Stop Smoking NOW

I’m just going to say it, STOP SMOKING NOW! Today’s video is a very disturbing, raw look at what a lifetime of chain-smoking cigarettes has done to my family. I strongly advise viewer discretion as some of the scenes are very raw and unedited. I realize I’m going to get backlash for showing these scenes, but I feel very compelled to share a very real, painful reality of what smoking WILL do to you . . . not “may” do to you, but definitely WILL do. Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, yes, I do have complete POA authority and guardianship over my mother and so I am perfectly legal to show these videos, upon counsel from my attorney. If this video encourages even one person to put the cigarettes down, then I’ll take the backlash. My mother agrees after watching the clips. It was very difficult for me to do this video . . . I did my best to keep my visible pain in check while filming, but I’m not sure I was successful. Smoking cigarettes is very much an addiction, like any other substance and the result of smoking cigarettes can and will lead to any number of smoking related diseases. . . my mother happens to have most of them. They include COPD, lung cancer, emphysema, vascular disease, vascular dementia, among some others. At any one of these points, she should have stopped smoking but couldn’t. The addiction was too strong. Now we’re dealing with end of life. This particular dementia is preventable with lifestyle management, but no management was had and now we’re dealing with premature end of life in my family. Smoking cigarettes is not cool, smoking doesn’t help with stress relief, smoking doesn’t help with weight loss . . . all excuses I’ve heard in my own house my entire life. This video is disturbing, the most powerful video I’ve ever made, and it’s a frightening look at what smoking WILL do, but if even one person is encouraged to stop smoking, then GOOD.
