I was so mad at how easy I actually snapped this piece. I stumbled upon your site and figured might as well try fixing it, ordered it . The product shipped super-fast Your video was extremely easy to follow along with . Now my headphones are good as new !!
Hello Dennis, We’re happy you found us! Thanks for your order, taking a chance on repairing those headphones, and leaving some feedback on your experience. We hope to serve you in the future.
It worked! Thank you all so much for selling these parts, and making tutorials so we can replace them ourselves and save money. I’m autistic, and these headphones are really the only way I can even sleep in the busy college apartment I live in. Y’all are life savers, legitimately.
I tried. Thanks for putting this out there. The screws at 3:12 are glued in. I managed to get the top one out and the end 5-6 threads have some black material in the threads. I scratched through the wires embedded in the board trying to get the other one out... We'll see how it lasts with that scratched part. Thanks for your help.
You are the best. I thought my headphones were finished then I saw your video. I ordered the part and you sent it promptly. I took my time and followed your instructions step by step. As I removed the screws I put them in individual sandwich bags so I wouldn't lose them and numbered them 1-5 so I could replace them in reverse order 5-1. I would suggest that anyone doing this repair do it on a day off like I did so you can take your time and pause if you become frustrated. Remember you are working with plastic don't force anything and only tighten the screws until they are snug. I am really grateful thank you for posting this video.
I ordered a right hinge replacement from Central Sound. Super Fast ship. I followed this video and it worked out perfectly. I even got a hand written thank you with a smiley face on the packing slip. Stuff like that goes along way in today's business climate. I highly recommend this company. Thanks again!
Amazing follow along! I've had my headphones for 3 years now with heavy useage (I like them even just for the noise-cancelling so I wear them all the time), and the right hinge did suddenly break on me. I wasn't too mad considering how much use I've gotten out of them, but considering everything else still worked great, I'd much rather just replace the hinge (+earpads while I'm at it) then pay for a whole new pair. The video is also very easy to follow along with. Thank you! For anyone looking for short term fix: I used ducktape but made sure to go under the hinge and not just around. This enabled me to wear it, but couldn't tuck it way and the tape did loosen over time but lasted fairly well so long as you went under the hinge. It was an alright fix while I waited for the right hinge to be back in stock and ship to me.
I know this is a simple job but I found it deeply satisfying following along. Brilliant video with no annoying music and no hint of being patronised in the commenty. Thinking of buying and breaking everything on your list now. That said, I made one tiny boo boo... @5:20 the removal of the hanger. One of the scraw moldings cracked and is now unusable. I reassembled it anyway and it dose seems sturdy. I was thinking of glueing but that would prevent future repair. Any thoughts? Thanks again!
This video was a 10/10 on how clear it was which helped me repair this stupid issue by myself thank you! Originally I went to a few repair shops to see if they could fix this for me because I was to nervous but after countless repair shops not specialising in headphone repair I bit the bullet and ordered the parts and I'm so glad I committed to it. The amount of money I've saved because of this video is absolutely amazing and if your nervous judt think about the amount of money you will be saving. I think it's close to impossible to fail at this repair with how clear this video is 🙏🙏
Omg you are a lifesaver. My headphones somehow broke. I found this video and ordered the parts to fix it. I just followed along step by step. We are back in business! thanks so much!
Thank you so much :) I bought a replacement part from Sony's distributor for the entire headband and the semi-circle parts that click into the cups parts. This video was great for showing me how to get to the stage of taking those semi-circle parts on, and then putting everything back together. I'm also using the left video to help with this. You're a lifesaver!
Great repair video, successfully fixed my headphones hinge! It's crazy how easily they broke, wasn't being heavy handed with them in the slightest. One minor detail, at 12:30, the cable was pulled out further than it was before. Line up the brown dot with the first little crevice and the white dot with the last, so you don't have any extra slack in the cable. Use 8:20 for reference.
Great video and product!! My XM4s broke after just one year of use and I was not ready to let them go, especially considering the cost! I was able to fix my headphones using this video in about an hour total. I had trouble getting the black screws out and had to order a micro screwdriver set on Amazon. Once that came in, the rest of the video was super easy to follow and my headphones work great now.
Just got my order in today and fixed them within an hour!!! I am so glad I came across this video - Thank you so much! I use these headphones WAY more than I should be lol, i was down bad not having them for the past few days but they work good as new now! 10/10 service and video
Fantastic tutorial - thank you! I bought the replacement from you, all which was great - but this video was wonderfully easy to follow. I especially appreciate that you went step by step on putting it all back together! I don't have a ton of skill for this stuff, but having it go slow and steady was a great confidence builder. Bonus points for no background music!
I ordered from you 2 times and each time was a great experience :D. i just ordered the hinge for my Xm4 and im glad you sell those parts and provide instruction! even for people outside The us!,im glad you provide that service Update 3rd may: Parts arrived and Headset fixed!
I needed replacement blue gaskets as I snapped one of them by accident. I couldn’t find info on replacements, so If any of you want to know 4x1mm o rings fit just right for me, hope this helps.
Thank you, the piece I ordered from you just arrived. Thanks to this very well done video, I was able to repair my headphones myself, will 100% recommend you guys to anyone else I find with this problem.
I could cry im so happy w this vid and the replacement parts I bought from yall! these headphones have been a lifeline for me so when the hinge broke I was devastated cause I couldn't afford to replace them. Thank u! - an Autistic individual
Thank you thank you thank you, first ever self repair and you made it easy to follow along and get it done. Bought the clip from you and I’m more then happy to do so as you helped me install it. Can’t thank you enough, you saved me from getting another pair, much appreciated.
Worked like magic!!! Thanks so much!!! Much better than having to buy a new pair. I’m no engineer and don’t work in tech and it took me about 30mins to do myself. Great video!
I let my teenager borrow my XM4 for a roadtrip; baby sister gets a hold of it and throws them, breaking the hinge swivel. Saw some replacement pieces on amazon, but luckily I stumbled upon this video. Decided to order the part from Central Sound, so glad I did. I received everything I needed (make sure to order the tools separately), and I was able to follow this amazing video to fix it. XM4 are as good as new. Really appreciate your help!
I can't thank you enough for both the product and especially the tutorial, I'd already lost another pair of sony headphones to a similar issue and I would've been distraught if this new ( and substantially more expensive pair) was unusable for the same stupid reason. It was really tricky to repair as someone who's never done anything of the sort but the guide was quick and consise. 10/10 would repair again!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I ordered a right side swivel last week to the UK and it turned up so quickly. following this very clear tutorial, I've managed to repair them without having to buy a whole new pair! top results, thank you so much :)
Thank You Sir... You are doing the Lord's work. I am glad I googled "Broken Sony WH-1000xm4 headphones" before clicking the purchase button for a new set. Thanks again..
You're a legend for posting this! Perfectly shot, perfectly executed, I followed this step by step and now my headset's fixed! Thank you Central Soud, you're a g
What a wonderful fixing video! I just finished replacing the broken right Swivel part with a new one by watching your video step by step. Thank you so much!! :)
Great step-by-step breakdown & walk through! I was also able to successfully fix my headphones thanks to you. Such a small piece to make such an expensive pair of headphones totally obsolete. Very thankful for guides like yours to help us keep using them!
Ordered via Amazon a few days ago, and the part got here yesterday and I just now had some time to get it done. Video was great and easy to follow along. Thanks for the great product!
excellent, thanks. It is a lot of steps and a lot of screws. Note if you lose the screws - they might have got sucked in to the speaker magnet, ask me how I know lol. They work perfectly now.
Part ordered! Came in quick and thanks to your video I replaced it! Maaaan they have been broken for MONTHS and within a matter of a couple days I fixed them thanks to your company and video!
Thanks so much for this, very helpful. I think I may have damaged the white plastic on the component with all the coloured wires. After reassembly, at first, the right side had no audio playback. After opening up again and after a few more attempts at alignment the right audio came back. It feels like if moves at all I will lose the right side again. Is there anything I can do if this problem returns?
I just bought and installed the new swivel part. I watched the video through out the replacement - perfect guidance. It took me a little longer than I expected, but my headphones work again! @centralsound
Great video. Easy to follow along. After changing the part, my XM4's refuse to charge. I have a red blinking light when I connect my USB C cable. Anyone have any ideas what the problem may be? thanks!
Would the XM4 hinges potentially fit to WH720N ones aswell? There isn't a direct replacement part for the 720 hinges, so i'm looking for an alternative.
I seem to have stripped one of the screws on the PCB (see 3:10). Any advice on removing? I tried using rubber bands and a latex glove, but my screwdriver head went right through them.
Helpful video! Do you have any idea what size the screws are for the circuit board? My PC repair kit doesn't have s bit small enough and I want to buy the correct size. Thanks!
Thank you very much for the video and for the parts. I was really sad when my right hinge broke. It took me around 30 minutes to fit the part and now I am with my favorite headset.
Thank you so muchhhh !!! You guys have saved my headphones (ordered from Switzerland and I'm so glad I did cause I would have had to pay more than 100CHF which is crazyyy)
Thank you, Central Sound! I bought the replacement parts a few days ago and they came in today just in time for me to fix my headphones. This was the first ever repair I did on any piece of tech and the guide was super helpful. Though I am curious why the metal ring that goes into the swivel part looks a little different than the one in the picture when you click the link. Regardless, it's working great now so I'm happy. Thanks again!
any idea how to remove the end part of the headband for most headphones, my right ear piece broke off cleanly from the wire that goes from the headband through the swivel part and need to get more wire exposed in the band to solder new wires between the 2 for a stronger connection, my headphones are Sennheiser PC 350 SE
can the metal U piece be installed without removing and disconnecting the earcup? I have previously installed a replacement but without the u piece and would rather not fully dissemble the whole device aging.
On the 11 minute of the video, how can I get the boot that spins in circle. That part of my headphone set is broken. Got my earphone dangling. Where is this tech at? I'm in West Los Angeles, CA. Teach me something to be a better tech.

Hello Dennis,
We’re happy you found us! Thanks for your order, taking a chance on repairing those headphones, and leaving some feedback on your experience. We hope to serve you in the future.
Now I see why the MX5 was released so soon and was necessary! Mine broke just after 8 months and it doesn't look like it's covered under warranty.
It worked! Thank you all so much for selling these parts, and making tutorials so we can replace them ourselves and save money. I’m autistic, and these headphones are really the only way I can even sleep in the busy college apartment I live in. Y’all are life savers, legitimately.

My Sony WH-1000XM4 headphone's Left hinge swivel broke today! I've had mine for 2 years. Praise the Lord you sell parts 🙏🙌 Thank you 😭💗

Hi. This is a long shot but did anyone have trouble removing the screws on the board, and how did you go about it if you succeeded? Thanks.
My headphones “hanger piece” as mentioned around 5:12 snapped after a bike drove over it.. any ideas where i could order that part?
Thank you, the piece I ordered from you just arrived. Thanks to this very well done video, I was able to repair my headphones myself, will 100% recommend you guys to anyone else I find with this problem.

can u use the left hinge on the right and vice versa i just sourced one for the Right side will it work for the left side ?

I am awful at DIY stuff, but with the right tools and this video, fixing the right hinge swivel was super easy. Thanks for the guide!
Glad it helped!
You are a lifesaver. My swivel broke at the gym. Easy to follow instructions.
awesome, literally just fixed mine, took maybe 15 mins. thanks so much!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I ordered a right side swivel last week to the UK and it turned up so quickly. following this very clear tutorial, I've managed to repair them without having to buy a whole new pair! top results, thank you so much :)
You are so welcome! 🤗
are the hinge swivels identical for each side, can i use a right hinge swivel on the left side of my headphones?
Thank You Sir... You are doing the Lord's work.
I am glad I googled "Broken Sony WH-1000xm4 headphones" before clicking the purchase button for a new set.
Thanks again..

This was so helpful and informative, I followed along while repairing after buying the part online and the headphones are working again! Thank you!
Glad it helped

What a wonderful fixing video! I just finished replacing the broken right Swivel part with a new one by watching your video step by step. Thank you so much!! :)

Nice work and thanks for your order. Feels good doesn’t it ?
A very meticulous & complete walkthrough guide. Great work!

Are both xb910n hinge aslo same to wh-1000xm4 ?
I just bought and installed the new swivel part. I watched the video through out the replacement - perfect guidance. It took me a little longer than I expected, but my headphones work again! @centralsound
im so glad somebody has covered this specific issue I have, cheers!

Does anyone know what size the light blue o ring is for the l swivel bit.
Why is unscrewing impossible? What type of oil do I need?
Thanks for this, best tutorial for this fix in all of youtube
I seem to have stripped one of the screws on the PCB (see 3:10). Any advice on removing? I tried using rubber bands and a latex glove, but my screwdriver head went right through them.
Same, did you find a better solution?
irks me how common this issue is. thanks for this dude, will follow along once the parts arrive.
This was a great tutorial! Very easy to follow and I was able to fix the headphones. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Thank you very much for this! Just a note that I did not take off other (left) o ring and the procedure seemed to go OK.
Incredible tutorial! Worked like a charm. Thank you so much.
Glad it helped!
Helpful video! Do you have any idea what size the screws are for the circuit board? My PC repair kit doesn't have s bit small enough and I want to buy the correct size. Thanks!

Is this applicable to the Xm3 aswell or are they built different?
Thanks for the guide, it helped me repair mine!
Thank you, Central Sound! I bought the replacement parts a few days ago and they came in today just in time for me to fix my headphones. This was the first ever repair I did on any piece of tech and the guide was super helpful. @@naresharanjian1786I used mine for about a year and 4 months. Granted I got really cocky my headphones and became a bit careless with them.
This has just happened to me but I’m not sure I am capable of fixing it like this! Thanks for the video
Dude thank you so much, seriously. Super easy to follow.
After extensive research. I’m glad I saw this video. I was planning to buy a secondhand xm4s but I’m not sure if I will still get them.
Отличный гайд. Спасибо мужики!
Thanks for the video. Would you be interested in creating a new video regarding the ringing noise in the earcups when noise canceling is on?
Hello, does anyone know what size the blue o rings are? One of mine snapped and I cant seem to find the info online. 😞
Now our hinge swivels include the o-ring. Did you order from us?
How can I get the replacement for the blue rubber?becaus after all this time with my damaged headphones i lost it
Do they also fit with sony wh-1000xm3?

So my swivel piece is fine it’s the plastic bit that the swivel piece locks on to that broke on my headphones. Anyone know how to fix that piece?
Awesome job & guidance! I appreciate the calm & clear walk through tremendously.
Glad it was helpful!
Hello, does this work for the wh ch710n model too?
Hello, no these are different parts.
Hi, i have the same problem but with my panasonic Rp-hf410b, do you thibk this piece replacment could work on it too?
Hi! Most likely won’t work.
any idea how to remove the end part of the headband for most headphones, my right ear piece broke off cleanly from the wire that goes from the headband through the swivel part and need to get more wire exposed in the band to solder new wires between the 2 for a stronger connection, my headphones are Sennheiser PC 350 SE
Hey Jonathan my right head phone stopped working after fixing the hinge, the touchpad still works but no music any help ?
Hi there, this is a fantastic tutorial, and worked perfectly, thank you for making it so clear and simple to follow!
You're welcome!
Man, you are a life saver, thank you so much, congrats on the great content 🙏🏻
Mine detached itself from the metal clin on that swivel, nothin was broken thank you for detailed teardown. I got mine working.
Glad it helped
Thank you Johnathan. Everything worked well.
Great to hear!
can the metal U piece be installed without removing and disconnecting the earcup? I have previously installed a replacement but without the u piece and would rather not fully dissemble the whole device aging.
No
you are the best this video is real helpful and real saved me !!!! I luv you
Thank you ☺️
The screw at 3:07 is stripped and I cant remove it. How do I fix this?
thank you! I was able to successfully complete the repair with this video.😄
감사합니다! 이 영상으로 수리를 성공적으로 끝낼수있었습니다.
Great Job! 👏
On the 11 minute of the video, how can I get the boot that spins in circle. That part of my headphone set is broken. Got my earphone dangling. Where is this tech at? I'm in West Los Angeles, CA. Teach me something to be a better tech.
