Remember seeing British Touring Cars and F4 at Brands Hatch in 2005. I remember being directly above the first corner from the start line and (I think) it was a Subaru came round to fast, slipped and flipped straight above into it. Was a terrifying experience, but also amazing. Vividly remember a guy doing super bike tricks on the track, standing up while it kept moving and what not. Congrats though!
Actually, in Project Cars, if you go into manual transmission mode and go straight from 4th gear to 1st and break the engine, a little flag pops up in the left and it says 'mechanical failure'. Quite realistic.
when i was karting once i was "speeding" too much so the dude that owned the place, he "killed" my gokart so it got really slow lol Congrats on the test :)
I really like your channel and love to see you going further into racing. Can you please please when you edit the videos adjust the Mic volume from your raw footage so the volumes are consistent. Sorry for being a pedantic ass but my fiance and I love to watch your videos on our 60" and we had to keep pausing and rewinding to increase audio. Good luck , love your Great attitude.
Enjoyable experience yet startlingly terrifying all at the same time for me when i did mine the start of this year. Now 4 races into my first season of racing i'm hooked and loving it ...... just don't love the costs involved.
I did my racing licenses test one year ago at brands as soon as I turned 14, I've done all of this that you are taking about and I know exactly what it's like ahah, I am now racing in a m3 gtr with team abba with rollcentre racing and I'm loving it, just hope you can get the same fun out of racing on a circuit as well as on the road
I'm a marshal at the TT-circuit and we've got to know them all, problem is some of them have a different meaning in Motor or car racing, and they also differ in different classes (MotoGP and WSBK use their own meanings)
Now dont do what everyone seems to do when they pass their road driving test and forget everything you just learned. That surface flag is the second most important one - ignore that one at your personal peril! (Rain, oil, coolant, dead animal - I kid you not, excessive gravel from someone rejoining after ignoring another flag... the list goes on: a red and yellow is not just for rain).
I’ve completed that test for karting and had basically the same booklet and had to watch a video too. Then had to beat a lap time, then had to do a written test on flags afterwards.
I'd seen the yellow and red flag before. At the motorbike road races here in Northern Ireland we call them "Lack of Adhesion" flags and they're put out quite often in the races in the spring like the NW200 and Tandragee 100
Andrew GT-B Under race conditions engine braking can lock up the rear wheels. The car needs to be as settled as possible. Also it's unnecessary stress on the engine. Cheaper to replace burned out brakes than a ruined engine.
Brands Hatch is a pretty tough circuit for this IMO. I can never seem to get the right braking point as the turns are so sweeping. It's so easy to brake late (as you would on a tighter turn to get a faster exit) and end up scrubbing off all your speed to get it turned. You really have to feel the cars grip limit to get the apex at any sort of decent speed and getting it even slightly wrong can quickly lead to the dirt.
"Slow in, fast out. Rather than *too fast in, might not come out."* Well explained 😂
It's always the first thing to practice.
I do it with my clients as well! :-)
fuck that go big or go home
Хозе Гонзалез see you in the gravel

Congratulations mate!! I'm actually really really really happy for you! best of luck
Your GF must be proud!
I forgot to make the comment politically correct. Should've included many more options. Apologies.

You miss-spelt "Phil"
Duck you misspelled misspelt
BileMonkey as long is communication is clear I don't see what is wrong with spelling something incorrectly
OMG I can't believe how many times that instructor said "just think and it will come to you". Bloody Brilliant.
The only license you need is your Provisional

" Slow in, fast out rather than too fast in, might not come out "
Awesome ! =)

3:48 when you pass a test and you have no idea what the questions are talking about XD
Truly inspiring to watch..
Thank you Alex...am inspired too
Congrats! Hope to get my racing license someday as well.

Basically a racing driver? What a lovely sense of humour.
Well done, Alex! You did great.
Love how the captions describe the cars as music
when i was karting once i was "speeding" too much so the dude that owned the place, he "killed" my gokart so it got really slow lol
Congrats on the test :)
That 106 in the background made my day!
Alex: "Blue Flag"
Me: Vettel....
Make Colin your race car! :) Well done getting the license!

Enjoyable experience yet startlingly terrifying all at the same time for me when i did mine the start of this year.
Now 4 races into my first season of racing i'm hooked and loving it ...... just don't love the costs involved.

Congratulations Alex.
Looked like you was just about to get a proper telling off.😂🙈
Congrats dude you earned it
Ayeeee the ARDS guy was my instructor at donnington track day! What a great guy
No way that instructor was the one I had literally the nicest guy
S4Mgaming youre 14 and you already got a racing license and here im 16 and struggling to get a road license because of all the damn legal issues ;-;
I'm a marshal at the TT-circuit and we've got to know them all, problem is some of them have a different meaning in Motor or car racing, and they also differ in different classes (MotoGP and WSBK use their own meanings)

Learned what the Yellow and Red striped flag meant from the old PS1 Le Mans game back when I was 4. Thanks video games :^)
Oh Yes!!!! Congrats Alex. I hope to get mine someday. :D
I’ve completed that test for karting and had basically the same booklet and had to watch a video too. Then had to beat a lap time, then had to do a written test on flags afterwards.
lol you look like the British version of Cetus McFarland :=)
But im not a racer!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
When you're in the car all i can hear is a constant bass that is overpowering everything that's being said and it's also moving everything on my desk

Looking forward to those racing videos :b
CONGRATS ALEX

Congratulations !!!
Cheers, mate!
Ayyy, youve finally done it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How about Phil at the N24? Build him into a race car!
Congratulations mate!
Thanks a lot👍
an idea for a video for your channel is to get the race drivers to talk about their helmet and helmet designs
Nice dude now all you need is the driver mod to help you out!
Gratz Alex!
Congratulations!
well done fella.... enjoy it....
in the end you sounded like donald duck
That laugh was really weird!
Now to get A, IC, IB, and IA licences so you can drive LMPs on tracks you're familiar with. :P
Cool stuff, I'd love to have a race license, not that I'd do much with it lol!
that dc5 type r at 6:12 is lit
2:13 that could be dangerous because that looks like GO lol
I'd seen the yellow and red flag before. At the motorbike road races here in Northern Ireland we call them "Lack of Adhesion" flags and they're put out quite often in the races in the spring like the NW200 and Tandragee 100
I'm proud of you! Congrats :D
That's the coolest English person I know.
Well done on passing ur ARDS test
What's wrong with slowing the car down with the gearbox though? In daily driving that's a must.
Andrew GT-B Under race conditions engine braking can lock up the rear wheels. The car needs to be as settled as possible. Also it's unnecessary stress on the engine. Cheaper to replace burned out brakes than a ruined engine.
Andrew GT-B ...many would just the opposite logic applies actually...brake parts are WAAAY cheaper than Trans parts...
Congrats Alex Kursten!
Well done mate!
