      Hi all just wanted to update! My daughter was born at chop in Philly at the children hospital. She was born on thanksgiving 11-24-22. She immediately needed oxygen and the balloon procedure. She was placed in cardiac critical intensive care unit for 4 days after . She has her arterial switch operation. She blossomed, after her surgery and was home 6 days after the surgery. She is a true blessing and I am so thankful everyday for her . She see local cardiology , they are extremely pleased with everything. All I can say it is extremely difficult but stay positive. My thoughts and prayers are with the families that are going through this now and now ♥️♥️

    Shana - thank you SO much for sharing your story. I just had my baby boy yesterday and after noticing his low oxygen levels, they were able to identify TGA within 4 hours from birth. We are so lucky that our hospital has the best NICU in Florida ❤️ doctors are still working to rule out any other complications, but my dream is that this will be his only major challenge and that he will follow in the footsteps of your son and so many other babies with success stories. Thank you for sharing so we feel less alone and can find hope.

    Thank you for sharing your story. My son and his partner just had their first baby this morning and found out he has TGA. He is having the balloon inserted as I am writing this. The plan to do the 2nd surgery on Monday. We all have been in shock since this morning but your video truly gave me hope and clarity. I just forwarded it to my son and I think he will really appreciate your story. Thank you so much and God bless you and your family!

    Thank you for sharing your story. My daughter is having her arterial switch in a couple days. She also has D TGA. We didn’t find out until she was born and it completely caught us off guard. They had to fly her out to another city and she’s been in the CICU since she’s been born and she’s already about to be 3 months old. She couldn’t have it done sooner because she had complications from a different surgery she had to have before for imperforate anus. She’s finally ready and so are we! We’re ready to go home with our baby and be together as a family again.

      The surgery went great thank God! We made it home a couple weeks before Christmas. It’s amazing how strong babies can be. We made it home a little later than expected because her incision opened up so they wanted us to stay local until it got better which it did. Thank you again for sharing your experience! I hope you and your family had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 😊

    Hi Shana, thank you so much for sharing your experience 🙏🏻 my son diagnosed right after birth and surgery was performed on day 3 and he’s still in hospital for recovery. Today is day 13 after operation and he’s having his feeding normally but still under minimal ventilator support.
    Did you have a similar experience where oxygen level drops when ventilation tube is taken off ? We’re now day 13 after operation and doctors are saying that this is the only remaining milestone for him to be released and go home.
    Again thanks for sharing, your story made us feel relieved and hopeful ❤

    hello, we weren't diagnosed during pregnancy, but right after birth. Our son had an arterial switch operation 5 days ago and now he is recovering. for us this period of time (even after surgery) is extremely difficult.

    We just got this diagnosis at 23 week anatomy scan. It's terrifying to wrap our head around, but im hopeful and faithful that the outcome will be positive. I do have a question though...we're you able to breastfeed at any point? Did your baby latch after you went home?

    • @stylewithshana6694
      @stylewithshana6694  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! I remember those same feelings! And yes, I wa able to breastfeed a little in the hospital and full time at home - I pumped and they gave him my milk through a feeding tube for a little while - but he did latch and it was fine. That was actually one of my concerns too! I would ask if you can try and get a consult - the hospital will have them and it’s okay to ask - even with all the chords - we were able to practice with the consultant in the hospital :) send info you love and prayers! These babies are so much stronger than we think! ❤️❤️❤️
