If there are going to be warnings about solar panels on roofs would it not make sense to warn about the roofs themselves whether or not that have solar panels ?

Hey Bob! Where to draw the line, I suppose. In this instance it will be the electrical device the drone would crash into.

@@Geeksvana Indeed, where to draw the line ?
What about electrical street furniture such as street lights 😀

@Bob_Burton there is a particularly vulnerable element to solar panels. A drone hitting them at force would be more of an issue than a street light.
I suppose it is down to the app company to draw the line. You might find that some of their professional users, (who are fee payers), requested the feature. It is very specific!

Hi Geeksvana, love the channel and missed the live channel.
Could you answer my question please,
Can I fly my drone over somebodies house and record and then publish on social media? What’s the law regarding the minimum height etc? Just want to make sure before doing any footage with my Christmas present, I do now have all the necessary requirements to fly my drone now(weighs less than 250 and have the ID)

The flight will need to be reasonable and you should try not to include anything that could identify an individual person. Remember, privacy around someone's home is more sensitive. Personally, I try to never include any footage of gardens, etc. The key is to get up to a decent height before you fly over. Also less chance of them even knowing a drone is there of course!
In terms of what height, that would depend on conditions and other factors but certainly you should be a good amount above roof height. Essentially, ensuring the flight is not focused on their garden. Hope this helps and happy flying!

It's an interesting comment that authorities were caught out by expecting everything sub 250 to be, and remain, toys. The physics doesn't change, so the fact therefore that they are now proposing to regulate more sub 250 tends to imply it is nothing to do with risk, but simply chasing where the numbers are. I thought in theory that the driving force behind regulation was supposed to be risk management and safety, but I think that is just naive.

Oh my. I have just paid £50 to do my A2CofC (got £50 knocked off for being a member of British Drone Flyers) and it may well be extinct by the end of the year? I don't know how I feel about this apart from slightly gutted. Best I study full time and pass the exam very quickly to get my monies worth. 😐😁

Hey Bill! It will be interesting to see what happens. The review that would then bring in the revised rules from 2026 seems to be making slow progress. Expected with change of government. Hopefully, we will have more information soon…

Hi, I disagree about Solar Panels I think its down to the Solar panel generating RFI interference. I know about this because I put a complaint in about solar panel causing me problems on the HF ham bands to Ofcom. They did investigate but they said it was installed by qualified electrician. It did not matter that the system was cheap and nasty.

    • @Geeksvana
      @Geeksvana  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

That is interesting! Seems more plausible than the electrical safety issue. Thank you, I will have a look into it.

The consultation put remote ID on everything with a camera, sub 250 or not. That is a huge change and a killer for FPV flyers of small craft.
I haven't flown anything bigger than a 40mm prop, approx. 50-60g AUW FPV for some months now, because the thought of all those impending new rules is just too depressing and oppressive - and if the proposal was implemented, even that would need remote ID.
Whilst this may be held up partly by government change, I find it hard to believe the present government is likely to take a more relaxed view to drone regulations than the last, the opposite if anything given their general views, but we'll see.
