I never could figure out why they didn't do a Haunted Mansion restaurant? It would always be packed. This themed bar is the next best thing. It's a no-brainer, well-loved theme and you don't see it anywhere else. It's amazing to me that Universal Studios never created a spooky dark ride.
There is still resistance to adult beverages in the MK being a reason to go there. As there should be. There are several places to get a cocktail in MK. As there should be. I am about to enter my 50th year going to WDW. That place cannot become a drinking destination. EPCOT, Springs or dozens of resort bars are available if you want to booze it. I really miss Pleasure Island. Corporate meeting travel and PI made for some memorable trips to Orlando that had nothing to do with the parks. ConGaloosh !
Reservations need to go, Genie + needs to go, Lightning Lane needs to go! Bring back standard stand-by queues and Fast Pass. Personally, I've been officially priced out of renewing my Annual Pass and will be letting it expire next August and will plan an annual trip instead during the California Resident discount ticket days only.
None of that is happening anytime soon

Annual pass want to be. Unfortunately I'm also priced out of Disneyland. I live in Temecula and have to price in $100 travel each visit. [Gas, 91freeway pass, parking equal $100 just to get to the gate.]

It’s a great marketing attempt by the DW to launch their new kids programming. Their heart is definitely in developing content for kids and families.

We were DVC members for over 20 years then Disney began acting like they were doing us a favor every time we tried to book a resort, so we said "good-bye' to Disney, and sold all our DVC points. We never looked back.

I wish they would make a key for out of state guests, it’s getting harder to come to the park because of ticket prices and availability, and finding a place to stay for a reasonable price is just about impossible, and I used to have the AP (the flex pass) it worked great for me, I miss the old Disney days.

Disney should make a new park in Vegas. It fits their agenda perfectly, a city with huge tourism numbers but a smaller magic key crowd presence. Year round weather conditions, land is cheap, makes total sense in my book
We fly in from South Carolina we go through Vegas to get to Anaheim because that’s cheapest fare. So we do combo trip of DL and Vegas

Hi FB! I definitely go to the park less with the reservation system. I can only have 2 reservations at a time so I book them ahead so I can get the dates I need. In the past, I would go spur of the moment but now I would have to cancel one of my reservation and there is no guarantee I'll be able to rebook it. Hence, I stay home when I would have gone in the past before the "stupid" reservation system. DL is a 1 1/2 hour drive from my home. Not too far. I am assuming this is how Disney keeps magic keys out of the parks. It works!
Agree we bought the believe key but we’re letting it expire in November because of the price hike
When I had a Dream Key, it wasn't a matter of getting the dates that I wanted. The main problem was how hard I'd have to work to get the dates that I want because the reservation system interfered with the Magic Key program. I still don't have a Magic Key because the reservation system is still in place, which is Disney's fault, and because I don't have a friend who also wants to buy a Magic Key, which is my fault. I'm not really looking for that friend while the reservation system is still in place, though. I've got time. . . .

I got the survey as well. I kind of wonder what they will do with the data. I really wish they’d get rid of the penalty for no show on a reservation. No one can plan for an emergency. I also feel that they need to do more for key holders, like special nights, not just merchandise and random food offerings.

In my opinion, Disney doesn't need to build a 5th gate in Orlando. But they do NEED to UPGRADE the existing parks! Epcot - It's a mess right now. World showcase has so much potential with the current set up. It just needs more rides. Look how successful Frozen and Ratatouille have been. Mexico needs a coco upgrade. And there should be some sort of ride in just about every pavilion. England was supposed to get a Mary poppins ride. Even if its just small for the kids. I think they could do Alladian in Morrocco and Mulan in china. As for the rest of the park. Just keep building out more rides! Upgrade Test track and Spaceship Earth. I could go on an on. Animal Kingdom in my opinion is very close to being a fantastic park! But dinoland is crap. All they need to do is re-theme it to South America and retheme the dino ride to Indiana Jones. This is a no brainer!! And they already have that train that kinda goes to nowhere. At the end of the train, you should enter a Zootopia Land. It's literally a movie about Animals!! Hollywood Studios is also not that far off from being great. Just needs upgrades to older rides and lands. Honestly, if they would retheme Star Wars land from Sequel Series to even the Mando-verse it would be huge. Lastly, that leaves Magin kingdom. Now that Tron is complete, I would leave this park alone until everything else is finished/upgraded. Then, they can do that backlot expansion beyond the rivers of america. I mean its this...or a 5th gate...or LOOSE out to Universal.
Just watched your segment on magic keys and the survey. Here’s my “poor me” who lives 400miles away and stopped getting annual passes after they introduced Magic key program: I’m furious. I work the typical M-F job. I can’t get my ROI with the top tier out of the year and next tier has nearly all Saturdays blocked.
I often try visiting spring, Oct and Xmas time. It’s now easier and cheaper for me to get individual day tix vs even considering any key pass and deal with the reservation thing.
this is an example of that guest that disney has lost. you gave up because disney created too many roadblocks. Would you have given up if there was no reservation system?
@@freshbakedpresentsit would make my planning and coordinating much easier. I have a fluid set of friends/family who join my random visits constantly. Even my own kids missed out because of certain days being unavailable (especially around holiday times when they don’t even get their work schedule a week ahead)
Then try adding the stress of finding a hotel or addl room in short notice.
I'm only 60 miles away and have the exact same issue. Hope to renew in September 2024, but only if my income improves. Crazy

I will be at Disneyland on November 10th and 12th! Is this treehouse mostly for kids or what's the big deal about it? Is it like an obstacle course?
Our entire family will be watching the Daily Wire classic version of the tale. The comments Disneys lead actress made about the film were such a slap in Walts face. He would not tolerate that if he were still in charge.
Paid full price for (4) tickets into DCA..... SUPRISE, forced to leave park at 6:00pm because of Oogie Boogie Bash. No prorate price or perk for some other time. People w/o park hoppers didn't have fallback to go over to DL. RIP OFF!
Thanks for another informative, fun video. I agree that the reservation system has failed me! I go less even though I have a top tier pass. This has made me reconsider if I want to renew. Because of the limitations of reservations, I have found myself looking at other ways to use my time. Sad to say....The reservation system has weaned my frequency to go to Disneyland. So Sad because I Love Disneyland!

Hi David, What I don't understand is why have block out dates for the highest key? And Inspire should have more reservations allowed. Really would like to see whole reservation system gone. It's gone in Florida, isn't it? I don't feel appreciated at all as MKH. Love Disneyland though, not the operations part.
The reason is that Disney got sued for claiming a pass had no blockout days, even though it didn’t.
Because of the suit, all passes now have some sort of restriction.
WDW Reservations stop Jan 1, they are still using them. And a 2pm Park Hopper Rule!

I, as a disabled person did not have a good time a Universal Studios in California. My group could not stay together for the rides. That said they seem to be much more intuned to the consumer. If they keep that up they will leave Disney in their dust. Disney must wake up and get back to what Walt had in mind when he developed Disney.
They’ll never leave disney in the dust so long as they continue to focus on screen based rides. Which disney has been cheaping out on as well lately. Decorations are cute and all, an immersive experience, but both universal and disney spend so much money on distracting everyone with decorations so we don’t notice the new rides are weak as hell
David lowkey pressed that the Daily Wire (Conservative Company) is trying to do their own version of Snow White but yet other companies did the same thing ex Warner Bros.
I really wish they would include Genie+ in the inspire magic key and just charge more overall. Actually getting rid of genie plus would be even better. WE get res roughly 60% of the time we want one. charge more on the inspire pass and give us back the entire year no blackouts. Stop the reservation system for the inspire key. I'm ok with paying more if i get more. But they are giving us less and charging more--its like they are punishing their customers
when they talk about offering things we want, that is something. They gave MaxPass to Sig pass holders back in the day. They should do the same for inspire. Or offer a year long a la carte option.

I don't think i ever want to go back to Disney. My mom offered to take me and i begged for us to go at the end of November when the tickets are $134 because i wanted to make sure the Christmas decorations were done since I've always wanted to go during Christmas time. My mom wanted to go on the 15th when the tickets were cheaper. I convinced her of the later date and then afterwards i found out her favorite ride would be closed. I switched the tickets to the 15th for her, but Disney refused to refund the $60 in exchange for the lower price tickets. Now my mom is mad at me. Also the people on the phone were very rude to me and actually made me cry. The first people were nice, but when they transferred me to their supervisors they were so mean. We're going anyways because of the money that was spent, but i can't even see myself enjoying my time there. I don't want to support a company like this.

Wow, Disney opened a tree house. In that time, Universal has almost completed a whole new theme park. I've lost interest in a tree house. I want to immerse myself into a new Universe.

Hi David. We are excited about the opening of the Tree House. When we saw the possible "7" dwarfs, we are stunned. They are not dwarfs, so, actually, it looks like the story has been altered to fit in today's society and we are not sure how we feel about that. Yet, we are trying to keep an open mind about it. Competition is always good for the customer base!! Hope it is a hit, so Disney will get back to its roots. Love Disneyland, but they are making more bad decision than good with currremt leadership.

Disney had not only created a “sense of urgency” with the reservation.
More importantly, they’ve created a punishment system. The sense that you will LOSE your PAID privilege to go to the parks on a regular basis if you “change your mind” or if something comes up at the last minute, has made it so most of us WILL show up, rain or shine, sick or not.
There’s a reason why even the “slowest” periods we were used to pre-pandemic were now surprisingly always steady. Even in the rain.
Once you’re locked in… you’re locked in. And sadly, Disney is probably banking on that aspect.

Universal just holds no interest to me, doubt I will ever go to the one in Florida, it just lacks the Disney charm to me. I’ve only been to the one in California twice and have no desire to go back really and I live in California.

Hi David. Your same reasoning can be applied to Disney as it concerns what their motivations are in such a drastic departure of Walts first motion picture? I recognize you try to walk a fine line as both a Disney fan and critic. But we both know what's happening here. The Disney Co. has been compromised by a younger generation of idealogues who wish to rebrand Walt's vision. They're blinded to what fans of Disney want and it's destroying their brand. Ive been boycotting it since the beginning. quite vocally. hasn't made a damn bit of difference.
Universal is going after Disney in the long term. They know, not as many kids go now becuase it is too expensize. More kids went in the 70s 80 and 90s because it was affordable and we all go as adults now. Well, Disney is not going have a surplus of adults like usin 20 years. I think Disney is on a slow downward trend to being second to Universal unfortunately.

They just need to make a great movie. Lil. Mermaid was much better than I thought it would be. Not a great movie like Barbie, but a good movie. For $400 it has to be great. It's going to be the same story, stories never change, with modern characters. What you should be doing is trying to match the qualities to the cast. Does anyone look sleepy?
it used to be that Disney could make that extra $400 million just by being a disney production. same for marvel. a $400 million movie turns into an $800 million movie. that is no longer the case.

Dave, I agree the Live Wire movie may be a shot at Disney, but what if they do make a live version of Snow White that pays homage to the original in a live format? That could do well.
Disney is in a spot right now they want to get rid of the season pass altogether so they created the reservation system and changed it to magic keys in hopes that people would stop buying the passes. Unfortunately their greed has caused them to raise ticket food and merch prices making the passes with their discounts more appealing. Im currently paying around $120 a month for my pass and i go twice a month compared to paying close to $170 for one day without discounts. Disney is creating their own problems they cant get rid of the pass system its a amusement industries standard and would hurt them publicly. But they also cant punish pass holders who are paying for this exact service were giving them a year of business guaranteed whether we go often enough to make back what were paying in were locked in thats merch sales food sales guaranteed within a healthy margin. The greed is really getting to the company and it makes me sad.
Agree, they need to get back to basics, get new management, and with coming hyper inflation it is going to rough.
Disney did the same thing in 08 right before the GFC (economic crash) They were adamantly trying to force APs out of the parks. It was the same argument then as it is now. "To many APs come in and ruin the experience for once in a lifetime/once a year guest" They forget that it is actually the AP that comes in and spends $100 on food every month and not the once a year person that comes in a spends $200 for food and merch that keeps the lights on. This is why you keep hearing the per guest spending brought up during the conference calls. They are not looking at the per year total from an AP only each visit.
Reservations do need to go away. I like knowing I will have a spot when I get there but it's causing too many restrictions on people. Just let it go Disney.

I think Daily Wire is trying to invoke the CLASSIC Snow White. And personally I Think Rachel is just cringe and seems to not even enjoy working on this classic story. I'm a huge Disney gal, but I have no interest in seeing her portray Snow White. And let's be honest the Dwarves were the HEROES of this movie, not having them is a huge miss.

Even Snow White is just a family movie, so it's whatever - if they want to out-Disney Disney for the sake of it, fine.
But they also have this new children's programming service, and the way they market it is very... icky. Children's programming, above all else, has to come from a genuine place of wanting to educate, entertain, and pique the curiosity. But they have been explicitly marketing it as anti-Disney and anti so-called "woke". It instills no confidence they're getting into the business for the right reasons.
If you do some research, the daily wire one is based on the original fairytale, not Disney’s. That’s why her hair is long and such. It’s not meant to be a replica of Disney’s 1937 film.

I’ve been under the impression that DW is trying to offer a version of Snow White that represents the values of its core audience, since the Disney version seems like it will not. I’ve heard that so far what DW has created is very good, so I have high hopes for their Snow White.

BentKey provides a return to traditional family programming. Disney has been spending far too much on films with big name stars and politically motivated story lines & characters. I love the parks and the Star Wars universe, but not so much some of the new stuff.

Again, not all of the engines needed to keep Disney afloat are firing. Disney movies and animation are all suffering due to poor writing and they're losing money left and right. The Parks and Experiences group and the cruise lines are keeping this company solvent. The parks, especially Disneyland are beating inflation without issue. All of these mechanisms that we despise are being used to offset the losses from the other divisions. Parking is now $30, Genie+ is at least $30, LL is a slap in the face and the Magic Keys show us how manipulated we all are in this. Remember all of you that were cheering on Iger....this is all because of his decisions.

Haunted Mansion Halloween theming is amazing!
Mickey & Minnie Runaway Railway story, theming and effects are perfection!
Those (fewer these days, sadly) stellar cast members that make the visit special.
Frozen Mocha at Ghirardelli in DCA. Yum.
Beautiful monorail train decorations.
DCA nighttime Halloween lighting.
Mobile ordering.
BAD:
Double-wide Strollers
Over-hyped Mickey 'Pumpkin' cupcake. (plain vanilla cake with orange icing)
Worn, sadly outdated, tired bathrooms in Disneyland Hotel room.
Too many attractions 'down' at same time. Ticket prices should be reduced accordingly.
Having to use cell phone so much to survive in the parks.
Spotty cell phone/DL App operation.
No pumpkin pie anywhere.
No pumpkin beneigts.
No place to sit when having Mickey Beneigts and Mint Julips. All tables are for Tiana's Restaurant now.
Mostly bored, unhappy looking cast members operating rides.
Price of plain bottled water is too high.
Too much alcohol now in DL.
Miserable LA/Anaheim traffic to get to the parks.
UGLY:
Rude and reckless EV riders (mostly just obese, not ill)
Cast members giving directions in rude tones of voices.
Being forced out of DCA at 6:00pm because of Oogie Boogie Bash. Tickets should have been prorated.
Not being 'allowed' to use luggage carts at DL Hotel.
Window drapes and bed headboards incredibly dusty in DL Hotel room! Opening drapes triggered allergy sneezing.
Not being able to see the nighttime Villains light show in Redwood Creek (DCA). Only for Oogie Boogie Bash.
Gay couples in excessive PDA's with no regard to little kids around.

The Daily Wire is a right wing media organization. You’re right that they’re trend jacking, their goal is to market to right wing people who are upset with disney for their “woke” stances. They provide an alternate, let’s say nostalgic version of the film, to cater to that audience.
