So lovely. I am enamored by the fact that for example Gong Fu style treats each tea as a jewel. We are meant to smell the aroma before we even taste it with the rinsing of the leaves. The first pour being a beautiful cup full of aromatics and color and exquisite taste. Tea jewels...much like your lovely videos. Thank you "Olivia." Forgive my informality as I do not know your family name.

I stumbled on this trying to find out how to set up a Chinese home dinner table. I'm very glad I did.

Thank you ❤. I brew dry. Our water is horrible so we buy bottles of water. So I try not using too much.

I enjoyed this video very much! I think I go for a light coloured bamboo tray, rectangular shape.

What a nice and informative video, thank you!
    1) What is the volume/size of the bowl? Is 400 ml enough?
    2) I've seen some tea masters sending the tea leaves around for guest to sniff it, but it seems a little bit unhygienic. Is it ok to skip this step and only show the leaves from some distance?

Bowl ...is it the Gaiwan you are referring to? if so that is about 150ml. if you are referring to the waste bowl, those come in all difference sizes. the one on the table is about 650ml.
i agree with you on passing the leaves around to smell is a bit unhygienic. showing from a distance is totally fine. the tea performer needs to be in charge of how it should be done. An alternate choice for smelling the tea, can be a sniffing cup for each guest.

So, if I were to have a very mismatched and colorful tea set; what would that say about me?
