Christmas baking:
Coconut macaroons (not those fancy little sandwiches, just baiser heaps) and butter cookies for rolling out, attacking with different cookie cutters and decorating before or dipping into dark chocolate after baking.
And a very German one: Vanillekipferl.
Love them, but they are a lot of work and not the type of work you can excite children for.
It's a very buttery dough with ground almonds or hazelnuts and you form tiny crescent moons out of the well chilled dough and turn each of them in vanilla sugar while they are still hot.
If you have a good recipe they'll melt away on your tongue.
Here you can buy moulds for them but actually it makes a noticable difference if they are hand formed from cold firm dough or if room temperature dough is just pressed into a mould. The lazy version still is good enough though.
They are usually the ugly ducklings in every christmas cookie tin, but sooooooooooo good.

That sounds so good! I make a cookie that has almond extract in it around Christmas time :) doesn’t sound as good as yours tho!
