Then again it took me less than a minute to think of a few non-smokers who have lost their vocal range. Vocal coaches also seem to make a world of difference. It's not like aging singers are really doing something stupid, it's just if they were self-taught, they may have worked out their own techniques that were never optimal, but worked well enough for them while they were young... Then as one ages the vocal folds are less forgiving, so even the greats can benefit from a coach. I suspect these guys as well as Roger Daltrey have coaches, or at least employ a regimen based on solid medical info, whether from a doctor or personal research. Of course this is just my theories, but to really know the facts we'd have to ask Sammy himself lol. Until than we can just take our observations to work it out. I'd feel fortunate at the end of my 30s to sing as well as Sammy in his early 70s 😎

The video blew my mind as an early teen, and your performance here, along with your commentary about it's relevancy today shows me that this song is true art. He will be missed.
