Hi Christine! It's good to see and hear you. Sounds like you, your family and everyone else in your area are doing a good job of returning to a more normal life, which is necessary. You will never forget but you need to move on and feel as safe as possible again. I don't envy you the job of cleaning out the family home. I've been there, done that before but as an in-law not a daughter. Take your time with it; take care of YOU during this journey. Is there a family member that might be interested in buying the home and keeping it in the family? No matter what happens with it, it was built with love and care and you will always have your wonderful memories of being there. Right?
I have younger cousins just starting out as new parents or new couple....we don't need the money depending on what I find with mom's finances... so I was thinking of just offering the house. I'm taking it all one step at a time right now...so far, just cleaning and sorting a corner at a time.
From experience I fully appreciate how you're feeling about your mum. Alzheimer's is the most awful disease. Your decision was definitely the right one, she obviously needed 24hr care & observation. I have no words regarding the shooting. I cannot comprehend what drives someone to obliterate other people and cause such devastation to families, it is beyond me. Am thinking of you & your mum and sending hugs & good vibes. Good luck with the house clearance & sale 🥰🥰
Steve, Annette, and of course, cute little Gus...thanks for your kind words. This really sucks...but it will be fine. Oh, Mom's blood pressure was hovering mid 200s at one point...now it's down to around 140 (still kind of high, but I'll take it). See you guys soon...you always bring smiles and laughter. Christine I'm so sorry to hear all your going through. When I lived in Maine I went to Lewiston often to the doctor, hospital and BJ's. I know the pain of Alzheimer's and Dementia prayers with you your mom and family 🙏💕
Oh my you have alot ahead of you . Crazy days ! Take your time , don't be in any hurry . Luckily my parents are super organized and some of it they have done for us . And you didn't do anything wrong ! ❤

It was such a horrific, surreal experience...the home did an amazing job keeping residents safe, occupied, and secure.
