I'm hopeful but nervous, Burnie has pulled off retcons in the past, but it's also been a decade since he consistently worked on rvb. We'll see what happens.
Edit: Also, I think the Allison oart is hinting at other repressed memories he has, and that it's quite possible, as the memory fragment, a major theme will be acceptance and letting go. I'm excited to see where this season will take us.
I hope this final season doesn't have a huge emphasis or focus on letting go. We've been through that many times when epsilon was in his unit, and afterwards with Carolina and the director. Seriously, feels like a dead horse now. It was fine when the focus was on project freelancer, the personal vendetta against the director and etc. But Church, specifically Epsilon, should have already learned that lesson, which the Freelancer Saga made it out to be as though he finally learned this, which Church does state he did what Alpha and the director could never do, let go. He stated that. And this is all coming from someone who hasn't watched the entire series in almost 2-3 years, possibly four now. That's how simplistic the plot of that one theme of the freelancer Saga is, to the point you really don't need to go back and rewatch it to have a pretty good and consistent grasp of it.
@jacobj3933 Honestly, most of rvb has some degree of letting go as a theme, I probably should've specified it'll probably be more minor, seems like he'll likely have to deal with repressing certain emotions though, in the chorus trilogy when omega popped up, he pushed him away, ignoring him. And we never saw him utilize sigma. So while letting go will more than likely be a sub theme, the main focus may end up being on repressed emotion. But as you said, we have gone over that in the past, particularly with season 10. Whatever Burnie ends up going with, I doubt the themes of letting go will be as tongue and cheek as the season 8 ending. But in the end, we just have to have faith.
@@4shotpastas Alright, man I really hope that last bit wasn't just reusing what was said in the season preview. Sorry for being suspicious there, but you'd be surprised how often I've seen people be a tad bit too into RvB to where they do that. 😂

This feels like losing a friend you've known a long time. While RvB says to not say "Goodbye", I know I'm going to have to when the finale comes out.
for most fans the series has been dead and buried for over a decade. this is "zombie rvb" if anything.
I personally enjoy the show, all of the shows, PSA, zero, time travel crazy shit and all. I just really enjoy the show. And feel bad for those who can’t…

The Wash & Caroline arc is the biggest thing I wouldn't want to lose. Despite the seasons it's in being kinda iffy (I still think 17 is great, though) it was probably the character arc that impacted me the most throughout the whole series. But for now, I trust in Burnie to do whatever's best for the series, and will wait and see.
In my opinion, I'm glad to see it go.
There's really not enough healthy depictions of male and female platonic relationships in media between single characters. Washington and Carolina would be an interesting relationship to explore but the second the relationship turned romantic the less interesting it became. Like, the absolute pinnacle of their relationship in Season 15+ from me would be in Season 15 where Carolina made a funny comment about Washington growing a beard. The tone she used, the fact she took note of it rather than shrugging it off, it was a good small moment.
Shipping the two freelancers like that was just lazy, unoriginal, and boring. Why couldn't they have developed more of a sibling relationship?

Season 17 was actually pretty good. Sure it picked up the pieces from 16, but did a pretty good job of it. Donut and wash jumping through time, seeing what characters were doing at certain points of the story. All of that, and more shenanigans from the past of the show. It was pretty fun all things considered.
The way I see it, seasons 15 to 18 are simulations created from Data that Church/Eplison had gotten access to. Since he and the others ended up on the Staff of Charon where Filiss is located. So it's not unlikely that she gave him access to the data regarding the Blues and Reds, the characters who shows up in Zero and research into the tech that the Ancient Aliens had worshipped. With the last one including data about unnamed gods.
After all, why would he include all that data in the simulations as variables if he didn't have access to it?
In regards to the Infinite engine, I think it might be like Season 10 where certain scenes are in Infinite but the bulk in “reality” are in Halo 4 since that’s what was used for Season 13 where it’s picking up from.
Season 10 mostly used Reach for the scenes inside Epsilon’s thoughts or a computer, but the bulk of the season was either full CGI or filmed in Halo 3. It would make sense to do that here especially considering how limited Infinite is compared to earlier games as far as filming the machinima scenes given coatings and lack of certain weapons like Sarge’s Shotgun.
Even if it’s not addressed, you could probably headcanon that the good stuff in 15-17 is an accurate simulation and will be what happens, but the other/bad stuff were parts of the simulation that won’t happen.
Hopefully it’ll end with an epilogue that at least hints at reality being similar to those good parts, but even if it changes the future events, I’m ultimately fine with it.
Also, Epsilon/Alpha never knew what was cool anyway ;)
What I like to think cause I enjoyed all up too 17 they just sent the sim troops back to this time to give them one last adventure with Church
I will really want the 3rd to last episode being called “the good” the penultimate episode being called “the bad” and the series finale will be the called “and the ugly” i that will be perfect for a show like this
Whatever Epsilon is trying to prepare for may actually involve what happened in season 3. The Alpha was put into those simulations that made him fail repeatedly and was split into more fragments.
i hope i am wrong when i say they'll probably end this last season with another "the hero never gets to see that ending"

I hope it ends with live action actors throwing their helmets into a hole while a whistle tune of blood gultch blues or contact plays ending with Caboose say goodbye Church with his helmet still on.

I feel like retconning out Seasons 15-18 was a necessary evil at this point. There re things in those seasons I honestly love. Locus in 15. The Griffs in 16. EVERYTHNG about 17. But the story and world became such a mess. It unfortunately NEEDED the reboot.
They should retcon it back to the end of Season 13. Sure there were some decent parts of 15-17, but overall it was trash and did a lot more damage than it had positives. So better to start from an amazing point and close it out the way the series deserves. Church should still die though.
It's literally starting at the end of 13 when they are suiting up.

Im actually REALLY hyped for this, if any one knows the characters its burnie and having him and Matt return to the helm is going to be amazing.
I also hope they bring back the voice actors who left as it wouldn't be the same without them in this last season
the final ending I can think of is the Reds and Blues ending up in a boxed canyon just talking and hanging out after a whole lot of chaos
Man I feel so out of the loop. I'm an OG. I started watching RvB before TH-cam was a thing when you had to hang out on their website and hit refresh a bunch of times because you knew they were gonna drop something and you wanted to download it before you were pushed off the server by the people at university with faster connections than yours. I started following during episode 3 or 4 back in season 1. I watched all the way up to season 10 when I bought the box set. And then life got busy and I more or less forgot about it. I just dusted off the old collection to show my kids and they love it, started buying the rest of the blu rays and well... it looks like I'm in for...uh...something. LOL
The next 3-4 seasons are great, I would stop after that for now though

id honestly prefer a full retcon of season 15+ none of it felt like red vs blue anymore, i rewatch S1-13 every year or so and i just cannot bring myself to power throught S15+. S11 was alittle awkward at the start but then took off running into 12. i wish it wouldve never happened but alot of stuff was going on behind the scenes wether it be with the cast and crews personal lives/leaaving entirely, or with the company as a whole. rvb somewhere in there completely lost its soul. 14 being an anthology is entertaining though it shouldnt really be considered a season. i just pray that 15+ will nolonger haunt me lol
I dont hate the idea of a retcon but the fact we are loosing some great wash and carolina stuff that definitely carried the last few seasons is a hgue shame if it is retconned

I hope they just get rid of Red Vs Blue season 15-19. It won't be missed, most of season 14 was fine, mostly pre-bloodgultch stuff anyway. I have no desire to ever rewatch the latest seasons to catch up to season 20, so getting rid of those garbage seasons would probably help for old viewers like myself to watch the newest season. I have a hope that Burnie will pull Red Vs Blue out of its power dive into a satisfying landing(ending) for the series. Haven't felt this exited for RvB to have a proper ending since season 5 ended, maybe season 10 as well.
Imagine if Sigma tries to turn Tucker into the new Meta? And then he becomes the main antagonist of the season.

One Final adventure before Goodbye
I'm personally all for the recons. Season 15 was decent, but at the time was the worst season for me. Then Season 16 decided take that spot as the worst season. Season 17 was alright, the biggest issue being that it had to continue the story of Season 16. Red vs. Blue Zero... do I even need to say it? It sucked. No matter how good the good stuff was, the bad far outweighed it. I'd rather have 15 good seasons than 14 good seasons and 4 bad seasons. If Restoration turns out to be bad though, well at that point Chorus would be the finale as it has been for me since the Shisno Paradox.
As for the story, I think it will largely take place in Church's simulations as he tries to find the best solution to save his friends. It's possible Epsilon-Sigma will try to interfere and revive the Alpha by becoming Metastable. I'm not sure if we'll see the real versions of the Reds and Blues and it will be just the Epsilon variants, or if we'll potentially cut to the real versions after the Chorus finale. We don't know everything obviously, but I feel this is a decent possibility.
i think zero wasnt as bad as you say, the only problem i had was the voice acting was delayed which drived me NUTS
I know its a long shot but i hope at during the final episode of red vs blue we'll get to see the gang without their helmets.

Cabooses new va has been improving overtime, he's not as good a replacement as Lopez's voice actor it's just that Joel is a tough act to follow
His voice is really bad, personally I think you can't do RVB without iconic cabosee but that's jus me
I just hope they dont kill caboose off since his voice actor isnt returning. Though I am fine if they get Sister to replace him for antics
In my opinion rvb already had the perfect ending that there could already be with church’s death.
While cool, i'm sad about season 17 and 15 being reconed. I loved those two seasons and it sucks that they never happened. Those i did like how they still paid respect to zero even thou it wasn't liked. Imo i liked it bit still. I'm still mixed on it. But overall I'm hyped

I somehow had the foresight to not watch past Season 13 and felt vindicated by your video on why S14 onwards are all trash, so Restoration retconning everything after that basically means I can party like it's 2015

I hate to say it, but when you said seasons 15 has good stuff, it really felt like you were just fishing for anything. There isnt a ton of good stuff from the seasons after 14.

I reckon I'd be fine if they used Loco's voice from season 15 since they sound pretty similar. I disagree on killing caboose, not only because he's one of the original main characters, but also since he's my favourite. I just hope they don't use the voice actor that they used for the Q vs A and the fps tips psa because he didn't sound anything like Joel.

the thing i liked about seasons 1 - 13, was it all still fit within the halo universe. then they dabbled with time travel and ruined all of it, but i feel like they may remember everything after still, as epsilon said he was preparing them, but how would he be preparing them without actually doing anything with them. i think he may send all the simulated data into their armor somehow, sort of how the AIs would leave messages in cabooses head for church to recover, however this time its him leaving memories.

This season is probably going to hurt us the most. After everything that happened since Season 10, then again after 13 and 14, this is probably going to be the best season in years.
But I'm glad Burnie is back and writing this season. This gives me hope, hope that this season will be the grandest finale Red vs Blue ever had.
Church definitely uses the Halo 5 model in the trailer. You can tell by the small black sections on the undersuit where the chest and shoulders meet.
Sigma does have an infinite model. Let's hope its all done in Infinite
Its actually Halo 4, and you can tell by literally just looking at it. The chest, the helmet...literally everything.

@@ryanscoffeehour6404it was halo 4 back in the chorus arc but in the trailer he swapped to the Halo 5 model you can tell by the texturing and armor, the armor used in chorus was the mk6 helmet with a bunch of other pieces for the rest. I do hope they swap back to halo 4 for the full season
Im extremely happy to see Burnie Burns back, I quit after he left for a different reason, i was in a coma and now I'm happy to see him back it can end now

They advertised unreal engine at the end so maybe we will see the full fight now seeing as church changes simulation seeing as unreal engine is more convinient than blender in terms of enviroments. I hope torrian isnt too mad about zero feeling pointless now but it was a huge fan change so. I hope they do some sort of sinister six group since the villians could be potentally out there in the RvB universe. lol
overall the only solid loss will be the character development but if it's one or the other we can agree that retconning it all is better
Zero retcon I couldn’t love more, 14/15-17 had good stuff, but too much of it just wasn’t good/jumped the shark so I don’t mind losing them either.
Written by Burnie, directed by Matt, this could truly be the best possible send off for this series. I enjoyed Miles’ writing as well, and I think that the fact that they’re not retconning those seasons shows how good of a job he did, but the Burnie/Matt combo can’t be beat.
I was both excited and sad when the trailer dropped. Gamma, theta, and I think sigma got new models 🙂. Be a bit of a shame if season 14 is retconed. I thought some of those stories could’ve fit in to RvB fairly well.
I think 14 is still cannon because it just tells stories from the corners of the rvb Universe and unless we see something that actively retcons 14 then obviously stories like the sarge movie, or the death battle episodes are probably not cannon but the prequel episodes are fine
@@lazyliongames6660 Well seeing as how many episodes were mostly just jokes, I think it's fair to say that certain episodes in 14 can be considered canon. How the blood gulch teams came to be, starting with Grif and Simmons, Sarge's incredibly convoluted scheme to eliminate his competition, to Tucker being chosen for blue team since he was the worst candidate (which is what flowers was looking for in all of them).

The only season I wish they retcon is zero mainly because I really did enjoy a lot of Washington’s development that actually felt very mature and heartfelt, especially that scene in season 16 when the team is being broken apart as the Metas theme plays
I don’t like the Shinzo Paradox story but I could understand what they were trying to go for as a kind of a back to basics blood gulch chronicals back when Church was still a ghost
I really enjoyed 15 & 17, as well as some parts of 16, as a whole the story idea for Seasons 16 & 17 wasn't bad, per say, it just wasn't RvB, it would've worked had it been in another show, but for a show grounded like RvB, it was a bad idea in concept, I think 17 is an example of executing a bad idea well, I loved a lot of the character moments throughout the Shizno Trilogy, and by 17 I think I managed to forgive 16, there's no excuse for 18's terrible quality though

Does that mean that the PSAs and Q vs. A were also simulations? Q vs. A was in Halo Infinite, and the PSAs were in basically random Halos, so I'd like to know if they were real or also simulations.
The PSAs were never canon, and I'm assuming the Q&A stuff is the same.
Has anyone noticed that the series' quality strangely followed the quality of the Halo game that they were shot in? The ones in Halo CE to Halo 3 got progressively better, the series stumbled a bit on Halo 4, and then the series lost its mind on Halo 5 Guardians. Now, on Halo Infinity they are going to be trying to bring back what was done in the Halo CE to Halo 4 (kinda).

I can tell cuz chest is halo 5 and halo 4 chest was different even tho they had same armor, the difference is halo 4 is cleaner and smooth with the armor and halo 5 is less smooth with freckles like you kinda see, and plus it's easy with chest cuz idk why they didn't have normal chest unless it wasn't made with the game at the time and they didn't wanna change it
The first 10 seasons were not great. The first 7 seasons were great. The show got significantly worse when they brought Monty on, and season 10 was not good.
They should take it back to halo 3. That’s the iconic RvB that we all love. Also sigma is halo reach No?

what I like about the premis of of Restoration you can put it in the time line where you want, If you didnt like 11 onwards then yeah this is the canon point, but if you enjoyed RVB up to 17 then you can just say, when they fixed the timeline they was sent back to this spot and even if you liked ZERO (god forbid) then well its explained too
Im rewatching RvB because of the restoration trailer, so Im probably to watch through the trainwreck that is rvb zero.

Cannot wait for the new and final season of RVB. I have been a fan since the release of season 1 in 2003, which is the same year I experienced Halo for the first time; so, that coincided well with each other.
I'm so happy that the final season has been put into the right hands, it's a breath of fresh air when so many things nowadays, especially the Halo series have become lackluster.
I love that no one is talking about that he’s even doing these simulations in the first place cause if they were all always gonna make it out of that room together alive then why is he running them ?
