- Good day folks. Today I talk about Magnetic Amplifiers with a Don Smith twist. Because I seen it mentioned in the comments multiple times, I thought It would be nice to cover the basics.
Please note this is a basic representation and I don't cover any of the additional methods of enhancements possible such as taking advantage of resonance, reactance and even a state of hysteresis if the system will be used as a magnetic like motor assembly.
In theory you can even drive the HV ac side with the one wire system with the AV diode plug for using only the field component and converting that to potential. You can use your own variants of low current oscillators, Even could use the mains with the help of a high voltage MOT and drive your AV plug from the HV side (caution) Many applications possibilities is my point!

Yo particularmente estoy muy interesado en su aplicación para amplificar audio y música, pero me falta algo de base en alta frecuencia para poder abordarlo, necesitaría un esquema funcional que seguir, o que me pudieras comentar que módulos comerciales por partes podría usar para llegar a buen fin, por ejemplo: que me pudieras decir " con esta fuente de Alterna de 50 khz te va a funcionar", o decir, con este esquema no hay problema, no importa que me de poca potencia a la salida del altavoz, con 1watio en adelante me valdría, cualquier linea de ayuda o idea.
Tampoco es fácil el tema de la modulación, o levantar la señal de una guitarra ( es lo que deseo) de alta impedancia a este circuito de baja impedancia de entrada.
Por eso desearía un poco mas de detalle o ayuda en este punto concreto.
Yo deseo no utilizar ni transistores ni válvulas ( excepto en la fuente de alterna de alta frecuencia si fuera absolutamente necesario), así que el previo o control del mag amp lo tengo algo mas difícil tambien.
Estoy seguro que muchas personas estarían encantadas de un video dedicado sobre mag amp para música y audio, o al menos un poco de luz mayor en el camino.
Soy un humilde aficionado al audio con mucha curiosidad y pocos medios, pero si he conseguido muy buenos resultados con amps OTL en Alta y baja +B esto no debería serme tan difícil 😅.
Tambien veo que los amplificadores de clase D de alta potencia parece que utilizan este tipo de tecnología mag amp, o al menos veo muchos trafos toroidales bobinados de mediano tamaño, en amps para coche de hasta 25.000w watios de pottencia RMS con cafgas de 1 a 8 ohmios, si 25.000 lo he escrito bien 😅 y aunque llevan un chip también parece que la potencia se basen en mag amps en serie o paralelo.
Otro video muy interesante serían los amp electrostáticos para audio, con condensadores de polvo de bario que cambian sus propiedades al someterlos a corrientes alterna y/o continua y amplifican claro, la filosofía es la misma, también trabajas en alta frecuencia, pero empecemos por los mag amp jeje

Prob in part how he got the idea and mixed it with Tesla's resonance and one wire system.
read between the lines. consider you, have 2 currents, that have 2 directions., Then you need 2 coils, and they should be wound opposite each other. there is 2 kinds of current, ac and dc. but the point is you are missing 50 Percent of the available potential. secondly magnetic cores wound in a manner of coil ,over coil, over coil, creates a better magnetic field strength.
distance like a secondary Tesla coil. does not take advantage of magnetic field. so for more magnetic field is better. you could wind single coil inductors cores, biffilar. do you have any bffilar coils?
Where does the 1KV on the right come from? Is there a step-up transformer somewhere that’s missing?
let me say this, if you have a continual discharge, then this creates a electric magnet on the static end.at the ceramic capacitor that is by polar. also there are sharp points. continual discharge creates very large magnetic fields. so to use conductors that take from the dc end of the ac potential. it has enough vols dc if you focus on rectify the dc part from the ac wire. a spark or a Tesla ball perhaps. but yea you can take the dc off the ac then you proved you can directly charge a battery. focus on rectifies the dc from the ac potential..

Joel, I just found you...Which it would've been earlier!! your explanation is clear and not esoteric or veiled like with many around the net, and I thank you for it.
I have the talent to understand these concepts as if by instinct but not always a way to completely explain what is going on in the circuits...It takes immense amounts of time and effort...Not forgetting higher intelligence, discerning...Genius.

Ive been wrestling with this concept for years in my head. I think it's time to test my theories. It's literally in the air, meant tobe harvested.
I agree the potential difference between the two vectors is definitely whats creating the excess energy flowing between the load vector
Vector potential math and scalar potential are at play allowing a greater scalar energy to be in a load simultaneously between two different vector potentials.
interesting ideas. I've never seen the Don Smith stuff so I'll have to look it up. And just for posterity, the setup you showed at 6:00 dates back to Tesla. I think he patented it as a rectifier circuit, just without the diodes.
