The spray says in the simple instructions to wet what your waterproofing before applying. Wait 2 mins and remove excess with a cloth. This means you wouldn't get that bad build up look

You can use this on any shoe. Light applications are the way to go.

Yep, just make sure you do light coats!
Nikwax waterproof has a Leather spray-on made just for leather only . And Nikwax Boots leather waterproof spray-on and Nikwax Tent and cloths and tarp spray-on .

can I ask if you think this spray will work for shoes which are made with real thin material like Nike epic react? and I mean spraying on the bottom of the shoe.. because they soak from the bottom..
Don't spray the bottom because the layer will just get destroyed since you're constantly stepping on hard surfaces.
The upper layer would a be feasible location to spray, but that shoe's quite perforated so I don't know if it'll help that much. If anything, youll have to spray quite a bit I assume.
I got the epic react and they only let water in from the top of the foot you must have a crack in your react I’m foam or something.

@@Theincrediblespud I have my doubts if water repellent detergents will work for shoes just because of the material difference (compared to using it for goretex jackets) - washing it in the machine should not get rid of the original coating since you're not agitating it with a brush
