Yes yes yes, the most brillant version of these orchestral suites, for me! Thanks
I rediscovered this particular piece, then found this particular version with Mr Hogwood, and oh my God, I can't get enough of it!! exquisite!! I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this and can't ever seem to get enough.
Esta es la pieza más sublime jamás compuesta.
Trevor Pinnock and his EC do it pretty well too.

Excellent version, crisp, majestic but not plodding unnecessarily. Thank you for posting Ms. Brezova.
B minor, what a great and deep key. This overture and its suite are really amongst the greatest pieces ever composed.
d'une beauté incomparable Bach est un tout, magnificat!!
The scrunch and sheen of the trumpets as well as the drums at the start are amazing!
Splendida raccolta! Mille grazie.
You are always welcome, dear Fiorella!
Música divina, brillantemente interpretada por director y orquesta!!!!
Thank you, Rita, for this delightful gift of exquisite music!
Such drive! Such clarity!
quelle pure merveille cette musique (les 4 ouvertures surtout) c'est du très grand Art
beautiful! so luminous interpretation!
I made a comment about Bach’s Suite in D Major with Hogwood and a Russian lady
responded enthusiastically. I wanted to shout out that in few bars of that there is enough
love of humanity from God to last us millennia, and to value as nought and put to scorn our
temporary and crazy turmoils of the here-and - now....
[from a Letter to Pasternak, 1962]
Calm yourself.
Bach muzsikája rendezettség a testnek, egyensúly a léleknek és felemel valódi szellemi önmagunkhoz. Dear Ria, very kind of you to mediate it for us!
Música da alma
Thank you!
Bach... sir Hogwood...who dares not to like ?!
Excelentes versiones....
what human being could give this a thumbs down?
rival conductor :P
Some might be judging the interpretation of the piece by this conductor. I don't like some of the movements in this recording - they seem rushed to me. But that is based on my personal taste. The compositions themselves are some of my favorites of all music.
I think that it is because they are only amebas. What a pitty !
The vast majority of human beings love the beauty.
Thank so much, National Netherlands Society. Congratulations, from Spain 🇪🇸 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏♥️
Le menuet à 38:07. Fantastique !
Thank you for warm comment !
And a really exciting tempo.
I had a picture taken beside his statute when I visited Leipzig.
Purposeful and vibrant - by comparison, many makes so many other performances seem stodgy and ponderous
Agreed. The final movement of Suite No. 3 a great example.
Agreed. These dances are light on their feet.

really well played, why so fast?
I think it's not "fast", and is the ancient style.
The older and original tempi of Bach himself were retained in Germany through to such conductors as Klemperer, and were unaffected by the virtuoso antics of the 19th century, but then the 'new' movement of originality thought it should catch up.....
@@xaverzhou8238 It really could be a tad slower.

Excuse my ignorance, but isn't this Handel?
Interrupting the music with commercials? A guarantee I won't buy what they're selling.

I am not so keen on hearing baroque period instruments other than the strings, especially not the kettle drums which sound like wooden boxes being beat on with bones.
Were they in a rush to get home? Part seem rushed. All of it is weak. Totally lacks timing and should have more schwerpunkt. Very poor.
The time is correct, the barroque music is not so slow!!!!
It's that fake statue that I'm referring to...
Suite b minor Ouverture is way too fast! It should be Slow-Fast_Slow...
"should"...how cocky of you!!
WHen you record it, you may play it at any tempo you please.
That's a false representation of Bach!!! Bach was a maur!!!
