Also, Dracula is one of my all time favourits. To add to your spooky gothic Halloween list, I recommend Gaiman's short story Snow, Glass, Apples; the original Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux and the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, especially the Musical adaptation by Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse. I hope you can enjoy the spooky season even without autumn vibes

I would recommend, while not strictly in the gothic category, a short story collection that I think you would like called 'Blow-Up and Other Short Stories' by Julio Cortazar. You could start with 'Continuity of Parks' which is only about two pages or so but just stunning. 'The Night Face Up' is brilliantly creepy too.
