    I was excited for this helmet. After trying it at the dealer i passed on it. the breath deflector just sucked IMO.....After this review Im glad i didnt buy it....Thanks

      Snowblind the deflector does suck! I’m hoping they do something different this year but I’ll be trying another one, just in a smaller size. Most likely try the Carbon as well.

    I picked one up...and I'm extremely happy with it. I haven't found the same issues with it, and the deflector isn't a deal breaker for me. Great review.

    I have this helmet, after 30 years of sledding and COUNTLESS helmets, this one is by far the best snowmobile helmet ever made

    Do you have issues with condensation/liquid build up in the helmet. I have the ski-doo modular 3 right now and after like 45 minutes the breath box fills up with so much liquid that when i take the helmet off it literally pours out like water.

    • @maineboatguy
      @maineboatguy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes inside the breath box does collect a bit of condensation. But I believe most of it gets pulled out the vents when riding at higher speeds, slow trails and off trail it'll build up quite a bit. I'm trying the ski doo oxygen without a breath box this season, I'll do a video on that one in a month or so!

      @@maineboatguy ill turn post notifications on! the only off-putting thing about the oxygen. For me at least. Is the weight. My modular 3 weighs 4 and 1/2 lbs. The ckx weighs 3 and 1/2 lbs. And I think the oxygen weighs more towards my modular. I've always kind of cheaped out on helmets and I'm kind of sick of it. I want less weight..warm... non wet experiences from here on out lol

      @@djofulll I agree 100% warmth and weight are my biggest concern, per ckx website the mission is just a hair over 4 lbs with the electric shield, oxygen is just a hair under 4lbs. Feels light so far but only riding around my field.

    Very cool helmet! How do you like it now after using it all season?

    • @maineboatguy
      @maineboatguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Love it! Wish I had the correct size though, next year I’ll drop one size to get a tighter fit on the face mask/shield that keeps the shield from fogging. Thankfully I’ve got the heated shield. Otherwise it’s warm and comfortable.

      @@maineboatguy I can't seem to find a picture of the heated shield wire. Will it work with old sleds that offer heated shield compatibility? My Arctic cat firecat F7 just has a male and female end . So they sell different wires ends?

      Anything Adrenaline these come with everything needed to install it on your sled but it should just plug right in. 👍

    thanks, thinking about this helmet for an adventure motorcycle. So if I wear a 22" should I get a 21"

    • @maineboatguy
      @maineboatguy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly you should try it on in person, that breath box only has so much adjustment and if it doesn't fit snug you'll be disappointed.

      @@othoapproto9603 😂😂😂 totally understand! Worst case you can swap out the shield, maybe call CKX/Kimpex direct to see if they'll swap them out for better fitment.

    Have you wore glasses with this helmet? Trying to find a helmet that is glasses friendly.

    • @maineboatguy

      I did not try glasses in this helmet but I would suspect the breath box would come in contact with your glasses.

    Stay away from this company altogether...they bait you with extra warranty to get you to sign up for their mailing list and when you do have an issue, you'll get an email response "we don't deal with customers directly..." For the premium you pay for this helmet, there must be customer support. Dealers have little to no interest in dealing with helmet warranty issues. I bought two of them ($2000) for my wife and myself for Christmas and was given the" We don't deal with customers... " email. You're not BRP CKX! You need someone on the other end of the emails servicing customer needs! Never again!
