I'm a big fan of Swamy but can't make sense of his views on China. He is too enamoured by the Chinese. China and India certainly share cultural roots of dharmic tradition and that is something that we will always be respectful about. However china is a jealous competitor and a sore losers. They just cant digest india's success; they resent our space programme and other scientific achievements. They scorn at us whenever there is an effort by India to join major international forums like the security council or NSG. The Chinese know very well about how Kashmiri pandits were evicted out by Pakistani sponsored jihadi; yet they support them shamelessly. They expect us to endorse Tibet and Taiwan as integral parts of China but scoff at us when India asks for the same reciprocity on Kashmir. India should maintain an equation with China but stay very firm on issues of concern to us and put China on notice.. With China it can only be give and take..nothing else.. We can and should have friend ship but not bonhomie overflowing with Goodwill..that is just impossible There is a myth around the world the china is in the same league as the unites States. In truth they are no where near it. The best that they can do to compete with the Americans is imitate them, or worse, steal from them...

India and China have existed for millennia without any major conflict taking place apart from the past 70 years. It is the US that we need to be cautious about. Yes, China is expanding territorially but that is bound to happen when you reach a certain geopolitical level to influence international diplomacy. India may do the same in the future as well. US did it, UK did it. France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Italy did it. So that's not an exclusive phenomenon. And FYI we have already considered Tibet and Taiwan as part of China officially. The Tibetan government doesn't exist and Taiwan has no representation in the UN. So, do some research before making a fool of yourself on a public platform.
