saw them 3 times - twice in Manchester and once in London. the first time I saw them they opened with this and every one around me went into some kind of wardance - had to join in of course.
Wow! Your reaction for me quite emotional. Was, thankfully, introduced to SAHB by my older brother back in the 70's, I still play my original vinyl albums regularly. The band truly were Sensational. Please dive down that rabbit hole.
Isabelle gowdy... and I'll just leave it at that. Some may say Sahb is an acquired taste you just have to have an open mind with this band and recognize true talent when you hear it. They could and did play any and all kinds of music, Framed, hammer song, teenage idol, Saint Anthony, Delilah, midnight Moses, Anthem..,... those that know, know.,, rib's and balls, rib's and balls...
I hadn't heard AH for a while, just added it to my Playlist. But, I have been listening to many of the songs you play since the 70s, so like this one, I know what's coming, so I love watching your channel because of that! AH has a lot of songs you would like. Plus you have a bunch of Who songs that are going to blow your mind(My Generation on the Ed Sullivan Show for one).
Listened to SAHB as a teenager and really I liked them. But didn’t get to see them until 1980, when Alex’s drinking was taking a real toll on their performances and eventually got the better of him. Shame. Thanks for the review!
Additive music...............Anton Newcombe had a show called DeadTV where he'd cook, and inbetween make a song by playing all the instruments, recording them, adding them up for the final result........it's an interesting process to behold.
You need to check out "Mk.gee" (yes that's his name) ...... like ASAP...Promise you have never heard a guitar sound like his. Think Prince x Police x Hendrix x Black Keys. Trust me it works. And is nothing like you have ever heard. You're welcome :)
For some diversity, try Alex Harvey's song, The Whalers (Thar She Blows) from his album, The Mafia Stole My Guitar. th-cam.com/video/ZMR-xYCoJKQ/w-d-xo.html
Not my bag. Intro was too long and uninteresting ... then the first two lines of lyrics sealed it. That said, I enjoy coming here to listen to new material. Next!
Never heard of this artist before so I'm hearing it for the first time also. 3:00 minutes in and I'm bored of the repetitiveness. When the singer kicked in, he really lost me.
I really enjoyed these guys and their eerie, punchy, fascinating take on sorta bluesy pub rock with a theatrical bent in the early mid-70s, and came to anticipate their appearances on shows like 'The Midnight Special', 'In Concert' and 'Don Kirschner's Rock Concert'. Look up 'Vambo'. Good music television we had, even back then. 🖖🏼😁🎶❤️🍁❤️✨️🦇
@@matthewchambers-sinclair8772 will check it out. I’m from Perth Western Australia and was/are a big fan of the original AC/DC band although I don’t mind Brian Johnson and obviously love the Young brothers
I saw them twice. They. Were. Utterly. SENSATIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's hard to believe this guy would have been 90 this year. He was in his 40s when this song came out.
They were called 'The Sensational Alex Harvey Band' no? Sadly I have only one of their records, 'The Penthouse Tapes'. Great music!
Underrated band. And that intro is amazing, it's building tension.
One of the great front men of all time.
I had not thought of Alex Harvey in at least 30 years. An amazing band and song. Impressed by whoever recommended this and a deep audiofile
Saw them in Houston in 1975, blew away Black Sabbath and Rush!!!
Thought I was the only one still alive that’d heard the AHB
Wanna take an interesting journey go down this rabbit hole.
It’s not for the weak of heart

THE HAMMER SONG by ALEX HARVEY is a "banger"
Check out "Give My Compliments to the Chef" Live on The Old Grey Whistle Test to see what they were really like.
Delilah, and Next, two excellent covers that have never been bettered.

You really need to see these wild mofo's live.
Great band saw them in 1974.
SAHB! This is kicka**!!
Boston tea party ❤
They were an influence to AC DC. I saw them at the Agora in Cleveland great guitarist Zal Cleminson who usually dressed as a mime.
You should put SAHB's "Hammer Song" on your radar. In fact the whole of the first album, "Framed". There isn't a bad track.

a whole different thing seeing them live..def worth taking a look..Zal Cleminson, dressed as a clown, superb guitarist..and the unique AH himself

OK, like wow!! In a good way..I was worried at the long repetitive intro, but figured something big was brewing. It brewed most definitely. 😎
Not my favorite SAHB but they rocked some good tunes😊

Helloween did one helluva cover of this in 1999.
Please check out no time to die and soundtrack of movie dune by Diana Ankudinova from art of Hans Zimmer concert

I don’t like this song, but I appreciate your honest opinion.
awesome ...Alex Harvey was a bit special
I recommend a "Midnight Moses" 1974 live performance. th-cam.com/video/aAEhhHzil8w/w-d-xo.html
Ugh, no. Not for me . I tried, but no cigar. Checked out at 6 : 25. Chow!

The best part was when it was over. Some good parts but added up to, meh.

The original Bon Scott
There was only one Bon Scott! I don’t hear the connection?
@@KrizzySummerz1 Check out The Hammer Song by these guys - the Bon Scott influence is definitely present on that one.
@ both Bon The singer of Nazareth both true Scotsman have said they looked up to Alex .

@@KrizzySummerz1 Bon admitted several times that Alex influenced his singing style and it is pretty obvious on his earlier AC/DC work.
