The weight came and went and took my will to live Spoiled by defeat, forced to drown in what's left of me That's when breathing became routine And I could feel myself fading I am stranded No direction, I am a compass Constantly spinning Constantly spinning Constantly searching for the end Never reaching our destination But the goal was never when Or where Or who... It was only you I appeared in your arms as if I had been born there You promised you'd never let me go But I don't know what I believe anymore Affection allowed me to let the light in The fear made me whole again Help me rebuild my broken bones Help me regain my sanity But with caution always present Our pasts manifest themselves And we act as if this is what we deserve But I refuse to fail again I'd force my ghost to write your name in the flowers on my grave I watched the world give up on me I used to spend my nights praying for air in my bloodstream Now I long to feel your breath pass throughout my arteries The goal was never when Or where Or who... It was only you I appeared in your arms as if I had been born there You promised you'd never let me go But I don't know what I believe anymore Fill me with your faith and let me leave I'm scratching at my skin to take my mind Off the absence we've created The lines blur together like the veins in my arms And I wish I wasn't so alone You're the difference between hell and home
Curious what make/model the guitarist on the bottom w/ the blue guitar is playing. I can't quite make out the logo on the headstock, nor do I recognize it. Anyway, love this song!
If the comments are still active, can anyone give me advice on how i would pursue learning their songs or at least point me in the right direction of what i would need to know in order to gain the ability to play their songs?
You can learn by watching this guitar demonstration easily, just learn to play those power chords tight, and start slowly of course. For lead guitar you have to be a lot more skilled.
@@Shollyme ah alright. I've been blocking myself by thinking I don't wanna learn if I can't actually name the chords and mechanics I'm using. But everyone starts somewhere
@@lostisles5850 It all comes naturally, and this is hardcore, people really don't care about names of the chords as long as it sounds good and heavy :)
Travis Clement It's not that easy, and I am too lazy to do so. Was that comment really necessary? I'm also not going to give you what you want and respond in a vengeful manor. I hope you are able find other ways to expel your pent up rage from god knows what.
Rage? Hardly so. Playing by ear is just a valuable skill to have. I believe they have tabs on ultimate guitar I'll screenshot and send assuming you don't have a pro account. Hope it helps.
Travis Clement Appreciate the link, but really. You didn't have to be such a smartass. Just because you can easily play by ear, does not mean that its a piece of cake for me. I can play very well technically, (I would like to think), but I have a difficult time concentrating enough to learn songs by ear. I have lyme disease, which absolutely ruins my memory, and saps my ability to concentrate. So think before you speak next time. You never know what someone may be dealing with. I'm not trying to start an argument. I am just informing you.
Their writing skills are crazy. Love watching these guys and the story so far. Such good articulate writing
Guitar genius'. The chords they use are so crazy and the musicianship is outstanding
It’s absolutely insane how great of musicianship this is, all while making song have a good flow....
counterparts is just an amazing band
2:19 I love the switch toggle sound (looks like I’m a few years late to this video lol)
this breakdown STILL HITS
These dudes could make serious cash off a tab book.
I realllllly would love a tab book from these guys. hahaha I would learn all the songs
+1 this idea is excellent.
Are you joking? Its mostly bar chords lmao
@@OrphanCrippler1 you obviously never seen real Counterparts tabs.
9 years later but they made tabs for their last two albums
My favorite counterparts song
The weight came and went and took my will to live
Spoiled by defeat, forced to drown in what's left of me
That's when breathing became routine
And I could feel myself fading
I am stranded
No direction, I am a compass
Constantly spinning
Constantly spinning
Constantly searching for the end
Never reaching our destination
But the goal was never when
Or where
Or who...
It was only you
I appeared in your arms as if I had been born there
You promised you'd never let me go
But I don't know what I believe anymore
Affection allowed me to let the light in
The fear made me whole again
Help me rebuild my broken bones
Help me regain my sanity
But with caution always present
Our pasts manifest themselves
And we act as if this is what we deserve
But I refuse to fail again
I'd force my ghost to write your name in the flowers on my grave
I watched the world give up on me
I used to spend my nights praying for air in my bloodstream
Now I long to feel your breath pass throughout my arteries
The goal was never when
Or where
Or who...
It was only you
I appeared in your arms as if I had been born there
You promised you'd never let me go
But I don't know what I believe anymore
Fill me with your faith and let me leave
I'm scratching at my skin to take my mind
Off the absence we've created
The lines blur together like the veins in my arms
And I wish I wasn't so alone
You're the difference between hell and home
“I appeared in your arms as if I had been born there”, why does that hit so hard
How do you even invent all these chords?
In the more "Djent-ish" genres those are pretty normal chords lol
***** How can i learn those?
rain51db just listen to Djent bands and learnt their tabs. After learning a few Djent songs compose your own music with the new chords you learned
Right man i cant keep up
@@josemendoza1746 learnt

Yeah was going to say Paul Reed Smiths are some of the best looking/sounding guitars in my opinion. I have one and I love it so much.

The ultimate guitar app has a lot of tabs for a good chunk of their material.
