  • I have said in the past that I enjoy the look and of the 4 Runner and I have always wanted to drive it. It lived up to my expectations very well and I have to say I was impressed.

I’m more interested in what the 4Runner TRD Off Road thinks about you.

He is genuinely confused about its archaic nature 😅 This car is from a different epoch - one of the many selling points of the great 4Runner. Well, can’t say much about the 6th gen.

Power tailgate should be optional, I'm not handicapped, so it works fine for me, I don't want all that power crap that when it breaks, u can't open or close the damn door, everybody is different. Got a 24 TRD off road premium 3 months ago, that back door works fine for me, doesn't take much to open it, glad I was able to get one of the last simple, reliable, quality built Toyota vehicle models, I also have a 98 Tacoma & they just don't make anything like they used to anymore.

That button is for auto high beams not auto headlights. There is no auto headlights on the Off Road. I think it is Limited and TRD Pro only.

Only one USB port - just stop :-) you don't understand the purpose of this car. Although there is the option for dual USB fast-charge ports when buying this car. So this USB for the Apple CarPlay/Android and plus the dual-port fast-charge USB, so 3 USB ports total in the front. You can add it for some price, not big. This car just doesn't have it because they didn't add it when they ordered it.

Great review. Most people who buy these think they're going to climb mountains when all they do is crawl the mall parking lot. These don't handle well on road, sucks gas, over priced, nothing good about it except for the Toyota name.

Reliability is definitely there and it was comfortable to drive. But lots of downs for daily use

This is the dumbest comment I’ve ever seen. First of all, tons of people take these off road. Massive community for it. Second and most important, it’s a freaking tank. There are still 4th gens cruising everywhere you look with 300k miles on them. They are the most well built suv on the market and it’s not close. They are simple, capable, reliable, and a hell of a lot of fun. And this is coming from someone who got a grand Cherokee over this and regrets it every day. Toyota has the name for a reason

I have a 97 4Runner that has 338k. Yes, it’s a gas hog, but so freaking reliable and trail beast. I have no issues driving down the road even with a 4 speed slush box.

@@mattbrown942my 3rd gen has 338k, no CEL and besides clear coat failure, it looks great.
