I’m going to try these two, too. I read Cackle a while ago and I thought at the time that it was so bad it was good, if you know what I mean - I have found myself liking it more the more I think back on it, it was certainly unusual - I recommend the ‘rules of magic’ series for those who want something seriously witchy with not so much chic lit, or horror - those books are a really good happy medium for me, and historically interesting too. - I think I could read about that family forever

I love so many of these books! Malice House is so underrated!! I think you'd really enjoy The Clackity, it's a spooky middle grade with a portal element that reminded me of Rules for Vanishing. It's perfect for fall! 🍁🍂
In the Company of Witches surprised me so so much. I can't wait to read the sequel. I have My Best Friend's Exorcism on my nightstand to start soon, but I also HIGHLY suggest HorrorStor by Grady Hendrix too. It is well worth purchasing the physical book for the aesthetic.

I annotated all of it and couldn’t believe it got published. 😩 The creepy story was definately there BUT it felt like I was reading a first draft and that it never touched an editor’s desk- or if it did, then yikes😣. The writing was 🫠🥴. I wanted to like it and read all of to see if it got better. But I was very disappointed. But I did just order in the Company of Witches 😀. It looks like it is out of publishing and ordered from Abebooks.
