    Oh amazing! How many passengers were on the 5-seater compact SUV? The two men on the right side of the driver's seat made me laugh!

    • @suli2310
      @suli2310 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      normally 4. In morocco it used to happen the same. Two in front and four in the back. Now they introduced the 7 seater new Dacias so everything is used as it should

    • @Snufkin812
      @Snufkin812 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@suli2310 Here in Asian countries, only Japanese vans and trucks are officially the only cars that can fit three people in the front seat. or holding a child.
      But now carrying too many passengers is not common for safety reasons. Of course, if the passengers are slim, they can fit four people in the back seat.
      (Nobody cares about seatbelt problems for back seat passengers. 🤣)
      A progenitor of the Kia Sportage, but now very rare. I haven't seen this car on the road in nearly 10 years. Greetings from South Korea.

      @@Snufkin812 bench seats used to be very common in American cars too, they were commonplace until the 70s-80s when cars started to have floor mounted shifters again. The 2014 Chevrolet Impala is the last American car to offer a front bench seat
      There was a period in the 50s-70s where every car had a steering wheel column mounted shifter and dash mounted handbrake which allows a passenger to sit comfortably in the center
      Nowadays the middle seat in pickup trucks are only usable by kids because the handbrake and shifter is in the way.

    • @Snufkin812
      @Snufkin812 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tristan6509 I agree! Bench seats were easy to find on many American cars prior to the 70's.
      Cars of the past had a gearshift lever in place of today's wiper lever, and people called it a column shifter.
      My dad owned a 90's Japanese truck until 2010 and as a kid I always sat in the middle seat.
      I remember the gear stick touching my leg every time my father shifted gears to 4th and 5th gears.
      Today's cars have huge gearboxes and armrests that waste interior space.
      This is sometimes inconvenient. For example, it is difficult to move to the next seat when you park too close to the wall in the parking lot and cannot open the door. :(
      I searched for a 2014 Impala, but is it an official seat? It looks like a big armrest and doesn't seem suitable for passengers to sit on.

    • @tristan6509
      @tristan6509 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Snufkin812 Mitsubishi still makes the 2nd gen Delica called the L300 with a column mounted shifter, it's still sold in Indonesia and the Philippines since the 1980s. They recently updated the old indirect injection engine to a commonrail injection euro 4 but the shifter stays the same.
      Oh and the Impala's bench seat is (or was) factory, the arm rest can be flipped up as a back rest for the middle passenger.

    Maybe you can let them pay more for a normal seat. Then you have more money and the car has less load ( human weight) to carry, so you save on fuel. Then you call it Taxilux or something like that. So, one person per seat, not 2 🧐. Also better for the car's suspencion and muddrivings. And i would buy i big Toyota jeep for seven persons with good off-the-road tyres. Regards from Belgium. And next time, vote for a president who IS going to build real roads....

    They have these cars in my country where I live in the US they have them but I don’t think I see them that much Because we have newer cars And we have the newer generation of Sportage was based off of another Mazda sedan platform But this one was a body on frame platform which is more rough And more rugged But this car was competing against American vehicles this car was competing against bigger heavier and slower American 4 x 4 And this one had a four-cylinder engine versus the other ones the other American 4 x 4 vehicles had us a six cylinder even an eight cylinder And they were bigger than this one people love them in the 80s and 90s it was when they started switching from station wagons to vans and then SUVs and SUVs were very popular so Kia but there’s over and it was cheaper than the American models but it was still a good car it was still more of like an off-road all-terrain car And I like it

      It was a shitty car like every other korean car back in the day. Newer ones are quite reliable and good.

    • @Snufkin812
      @Snufkin812 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes. Many models of Hyundai and Kia have been produced for a long time, but they are not well known because they were for domestic use in Korea.
      Most of the Korean drivers in the 90s and 2000s were bored because they preferred affordable, comfortable family cars.
      And the quality was not good because of the poor technology of the car. Now this car is rare in South Korea.
