Joe Petagno created the best looking black light posters of all the late 60's and early 1970's in my opinion and it's funny (and strange) how they don't get talked about hardly anywhere in the bios or interviews. My friends and I were always trying to make trades with each other to get a hold of a Petagno black light poster that the other wouldn't have or could no longer find any place to buy. I want to ask him about that mistake that artists do with the jaw of the motorhead they draw the jaw with a part missing like it was broken and its not.
that black and white version of hammered/27 log deal is so damned badass looking. i always like the gold version thats on the cd cover. but the black and white version looks cooler in my view
i may have one of those rare ones you wanted back then.lol.my neighbor who was like 60 gave me a bunch of old posters and one was says joe petagno on the bottom.its a big "cocaine" logo like the coca-cola logo in front of a black/yellow sun or moon.underneath the logo and moon is a 57 chevy driven by elvis popping his head out the window to leer at the waitress delivering his food at the 50's carhop burger joint,and its a wide eyed betty boop in tight shorts bending over with her ass hanging out
they haven't had an artist since Mr. Petagno. just lousy computer photoshop. if Joe hated the march or die cover. then how much do you think he hates the piss poor art on 'the world is yours' cover? hey Joe even if you won't do it for motorhead, too bad you couldn't do it for us fans who have to suffer without you.
Yeah.. It's was a reason behind this. Petagno have wanted royalty on ALL their previous album of Motorhead, who's been drawn by Petagno. Like each cover from all Motorhead album, and guest what he lose in court something like that. So Lemmy was pissed off, and life moves on..
