  • We talk to the one and only Mr Lemmy Kilminster about his love of rock & roll, Hawkwind, his love of punk rock & Nirvana, and why humans can learn a lot from the ants... but for now, "You can love the individual, but you can't love the race... we're arrogant bastards. We're like a dose of crabs"
    Filmed by Marc Broussely in association with LoudPixels.

    I met Lemmy once, around 1980, in a bar in London. He was with some people, but still made time to talk to me and my friend for 10 minutes. Top guy.

      Don't mean to offend a fellow Motörhead brother, but i am quite sick of people dramatizing his health. He lived a hard rock'n roll lifestyle, and he worked hard too, always on the road or in the studio. Drank and smoked heavily and certainly had his fair share of other substances too. I read Hawkwind by David Abraham's . In it Dave Brock eludes to the reasons why Lemmy got sacked from his band .
      Lemmy was overly aggressive when woken from two days in bed while the rest of them were trying to get to the next gig . Lemmy repeated this inconsiderate behaviour all over North America and by the time they were due in Edmonton they took a vote and he got binned. Lemmy has never forgiven the members of Hawkwind and in the last few years it was stylish to blame Hawkwind , it was indeed his own fault that it led to his sacking. Lemmy had been on stage many times as a guest at lots of Hawkwind gigs and just once it would have been pious of him to have admitted he was wrong about his back biting attitude . I have always been a fan and mean no disrespect but the truth is the truth and Americans are usually 30 years behind the story . Dave Grohl's first ever sighting of the band was on the Young Ones TV show . This was obviously the Classic line up had split and Philthy was to leave straight after .
      Despite a new incarnation Lemmy was flogging a dead horse because the Classic line up was the best line up .

Like just Another guy you would meet and be friends with😊. Man a lot of the so called stars today could learn a lot from Lemmy. Lemmy didn't think he was above a god or better than the man on the street. That is so rare Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar comes to mind but that's about it.. Lemmy looks really worn down hear his face tells the story of his life but he still had weight on and was playing and touring not long after he lost all the weight got really feeble but still had his will and fuck off attitude , his insiders view of 60 s and 70 s rock made him a living history book.

      Savor that moment, many didn't get to see them at all. And you can switch on a DVD or see on TH-cam. I saw them 4 times live, best experiences of my life.
      I recommend 1916 Live Everything louder than everything else Live Munich. That is the best live show i've ever seen by any band. So raw and unpolished.

    Well, my birthday was always somewhat entertaining to me until I turned 35. Now it's a day to remember the one and only, Lemmy Kilmister. This video makes it weird because my younger brother's birthday is April 5th. Any Nirvana fan knows what Courtney did that da... I mean what happened that day in 1994. Really strange how these dates became. Lemmy and Kurt. Get yourself a double blacktooth and raise some goddamn hell! Getcha pull!

      he was a rhythm guitarist, so he wasn't completely new. he just ended up playing bass like a rhythm guitar - chord shapes and strumming the strings. it's still something he doesn't get credit for. to watch him play live is amazing - see what his left and right hands are doing, neither are just single note plod-along

    • @grimreaper2773
      @grimreaper2773 6 ปีที่แล้ว
