love watching families work together.....you Tennessee folk sure know how to bring your children up right!!! Regards, Donald from Nova Scotia,Canada...fellow logger
That brings back memories of my younger days, working with my Dad and brothers. Back in the late 60's. Over the years I guess I have ran every piece of equipment made. God bless and all my very best from Upper east Tennessee. Liked and shared.
I miss logging with my dad, and grandpa like you guys are doing, they have been gone for 25 years. Enjoy what you boy’s are doing, one day it will be over, from a busted up logger from Gaston Oregon.
I am prerty sure I see now why the logging crew had blinders on when going past these trees!😂 Just like yourself when I saw the Big Red start peeing I was afraid it was no good but she held solid down low! Great video and Thanks for sharing!👍
Yes sir!!!!! This absolutely set the bar for the video to beat. I officially award you the Golden Chainsaw Award. Great job with the shooting and editing!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 You should be very proud.
Cool video. I was 12 years old in 1976. The first time I drove a skidder. A 225 Timberjack. I miss those days. Looks like you guys have a pretty good operation going there.
I truly appreciate y'all taking me along. That was a nice red oak. That looks like a pretty steep climb out of there. It would take the wind right out of me.
I'm retired in Myrtle Beach SC, but I grew up on a 500 acre dairy farm in upstate NY. The farm went belly up in 1976, so my 2 brothers, cousin & myself started a hardwood logging company. Logged our land then logged whatever we could win the bid on. Only lasted about 3 years though. Couldn't compete with the big companies. Sure miss it though!
You have some really nice heavy duty equipment for haling the trees out, I see you got chains on the tractor tires that helps the grip, And the guy with the chain saw was doing a fantastic job ! he knows what he is doing. You all got that big red out no problem. and you did a great job with the camera work, It was like I was right there with you. Greetings from Wisconsin ! A fantastic video! I enjoyed it ! Keep on logging.
I used to pull cable with bare hands until one day a broken strand sliced open the palm of my hand. It was not fun for the next several weeks since I still had to use my hand and took longer to heal. From that point on there were leather gloves on my hands whenever I pulled a cable...even if it was brand new. A bit of wisdom.....you might be tough but you are never as tough as you think you are.
Our Red oak grade market crashed a few years back in Va. All our red is going for tie logs at a 60 cent. Got a bad fire ant killing them fast . I can walk healthy timber and go back 6 months later and it’s standing dead .
watching from Alberta Canada i do look after my uncle's interest saw/planning mill here he knows it will not be sold why do i get the controlling interest in the operation
Check the fluids everyday that’s important to. Your dad knows all that equipment needs to be kept in good condition and greased and cleaned. I’m not talking Spitshine. I’m talking you know. Keep the sticks and crap off the floor. Keep the wood away from the radiator. You know do a good job like y’all do. That’s really important to keep your equipment and tiptop shape.
Why did the logging outfit leave all the hardware in the woods? It seems like a waste. I often find cable in the woods but not all the shackles and miscellaneous items. It seems they pulled out of the area in a hurry.
Bobby useing the word’s backwoods logging, are you all Collaborating with him ,that might be a real good ideas 💡, thanks BigAl California.praise Jesus Christ grace amen
Iam a retired west coast logger and I see nothing but pain coming your way if you folks don't start wearing safety gear. hard hard hats cotton gloves safey boots or caulks.
Hello men what I'm seeing is when y'all go to hook up your logs why is it you don't back all the way up to your logs and hook up and save pulling all your main line out some times it may be over a 100 feet and I understand some of the hills are steep but 90% of time back all the way up to them and then you'll pull about 10 feet out Im a 4th generation logger and sawmiller my son is a 5th im in the Ozarks of missouri i put my boy on the skidder when he was 9 years old dragging in steep hills get your skidder against a tree c lose as you can save your back pulling cable it will work a 100% better . Stay save and always look up the trees for dead limbs look them over good this might save your life 1 day.
I really like logging videos. May I just give a word of advice? If you are lookinbg to increase your views and subscribers more rapidly, you may have to work on speaking with less of a TN drawl. Not everyone can understand what you say. Many TH-camrs have had to do it (with success). Wishing y'all a Merry Christmas. God Bless! From Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Would you feel comfortable asking a man from Mass. or any northeast state to quit putting "R" at the end of every word? Would you feel comfortable asking someone from the Midwest to quit talking in a mousy pitch? Would you feel comfortable asking a rapper to quit sounding so "rappy"? You should be ashamed of yourself. It is amazing how some folk think that "They sound right" and someone with a pure language of old "sounds wrong". Condescending much? Eat poo and bark at the moon. Witch.
Not to bad off a spot for logging hardwood, still running old timberjack can’t be to bad NO chain on front tires 🛞. D11 CAT soon 🔜 put a road on side hill for you buddy . Here in western BC Canada 🇨🇦 we drop our timber on side off the mtns . Make better lumber 🪵 at the mills . Remember THINK 🤔 SAFETY and always put SAFETY FIRST in the forest .
