I so admire John the Baptist's humility especially toward Jesus. He did not think it a thing to be equal with Jesus, much less to be above Jesus. He knew, understood and graciously accepted his role. He was the FORERUNNER of Jesus, NOT his competitor. When his mission was completed he gladly handed the baton to Jesus and encouraged his followers to turn to Jesus also. He HUMBLED himself in the sight of the Lord and was EXALTED in due season. Help me Holy Spirit to get there quickly. Amen

I might be the first to say that the intro music sounds so comforting.
Might be.
This simple tune has been played millions of times as part of the lessons since three of my grandchildren, Brianna, Mitch, and Nick, composed it about 13 years ago. As adolescents I asked them to compose something unique which could be used and accepted worldwide. Now as adults, one is a Physiotherapist, one a nurse, and one a science-maths teacher. And still all involved in music.

Last sabbath, only MARK 1:1 was read in sabbath school at my local SDA church!!! DO SDA's fulfill MARK 8:38? Most SDA ("People of the book") have never read the whole bible or even the whole new testament ONCE in their whole life. Mark is 678 verses long and most of those verses will not even be read over 13 weeks in sabbath school classes. Members will discuss or argue topics instead. SO by the end of the quarter, even MARK will not be read! " Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down." Mark 7:13
