Still no Bloodborne sorry, I haven't bought a PS and 100% Bloodborne since the last video from previous week. After the standard "bloodborne where" comment let us know what bosses you like the most in Souls games, I am curious which encounters you guys enjoy.
Sadly, without having played the best FromSoftware game ever made, I do not think you have the authority to make this video. Imagine if I where to tal about Souls games without having played the original Dark Souls or Elden Ring. It would be absurd, right? So... Yeah. Get ahold of a PS4/5 and get to it. I warrantee it will change your view of the entire genre.
I fully disagree with Godfrey not having emotional impact. He holds his dead omen son saying his goodbyes and then his own grace is leading towards you, the player. YOU are the boss fight and godfrey is the main character
yeah for sure. and like he is the first elden lord, and after you kill his ghost you think you're done with him. All the churches or marika talking about how he got sent away to the badlands so he could further his own skills and come back for the throne.... and then he does. I think i literally shit myself when I saw him holding Morgott when I first entered the arena. Not to mention the phase change cutscene. Goated and emotional.
Father Owl doesn' get a lot of credit for how good he is but I love his fight so much. His personality directly effects the way he fights. He is one boss that can use all the cheap tricks, cheats and questionable moves and he can still get away with all of them. His fight is so rich of story telling.
I here so many people talk about how great he is but honestly I think great shinobi owl is better the way he throws tricks at you is not only thematically awesome but also hard to predict which makes the fight more sporadic and therefore more fun for me
@@YairGatt Inner Father is the only boss I've not beaten with all the difficulty options maxxed (bell and not kuros charm) so I agree, so fun tho. Malenia is just annoying (I mean not Malenia in general, mainly waterfowl dance and the life steal, felt like cheap ways to make it harder, the fight is still good is just really hard to get into her game and actually start to have fun)
Dragonslayer armour is pretty underrated, it's between two great bosses. The moveset is good, soundtrack slaps like any other, visually you're fighting strength build ornstein and the greataxe enables a hidden easy mode. My only issue are the butterfly attacks, which can feel cheap
First Boss, Filter Boss or whatever boss that you face on early will always be the best bosses for me (Margit, Ludex, Father Gascoine/Cleric Beast, etc..) why? Because this early on in the game is where everything is truly balance. No over leveled stats, no broken weapons and no overtuned bosses just you, your starting weapon and your skills against a boss fitting for your level. That's why most filter bosses are so memorable for me. They truly give the best and hardest challenge while also being fair at the same time.
I don't see a best soundtrack so I will make one. Gwyn, Ludwig, Godskin duo, Mohg, Abyss Watchers. You can parry the bosses but you can't parry the feels.
Bloodborne edition of this vid: -Human bosses 3. Gehrman 2. Gascoigne 1. Lady Maria -Beast bosses 3. Defiled Watchdog 2. Ludwig 1. Laurence -Dragon bosses THANKFULLY Bloodborne doesn't have dragons -Gimmick bosses 1. Micolash because he's such a troll -Gank bosses: 2. Living Failures 1. Shadows of Yharnam
Demon prince is the best demon fight, and arguably the best duo fight as well. A super underrated boss. Midir is the best dragon fight fromsoft has made. No Plasidusax isent even close. Gael is an enjoyable fight, but maybe not the best Side tangent: There was this one time where Godfrey used 23 grab attacks consecutively. I dodged all of them, where he then did a aoe stomp and then grabed me and instakilled me. Also the overtuning of all of the bosses is annoying. Its unnatural how long they hold/delay their attacks.
Personally Humanoid: Malenia, followed by Gael Monster: Manus, followed by Ludwig Dragon: Midir, followed by Placi Gimmick: Rykard, followed by Divine Dragon Gank: Demon Prince, followed by O&S
Damn bro, you deserve so many more subs. I love your videos so much. Please don’t give up posting, i know you’ll get 10’s of thousand of subs in no time!
My top 10 is like 1. Soul of cinder 2. Gael 3. Abyss watchers 4. Burnt ivory king 5. Handler Walter 6. Isshin 7. Twin princes 8. Allmind 9. Demon princes 10. Friede I have played all the fromsoft games
What do you mean you don't enjoy Elden Ring Duos. We have Gargoyle duo, Godskin Duo, Crucible Knight Duo, Watchdog duo. Actually yeah, they are all terrible.
Duo boss fights did take a big dip in Elden Ring. After Orenstein and Smough and Demon Prince Godskin Duo is a huge dip in quality. More designed to annoy and frustrate players. From Soft did take cues from DS2 and this is one of the lowest key points.
you perfectly described the feeling i got with Godfrey.. ffs they gave the Omen twins more dialogue than the literal guardian of the erdtree. you’d think he would show up to at least have a word before what could’ve been the closest kin to Asura’s Wrath in a boss fight.
Great vid and selection, but the lack of Bloodborne makes it slightly flawed, since Ludwig is arguably the best monster in all soulsdom replacing Demon of Hatred (which I find personally inferior to Headless Ape in Sekiro). I also feel Father Owl should be mentioned somewhere as it's such a great fight only marginally inferior to Isshin, IMO. Other than that I agree 100%. Gael, Manus, Midir, Ornstein & Smouth, etc. are really the epythome of their niches. And the fact they never needed to resort to infinite helicopter combos, super delays or input-reading to be fun and challenging, only shows their greatness.
I think a video about best atmospheric bosses would be cool. Placidusax would be one of my favorites, and I might get hate for this but my favorite atmospheric boss would be Burnt Ivory King. I know it's DS2 but whatever there were some good things in it. The fact you can recruit soldiers to join you, the long ass drop into basically hell, the soldiers sacrificing themselves to freeze the doors shut, then the king himself with that entrance was just 🤯😲
Love the video but to say Godfrey has had no build up, youd have to be playing with your eyes closed to not see it, Godrick mentions him(first demigod most will fight), he is CONSTANTLY mentioned through item descriptions and npcs, and it is hinted that he will return when he is needed most(the erdtree being burnt and the release of destined death) then boom where is he? At the foot of the Erdtree expecting our tarnished warrior ready to claim lordship once again. If you read this thank you for your time and apologies if it came off as rude, I just see so much disrespect for my goat so i had to defend him.
I agree with pretty much the entire list but for me Gael comes first and Isshin takes the second spot also Demon's Souls definitely has the best gimmick bosses, not only they are fun but also they all look epic.
Enjoyed it a lot great vid. I am not a great souls player so I don't really do well against strong bosses but I really love Nameless King. He was the absolute best until Ds3 dlcs came out.

Malenia is my favorite in the series because she fundamentally raises the difficulty bar. Almost every boss in souls can be beaten with good positioning and well-timed dodges, but Malenia is the exception. You have to dodge certain attacks in a very specific way, which is the logical evolution in difficulty for souls, since you can only exploit s to a certain extent. I know she’s controversial, but I feel like waterfowl dance having two specific ways to dodge it makes her far harder than any boss prior, while still being completely fair and totally reasonable to take no damage fighting.
Honestly to me Waterfowl Dance is just annoying the only way to prevent it in Phase one is to stay close That's not a bad thing It's just the move itself The healing itself too feeling annoying Alot of the moves I don't mind on either She's a good boss but it really pisses me off when I and other people have no clue how to fully dodge the move There are other bosses in the game I enjoy the most Morgott, Godfrey, Mohg and Maliketh Maliketh though does have a problem It's more use attacks may want players to simply spam roll Which then in the game the others smack you in the face for being a sucker at thinking spam rolls will save you And then Mohg himself becomes a Dark Souls boss with delays and positioning for me Mohg is a number 1 boss of the game with Godfrey number 2 and Morgott number 3 That's how I see it

@@Brollo_ I would have put Morgott instead. I know he’s an omen but I consider him to be a human boss. I just liked his move set and design much more than Godfrey.
I was kinda shocked when i first saw the online discourse hating elden beast. I absolutely love that fight, the fight against radagon opening with the main theme into cosmic god of elden beast was the perfect end of the game to me
I personally find Placidusax to be above Midir because sure, Midir is harder, but he's also not very engaging. This is because he's mainly harder due to just having way more health than anything else in DS3, so if you master his attacks the fight just takes ages, whereas Placidusax feels like he's able to make the fight escalate a TON across his runtime, the initially low-movement dragon is suddenly hurtling through the air as a cloud, teleporting, nuking the ground, and firing a brutal double laser breath attack, in one of the coolest arena's in the series. Like sure Midir feels more in his prime but gameplay wise his fight is kind of a let-down comparatively
Demon prince fight is genuinely the best designed gank fight fromsoft has made. Not as iconic as O&S, but it is much better designed and the music is genuinely one of the best tracks in the game
My favourite Bloodborne boss fight has to be the orphan. He is a humanoid boss but it as well be a beast by the time you kill it. On my last playthrough I remember grinning to the ears when I finally reached it. My weapon started breaking mid fight but I still pulled through in my first attempt. Also Dragonslayer armour is very underrated
My favs: Humanoid: Gael, Maria and Soul of Cinder. Monster: Ludwig, Manus and Abhorrent Beast. Dragon: Kalameet(I don’t like dragons but Kalameet is to good) Gimmick: Yhorm Gank: Ormstein & Smough, Demon Prince and Shadows of Yharnam
Elden Ring bosses don't input have input reading. They can react to your flask drinking animation but the combo followups they do is always determined by positioning.
He was in my list while making the video, I even recorded his fight but the charm of Artorias mostly comes from nostalgia, he's the first humanoid boss that made these kinds of fights popular. His design and lore aside he really doesn't stand out with his moveset anymore, he has little to no combos and his fight is really repetitive. Even though I like the character I don't think he can compete with the newer bosses.
Problem with Godfrey that ruins it for me is that unnecessary 360 degree infinite range spammy stomp. It comes out so fast that at a distance it's a struggle to see it coming and the consecutive stomps can even true combo. Like wft. Just pull in the radius and have him charge players that spam ranged attacks for a serious punish to put them under pressure. FromSoft went so far as to gift him an entire phase of it. It's just a lazy way to "deal" with multiple summons. FromSoft do this a lot with most of the bosses; just give them an AOE and there, done, every one gets hit.
Ok I want this guy to rank all the games just because I want to know his opinions on elden ring since he seemed to not like the build variety that much in the weapons video and he talked lesser of the bosses in this video
the only thing I disagree with is how you say Yhorm has no other way to beat him, you can quite easily beat him using normal weapons, if you stance break him hitting his arms then you can riposte his head with a dagger to deal insane damage, you also have the option of bows, which are actually pretty fun for the fight as you have to hit certain parts of his body to deal much damage, however Rykard is 100000000000000x better still
Demon if hatred isn't hard, it's just tedious imo. Just yasha sugar and confetti for first two phases and mortal blade the demon in final phase. I like him but my gawd it's so long, If I fight him I just go autopilot. I prefer Laurence way more, tht fight feels like a satanic ritual and my gawd it's good, ludwig is goat though. Noooooo I'm not the first comment this time
the best boss by far is the godskin noble
SO i see you dont play Blood Borne or Demon Souls.
Bloodborne isn't that special, its like my fourth fave souls game
goober
Four kings is trash
