Thanks for breaking in my Motordyne exhaust for me. Bought it discounted from the site awhile back was wondering when the video was going to come out 😂 Mines a convertible so the cabin audio isn't actually too bad overall.
Didn’t know they were necessary. I put mine on with test pipes it was as easy as doing an oil change since I pulled the stock exhaust last year for my last engine swap so the bolts weren’t seized
Such a great video, it's a crime this only has 7k views! Could you make a short edit of all the sounds one after the other? Here are the time stamps for the soft launch and hard launch for each exhaust to help anyone decide based on sound. Magna flow: 12:28 Invidia: 23:25 HKS: 32:58 Motordyne: 44:23 Tomei: 56:09 Z1 Single: 1:03:25 Z1 Toruing: 1:15:56
only thing is exhaust tone does change after a layer of carbon has built up on the muffler packing. HKS has always been may favorite with cats and the way it looks with that Nismo rear bumper
@kemnf553788349gmsrgk it's a deeper tone than stock, but you get that same sound at normal driving, but when you give it gas, I mean pedal to the floor it gets loud and aggressive sounds really good! I was skeptical about it, too, in the beginning. But I'm really glad I bought it for my G35. I recommend it, in my opinion.
My current setup is little random. Motordyne Art pipes, megan Y pipe, and Invidia N1 midpipe to dual. Absolutely love it though. Money well spent. Cant wait to have the z1 level 2 tune
Great video, and I would like to thank Big Boy John for shying me away from tomei and convinced me to go motordyne. This was during the pandemic, and the wait time was 5 n half months 😅 even then, it was worth the wait ❤
I just got the z1 plenum spacer and the HKS racing suction intake installed on my 05 350z. I bought the HKS high-powered catback exhaust system from z1 too but I haven’t had the chance to put it on yet. Won’t be long!!! DE vs THE WORLD
The combination i have is tomei headers, high flow cats, and the HKS hi power dual exhuast ahh man thats the perfect setup honestly not too loud and its got a burrble pop to it its just so good
this was a great review imo Z1 definitely alot better then the last one, as someone who was stuck on the tomei catback with the stock cats because the sound was just amazing, the loudness especially on long drives overtime became too much, and then i switched to motordyne and it was too quiet for what i was used to but the sound and tone was something else, after i paired it with the art pipes it was perfect loud when u want it, quiet when necessary, i definitely recommend a motordyne if you can
Great shoot-out video 😀 Do you plan on doing any videos without OEM cats? I would say once the packing has settled, it will sound somewhat a notch lower in overall volume. Custom is an option as well for some but this is a good comparison video. I'm still experimenting with some custom work on mine with different packing material on my CPV35 (VQ35DE): th-cam.com/video/AdOdA6DQV0Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=K8CFRu07deuvB8Ci (Will be adding some helmhotz resonators as well) 😃
They were in the bottom right corner in the last clip of the dyno! (We may have forgotten to film the graph after the dyno). It made 282.94 WHP @ 6640 RPM and 253.55 WTQ @ 4890 RPM!
i’ve been looking to get a GThaus exhaust, but there isn’t a video out there of anyone doing a full in depth review nor any power gains/losses. anyone think it’s worth it? whether youve done your own research, have it yourself, someone you know has it, i would like to hear your opinion. TIA
Damn, they all sound nice, except for the Tomei. It's nice to hear exhaust that actually SOUND nice, because we all know the current trend has been loud exhausts that sound like ass.
Loved this video. I’d say budget friendly ISR best bang for buck but the Z1 single is nice. As for dual Motordyne sounds so good. I have a 370z now with a Fast Intentions and I’d say it’s 50/50 against Motordyne because they both have their distinctive sounds. Great exhaust comparison 🤙🏼
Why did you guys cut off the explanation of properly putting on a V-Band clamp? You started to explain and then just cut to the tip install. That was really poorly edited…😅
I like how you appeal to your base. Before you even opened the box for the Magna flow, you were trashing the American brand. It's typical. The bad thing: you wouldn't have called out Tomei or similar exhaust for blowing welds or bad fitment. And honestly, it was the best sounding exhaust! I like how these days if you hear any sound, it's considered "drone". You want some noise going down the road. SMH. When did sound at speed considered drone? Men are wimps now. Also to note: the Magna flow has "drone", but the Motordyne that's a lot louder has sound. GTFO.
the things he pointed out on the box showing the wrong diagram / indicating it was a full catback were reasonable. Tomei looked fine so no negatives to point out. Unsure where you're pulling this bias from.. Best sounding exhaust is pretty subjective. Definitely sounded pretty good though. Imo the only one that sounded bad was the Tomei because its so loud. I dont really want sound when sitting at speed I want sound on acceleration. Sitting on the highway for a few hours with noise/drone of any level of loud isnt good.
Thats totally not true, motordyne is an american brand and its probably the best if not one of the best sounding exhaust for the vq imo and the quality is impeccable compared to many other brands, but still at the end of the day sound taste is subjective, people look for different things in there exhaust, i was a strictly tomei guy then i switched to motordyne and love it, loud when you want it and quiet like a stock car when you need it to be
Ill say this till the day I die, Motordyne exhaust is by far the best exhaust made for this platform. Love it
I'd agree for a clean car like this Nismo. Just wish they could keep the cost down and even more importantly, easily ship internationally.
Motordyne all day I was a single exit fan boi till I grew up now.. motordyne on top 🔝!!
I'm 30, and the Gemini is my favorite z exhaust I've ever heard. The mid 50's comment hurt 😢
Paired with some Berk HFCs they sound amazing
Thanks for breaking in my Motordyne exhaust for me. Bought it discounted from the site awhile back was wondering when the video was going to come out 😂
Mines a convertible so the cabin audio isn't actually too bad overall.
What’s crazy is that this is the only/best install video for an HKS catback exhaust on TH-cam
Didn’t know they were necessary. I put mine on with test pipes it was as easy as doing an oil change since I pulled the stock exhaust last year for my last engine swap so the bolts weren’t seized

Motordyne sounds the best.
that Nismo is so beautiful! overall a very very great video and I appreciate all the details and test you guys did! really nice and thorough
Wish you’d do a DB reading at 50ft wide open throttle. That’s how every track I’ve been to measured their DB requirements.
On the invidia nice looking piping turn the x pipe into a dual in/out muffler to act as resonator and boom best sound minimal rasp
Awesome video! Intake shoot out for the DE would be great!
only thing is exhaust tone does change after a layer of carbon has built up on the muffler packing. HKS has always been may favorite with cats and the way it looks with that Nismo rear bumper
That z1 exhaust sounds great!
I own the z1 touring exhaust for my g35 and I freakn love the sound
Im, really considering the touring exhuast, its always hard to judge through a video. How much louder is it than stock, Is the tone deeper ?
@kemnf553788349gmsrgk it's a deeper tone than stock, but you get that same sound at normal driving, but when you give it gas, I mean pedal to the floor it gets loud and aggressive sounds really good! In my opinion the Greddy Evo TT was the best sounding exhaust on the 350z.
motordyne sounds the most soothing to the ears but that TOMEI just speaks race car lol.
IMO, the Z1 single with the Modular res Z1 y-pipe sounds TOO CLEAN & I need it. Beautiful sound & quality
Great video, and I would like to thank Big Boy John for shying me away from tomei and convinced me to go motordyne. This was during the pandemic, and the wait time was 5 n half months 😅 even then, it was worth the wait ❤

That Z is hottttttt!
should do a supercut at the end of each sound one after the other
would've liked to hear a stillen exhaust
Awesome! I’ve been waiting for this.
Glad we could deliver!
Do a murano and best options to get it to 300hp
Such an amazing video
Thanks so much!
much appreciated

Thank you so much!
The perfect exhaust review for 350z’s as far as cat backs go
Thank you!
Solid stock numbers!
HKS FTW!! I absolutely love mine paired with NISMO headers and Motordyne Art Pipes
Motordyne all the way 🥱
That HKS is like having an iPhone. If you know you know.
this video was so needed, thanks guys
Happy to help!
Do you guys have videos of the injen?
Great video do more
Thank you! We plan on doing these pretty often!
What was the Dyno results for the invidia exhaust?
Bro ! If I say that! I appreciate the Z platform!👍🏽 where is Sydney she is so funny add her more often in your videos 😂
I cant decide. Motordyne or HKS ????????????????
Can you do different Cats next? or X H pipe
The stock muffler on the Nismo is different than the stock muffler on the non Nismos. It'll be about 10 lbs heavier.
I NEED THAT MOTORDYNE EXHAUST..
NOW
ITS MINE
FOR MY BABY, MY DE
I use a tomei on my 370. And it’s crazy lol 😂
Great shoot-out video 😀

What I wanna know…Are these USED exhaust setups going to be available for purchase at a heavily-discounted price??? 🤔
They were like 3.5 months ago lol
Thank y'all for doing this. This is what I needed!
Thanks for watching!
Did I miss the Tomei dyno numbers? I swear they skipped them. What were the results?
They were in the bottom right corner in the last clip of the dyno! (We may have forgotten to film the graph after the dyno). It made 282.94 WHP @ 6640 RPM and 253.55 WTQ @ 4890 RPM!

How about a minty S-Tune as seen on my channel 👀
No AAM?! 😢
HKS!!

Bring back the R - tune exhaust
Magnaflow sounds best on American V-8 engines.
Nice verocity plagued exhaust pipes 😂
Maybe put all this info in a handy chart?
what about ark or isr
We do not carry ARK or ISR for the 350Z.
@@Z1Motorsports23 yeah i realized i should’ve been watching the same video you made but for vhr platform , saw everything i needed there thank you!
Damn, they all sound nice, except for the Tomei. It's nice to hear exhaust that actually SOUND nice, because we all know the current trend has been loud exhausts that sound like ass.
agency power

Let’s goooo

That was really poorly edited…😅
That invidia system sounds awesome. Tips are an L though.
Test a Motordyne on a Z34 just so I can buy it “used” 😂
I have the original Nismo S-tune Catback system with Kinetix HFC. Hear my exhaust here: th-cam.com/video/ZP1wsUsPK3U/w-d-xo.html
Greddy????
music is way too loud, otherwise I enjoyed the video
The only good VQ exhaust is a true dual exhaust. From the head to the tip. True dual.
Everything else is just pure S H I T.

Funny the tanabe medallion touring isn’t on here. The most mature, non douche exhaust on the market for the 350
