Even back when Escaping Polygamy was on, I always wondered about her being 17 and him being in his mid 20s when she left… this is just a great lesson showing that where there’s smoke, we all as viewers need to at least LOOK for fire. I’m so sorry this happened to you all, what a disgusting person to prey on you all when you were in such a vulnerable place. He is worse than Order men because Order men were raised in the vacuum to believe that that behavior is right… he doesn’t have that excuse.

I have so much I want to say, but mostly I'm trying not to gag at everything Bryan did and said. I can feel all of your frustration when it comes to Mary's response to all this, especially in Michelle's text at the end. I do genuinely feel for Mary because damn does she still sound like she's an order wife in the way she defends him and pretends to not know what a child molester is and that she defends the start of their relationship. She was 18 when they married. She was legally free of her parents. She did not need to be married to be safe from her family forcing her back. This sounds like a lie he told a scared 17 year old and she has decided to keep believing and justifying. She is clearly a victim, but that does not preclude her from her part in further enabling his predatory behavior by keeping it quiet or her part in further victimizing Michelle, Pricilla and the third victim you spoke of. By calling you all liars and especially by spreading false rumors about Pricilla's part of that abuse, she caused you all serious harm and attempted to invalidate you and your experience. Mary ultimately is even worse than the order wives that cover up and enable abuse because she LEFT; She knows better and could much more easily leave him than an order wife could; she also goes on TV at every opportunity to brag about her love story and how much they are AGAINST this kind of abuse and how they help save people from it. I hope she one day gets out of the fog for both her sake and her children's sake. Also I don't understand what she doesn't understand about CSAM being a crime, and YES if there were photos of that other girl naked when she was underage, that is CSAM. He tried to solicit those kinds of photos from Michelle and Pricilla. I know the laws in Utah suck but he has had multiple sexual relationships with underage girls. He targeted underage girls. That makes him a predator despite Utah's lax laws. Michelle and Pricilla, you both did nothing wrong when it comes to Bryan. He is the creep and nothing he did was your fault. You are both badasses though for speaking up now and making this video. You are going to save people from this kind of abuse, not just from Bryan, but from people like him. Although I have never been in a cult and was only apart of a church a couple of times as a small child, I couldn’t figure out why I resonated so much with the stories then last night I clicked it reminds me of the abusive relationship I was in until last year and still battle against… I love everyone’s stories and how open and honest everyone is about the struggles! Thank you both for being so vulnerable and telling your stories. You are brave! I am a trauma therapist and many people laugh at their trauma. There is nothing wrong with it! I say that when we are able to laugh at a problem, you have taken that problems power away!
I’m watching “The Whistleblower” right now and literally googled his name because I felt like this guy was a predator. His wife was 17 when she ran away with him. This guy is a complete creep that probably manipulated her into destroying her family.
Given the reality of the circumstances, and the fact that you all were dealing with all of this, you all already totally made a positive difference, just by continuing to thrive and exist. Now years later, and you're still bringing even more much-needed truth into the light. You all deserve alot of respect just for getting out of there, and have accomplished even more by helping others, so this video goes above and beyond. Also, it is informative because of the fact that similar things happen frequently, in similar settings where people who provide services and support have the worst intentions. I believe and trust in the consensus of survivors, but more importantly I know you are all speaking the truth. Always be mindful that you speaking out will empower and protect others.

That guy came out of left field and these girls are very uncomfortable around him. 2. That guy is a total creep with a lot of secrets (I’m never wrong when my Spidey senses are going off like that). That takes a lot of strength to come forward when he’s create this facade of being a hero. How sad that he managed to fool sooo many people. Thank you for coming forward. I feel so sad for Michelle and how Mary reacted to her, but denial is a hard thing to get through. My family and I had a very difficult dynamic. My biological father was abusive, I later experienced emotional neglect from my mother and adopted father bc my mother had trauma she was running from as well. That’s not to excuse her behavior, but at least she has worked to rectify those mistakes and be a better person. I followed my moms example and ran from my trauma and was abusive towards my friends and family, but I have also worked hard to rectify my past and be better. The point I am trying to make is that hopefully one day Mary will see the light and she will open her eyes and heart and admit that this man is not who she thought she was. Ppl who are victims of abuse also have a habit of seeing ppl for who they THINK they are instead of who and what they really are. It took me years to stop that behavior, to see when ppl were using and abusing me and to cut them from my life. I love you all and I pray for each of you that you find happiness and healing and that one day your family can be made whole again.

You are all wonderful examples of what can happen when people leave dangerous situations (whether they’re dealing with IPV, abuse of any type from anyone, but especially cults like the one you grew up in). The thing is, and Harper is adorable I love seeing her, there is a growing concern about putting little kids on public social media. Because of predators but also they can't really consent to it, we've seen the fallout of the mommy bloggers and now the first family vlog kids are talking about it. Obviously not easy to do when you're in someone's house and the kid is there though Again nothing against Michelle or Harper, they're both awesome
How young Mary was and the fact she was already married and heavily pregnant was so weird already, same with quite a few people on the show who were with a lot older men almost as soon as they left. Didn't expect this though, but then there have been other reality shows that casually brushed off abuse with the producers and the voice over normalising it
This is a niche show but The Girls Next Door is very guilty of this. It was a mid-2000s reality show about Hugh Hefner and his three girlfriends who lived with him at the Playboy Mansion. There was an episode where he turned 80 in the same season that one of the girls had her 21st birthday so off the bat not a great situation. But, especially in hind sight, he was emotionally and verbally abusive ON CAMERA and it was a hit show on a major network. So crazy the progress we’ve made even in the last 10-15 years.

Dude is a Predator like hanging out at the bus station in Manhattan. He’s trying to set up his own polygamist group. Despicable. All abusive family systems are essentially cults-we have the same rules, i.e., thou shalt not talk under pain of more abuse (if that was even possible) so we live in fear, the grooming starts from birth, there’s a huge backlash when we sever our relationships with them entirely etc. It’s still so, so worth getting out/NC and never, ever go back.
If you’re primed from birth to be submissive and abused, then you are more vulnerable to be abused as you age. That’s why women often go from one abusive relationship, to another. The important thing to understand about that though is that abusers have a sense for people who can be manipulated. It’s not your fault - he knew exactly what he had to do to get what he wanted from you. Is this guy still in a position to abuse young women??
I’d love to see Amanda Rae and A-A-Ron from Growing up in Scientology do an interview together. Different “cults” each of you were raised in but both of you are committed to spreading awareness about your experiences and bringing victims on your channels to tell their stories too! He is hilarious and brings a lot of integrity and humor on his channel and has quite a few taglines he uses to poke fun at himself because he grew up in a cult! I’m watching “The Whistleblower” right now and literally googled his name because I felt like this guy was a predator. His wife was 17 when she ran away with him. This guy is a complete creep that probably manipulated her into destroying her family.

Given the reality of the circumstances, and the fact that you all were dealing with all of this, you all already totally made a positive difference, just by continuing to thrive and exist. Now years later, and you're still bringing even more much-needed truth into the light. You all deserve alot of respect just for getting out of there, and have accomplished even more by helping others, so this video goes above and beyond. Also, it is informative because of the fact that similar things happen frequently, in similar settings where people who provide services and support have the worst intentions. I believe and trust in the consensus of survivors, but more importantly I know you are all speaking the truth. Always be mindful that you speaking out will empower and protect others.

Thank you for this backstory. You all are so brave and strong and generous to share your stories to help others. When I saw that episode of escaping polygamy I had 2 thoughts: 1. That guy came out of left field and these girls are very uncomfortable around him. 2. That guy is a total creep with a lot of secrets (I’m never wrong when my Spidey senses are going off like that). I’m mind blown that I was right and I’m so sorry you all were hurt and affected by this dude. I’d take all your evidence and stories to the police.

That takes a lot of strength to come forward when he’s create this facade of being a hero. How sad that he managed to fool sooo many people. Thank you for coming forward. I feel so sad for Michelle and how Mary reacted to her, but denial is a hard thing to get through. My family and I had a very difficult dynamic. My biological father was abusive, I later experienced emotional neglect from my mother and adopted father bc my mother had trauma she was running from as well. That’s not to excuse her behavior, but at least she has worked to rectify those mistakes and be a better person. I followed my moms example and ran from my trauma and was abusive towards my friends and family, but I have also worked hard to rectify my past and be better. The point I am trying to make is that hopefully one day Mary will see the light and she will open her eyes and heart and admit that this man is not who she thought she was. Ppl who are victims of abuse also have a habit of seeing ppl for who they THINK they are instead of who and what they really are. It took me years to stop that behavior, to see when ppl were using and abusing me and to cut them from my life. I love you all and I pray for each of you that you find happiness and healing and that one day your family can be made whole again.
As always, you women are so brave to be so vulnerable, sharing your stories and helping others. I am truly in awe of you all. You are all wonderful examples of what can happen when people leave dangerous situations (whether they’re dealing with IPV, abuse of any type from anyone, but especially cults like the one you grew up in). I hope you know that there are so many people that support you and your message. ❤
I’m late to come here, but girls, this is totally illegal. He is not just a weirdo, he is a dangerous sexual offender. You gotta go to the police with this. And push for an investigation. I can’t imagine how many new girls are being preyed in my him. This is horrible. I’m so sorry that this creep was your first experience in the outside world.
I'm so happy you ladies are speaking up and out! I was in unfortunate circumstances for years where I was taken advantage of by men older than me 20 to 30 years. Abuse is abuse and that's exactly what this is and I wish he would suffer consequences! I can't even begin to imagine how he is with his wife and I also thought it was weird in that episode where he had inserted himself when yall were developing the plan!

How young Mary was and the fact she was already married and heavily pregnant was so weird already, same with quite a few people on the show who were with a lot older men almost as soon as they left. Didn't expect this though, but then there have been other reality shows that casually brushed off abuse with the producers and the voice over normalising it
This is a niche show but The Girls Next Door is very guilty of this. It was a mid-2000s reality show about Hugh Hefner and his three girlfriends who lived with him at the Playboy Mansion. There was an episode where he turned 80 in the same season that one of the girls had her 21st birthday so off the bat not a great situation. But, especially in hind sight, he was emotionally and verbally abusive ON CAMERA and it was a hit show on a major network. So crazy the progress we’ve made even in the last 10-15 years.

To think that American Greed, the prominent T.V. Show did not do any research on the predator they decided to put on tv, it worries me. What has this world come to. Yes I watched the episode. These poor women were victimized as children simply looking for a life outside of poligamy, but this horrible human decides to create a website and terrorize the woman looking to get out of the Kingston church despises me. How could you. This man should be ashamed of himself and he deserves all the hate comments that are coming for him!
It's awful that if you google him (or at least when I did) one of the only links talking about the charges against him is from the DCCS (aka the Order's website). I truly hope he faces justice in the near future, or at the very least that he loses credibility.

Dude is a Predator like hanging out at the bus station in Manhattan. He’s trying to set up his own polygamist group. Despicable. All abusive family systems are essentially cults-we have the same rules, i.e., thou shalt not talk under pain of more abuse (if that was even possible) so we live in fear, the grooming starts from birth, there’s a huge backlash when we sever our relationships with them entirely etc. It’s still so, so worth getting out/NC and never, ever go back.

If you’re primed from birth to be submissive and abused, then you are more vulnerable to be abused as you age. That’s why women often go from one abusive relationship, to another. The important thing to understand about that though is that abusers have a sense for people who can be manipulated. It’s not your fault - he knew exactly what he had to do to get what he wanted from you.

I’d love to see Amanda Rae and A-A-Ron from Growing up in Scientology do an interview together. Different “cults” each of you were raised in but both of you are committed to spreading awareness about your experiences and bringing victims on your channels to tell their stories too! He is hilarious and brings a lot of integrity and humor on his channel and has quite a few taglines he uses to poke fun at himself because he grew up in a cult! So hearing Amanda Rae drop sarcastic comments about growing up in a cult too just makes me think you two would have a great time getting together. And comparing Scientology to LDS/Mormon religion there’s so many difference but so many similarities at the same time.

I am so proud of you ladies taking this brave action, and my heart goes out to his wife. First off I think his behavior is Paul Kingston fan behavior. It sounds like he wants to be him. Secondly I am so upset about people who potential he reached out for help and didn’t get it because he somehow slid in. I could see someone getting scared off leaving after receiving those sorts of weird emails while trying to seek help. I guess I’m also angry because I’m triggered. I’ve had several older men in management positions take advantage of me over the Years, especially when I was younger. It’s hard for me to think about how I participated, so it’s helpful for me to be reminded that they were predators
