    I never "buy" into work at home positions where you need to send them money before they hire you. If they are a legit company, there is no reason to be sending them money to apply for a job.

    Awesome presentation, Angie, I give you 5 stars! People beware if these jokers on FaceBook that say you pay them a certain amount from like 300 dollars to 5000 dollars and they will manage your training for bitcoin and you make 100 times in 7 days. What they do is send you to a website that shows your account and balance. The website contact is not at all transparent with a phone number nor mailing address. Then the next say after you gave your money and account set up they hold your withdrawal for ransom and ask you to pay a high broker fee comission .....Stay away from that crap!!! I have 900 dollars held in hawk like a pawn shop but I am filing reports with the FTC and SEC and hope this person does some prison time. I may even get a blow the whistle award. But if neither outcome happens is my reward that I share with enough people that he can't harm anyone else!

      I'm so sorry to hear that, James. You definitely need to keep an eye open for scams. They run rampant online. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

    I had a guy claiming he is with Cintas and wanted to communicate through telegram. It seemed fishy to me I spoke with him a bit and it seemed to good to be true. The job was 22 and hour. He said you make your own hours and a whole bunch of other stuff and they didn’t even have official Cintas emails. 😒 They even sent me a “check” in my email to upload in my mobile banking but, I am not doing it.

      Several read flags there. Don't cash that check or provide your bank information.

    What about if a company asks you to pay 100 for a software program then reimbursts you the first pay day

    • @AngieNelson
      @AngieNelson  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would be skeptical. Can you share the company name, Manda? I would be happy to tell you if I know of the company or can find any info.

      Run. Don't walk. You should never be asked to pay fees with gift cards. www.makeuseof.com/tag/itunes-gift-card-scam/

    I applied for a job months ago. The "boss" said i was hired. Then he said the accounting department would pay for all my at home computer equipment. The "company" directly deposited money into my account. The amount was a lot. I had my bank trace the deposit. The banker said it came from unemployment from Michigan. My brain said red flags. The "boss" wanted almost all the money but 400$. He wanted the rest to go to a company for equipment. Then he said go ahead and send it to a person. Not a company. Well basically i had my bank return the 7458.00$. I live in California so i knew it was a fraud to use the unemployment from Michigan. Then i was being threatened by an "FBI" agent. One thing he didn't know was my brother is a detective. Then i told the "boss" i didn't want the "job". He then said I'm sending you another deposit. 😆 no thanks. Thank you for all your information. Great information and video.

    I hope you can help me. Have you ever heard of a company called qumu? They are offering $45 an hour for training. I’m just not sure if I should go through training? Or not

    • @AngieNelson
      @AngieNelson  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have never heard of them, Brittany, and that sounds very suspicious. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Especially if this isn't a job you applied to directly and don't know anything about the company. I certainly wouldn't give them any personal information until you have some reassurance and more details.
      Be especially cautious if they want to do any type of interview through Facebook messenger or Google Hangouts. That's often a way to put you under pressure to give personal info or bank details. Another red flag is if a company says they are sending you a check to purchase equipment needed for the job. Run away!

      You answered my question.
      Thanks so much.
      I went through with a job called SOWITEC but the interview was chat only. I was given a job offer and it all seemed very legit because they are an international company. The check shows it's from US bank but I would have thought a personal check from the bank with SOWITECS name on it or some other I go would have been more secure. I will be contacting SOWITEC (The company is very legit) and reporting the person who is portraying my HR Manager
