 360 edition (1200$ cad at the time) they told me in writing: The RS One 360 edition is NOT an action camera??? Based on that they also denied my claim for a defective sensor later on and when I started commenting on my horrendous experience with their warranty service, they deleted my account altogether. No more proof. (screenshots are the best when a company does that kind of stuff)

Soooo based on that, If you're tight on money, do you really want to try dropping that super duper camera with a flippy screen and see if it will hold up? what if the contacts to the screen start going bad without a drop? What do you think Insta360 will tell you? "its not an action camera like a gopro sir... blah blah blah... Try it.
I don't really care about the money for my instance, I can live with it but, I cannot live with insta360's dishonest practices when is comes to warranty claims. So, I will call them out on it from time to time.

This Insta 360 Ace Pro should be compared to vlogging cameras like Sony ZV-1F or Canon Powershot V10. For Vlogging the most important thing is heating while recording in 4K. The ability to vlog while in the rain or swimming with the Ace Pro is fantastic!
Why didn’t you make same stabilisation for both videos at dark?
Stabilization is set to recommended by all cameras for low light

Yes you can. Quality is same as the gopro 12, maybe a bit better.

Removable lens would be nice, removal lens cover too, I saw a FOV comparison, and the I noticed the distortion. Has new firmware solved it? As a mountain biker I don't want any distortion. So possibility to remove distortion in camera or to swap lenses is a must.
An Insta360 that doesn't over heat is a start. Yes, I use one in the Arizona outdoors, constant heat and sun, but still.
Only where a overheating camera makes sense is during sub zero riding, as the heat keeps the battery run longer, and sub zero temps keeps the camera from overheating. A good winter camera is GoPro Session 4, probably 5 too. I ride in -10C so battery lasts only a few minutes, all batteries drain, so have to have them in my jacket near my body. Hero 7 does well in the summer. But not in the winter. @@FishPoint-WithJoeMichels
One more thing… I was thinking is that the reason I won’t buy an ace pro is because it’s 8 bit color grading. GoPro hero 12 and 11 have 10 bit color so instead of a couple million colors it is in billions of colors which means more detail. I wish 8K was in 10bit because it would win me over
Insta360's customer service is absolutely the worst I have had the displeasure to deal with. I own almost a dozen gopros (9-10-11) and I'm probably going to replace my three 9's soon. Guess what? Won't be an ACE Pro even if the specs make me drool! I earn a living with my action cameras and cannot deal with all the complications of dealing with insta360's horrendous warranty service... Having to ship a camera to the other end of the continent on my dime and waiting... waiting.... annnnd waiting... for a decision to be made is absolutely ridicoulous. With gopro, no problemo cameras replaced and decisions made within 24-48 hrs.
I might buy one just to see with amazon prime so if it's junk no hassle returns in 30 days,,,

It wont, has to be done with some internal changes which would increase the unit price with a lot. But the sensor alone + the ai chip weighs up for it with just as much dynamic range i believe.

Love the comments complaining about the lack of a replaceable lens cover. I’ve been using action cameras for over 12 years for biking, kayaking and underwater and I’ve never had to replace a lens cover. A lot of keyboard thrill-seekers worrying about nothing! If you actually break it, at least you’ve been using it! 😂

I’ve given my units very hard use for years and I’ve never damaged a lens, nor have my mates - that’s scores of units for over a decade. I suspect people are just jumping on the bandwagon - it’s social media & people do love a controversy! If you are extremely unlucky and crack one, Insta360 have said they’ll replace for free! #noproblem
If it's so unlikely why do Insta only offer to replace it if it gets broken in year 1 and they don't offer any solution if it's scratched.
@@gavindavis1300 My firefighter friend has changed his many times, since the heat melts them good, toasty. We all have friends who always crack their phone screens inside a year of purchase. Not all can or are as delicate with our gear like some of us. I have smashed myself to wakeboard jump pad multiple times, luckily never camera first. Same for snowboarding, many bails and once though I had damaged my screen on my X2, but luckily on the battery door took the damage. You never can know what happens in sports.
How is the touch screen responsiveness because the go pro's have historically been awful in this category

Depends on your use case, with that said how many have you scratched or cracked a lens cover? I have never damaged a lens cover even on a gp 8 and I know many people who use a gp 8 and never needed a lens replacement.

Polarizer and ND filter set available from Insta. Probably Freewell or even Insta, will come up with a UV/ protection filter.

I was leading towards the Action 4 and then this came out. Based on other reviews ahead of yours. This is the best camera for my needs at this time. I am done with GoPro. They started it, but then just relied on their name. DJI would have been the next option, but Insta360 just blew it away. Fast charging, great image, great software, cheap add-ons? Done with GoPro.

Get it out a bicycle night ride with a strong led light to mimic this . Only thing is motorbike naturally wont need as much stabilisation
