  • Here's a run through of the Z axis getting leveled up and a quick auto home of X and Y at the end.

    Amazing build. I love the table design, do you have build plans available?

    Could you please show how to attach these endstops and the wiring and software?

    Do you find that those 76oz motors (assuming they are standard) struggle with the z axis being lifted?

      I do have the voltage turned up pretty high on them to get them to hold. A lesser "travel per inch" leadscrew would help with that though.

    Curious about your table, did you make it? If so can you tell me how you did it, and if you would do anything different on it?

      The table is 2 1/2" metal studs and track. They are super straight so that was my thinking. Then used countersunk screws to attach 1/4" Masonite to both sides. It does not have a lot of torsional resistance so I put a strong across it corner to corner to make sure it's flat first. Ended up being really light and thin which is what I was going for it order to total it on it's side for storage.

    Greg, why does your LowRider CNC look so different from the one from V1 Engineering? What are the yellow flats parts made out of? I like your video, but not knowing anything about CNC it is like you were speaking in a foreign language to me. Thanks for any help as I am interested to get a LowRider CNC.

      I think this is an older version. If you're shopping V1 engineering, they've gone through a couple of iterations of the machine. I just bought mine and I'm waiting for a few more parts to start assembly. Can't wait! Good luck to you.

    How big of a challenge was it to get the tablet to talk to the board? I'm struggling with my Mac to get it to talk to my Rambo board. I think it's a baud rate issue.

      No problem at all. Windows 10 tablet running Pronterface. Plugged the USB cable in and recognized the Ramps board right away. Only issue was the tablet only had one USB port so I couldn't plug in power when connected to the Ramps board. Had a couple of runs where the battery ran out of juice. I now use a mini desktop machine with a touchscreen.

      @@gjjgsherwin Thanks a bunch. If I go that route, I'll make sure to find a tablet with two USBs.

      @@gjjgsherwin Just a tip: On the tablet you could have split the 2 USB data pins from the power(+-) pins to add a powersupply.

    • @gjjgsherwin
      @gjjgsherwin  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No z probing on this one. I just slip a sheet of paper under it and set z zero manually.
