Day five of Hot Rod Drag Week was one of the most action-packed we have ever seen! Bryant Goldstone had to replace a transmission in one of the most impressive single day thrashes we’ve ever seen but it paid off with his first ever overall Drag Week win. Alex Taylor (from Hot Rod Garage) had her best ever Drag Week finish in her 55 Chevy. Mike Finnegan (from Mike Finnegan's Garage) and Tony Angelo (from Stay Tuned) had to withdraw Blasphemi from competition after running into engine problems on the drive. Remember you can watch the Motortrend live stream (featuring awesome commentary from David Freiburger and Brian Lohnes) to re-live Drag Week, from the moment we first saw Ned Dunphy’s SMX Dodge Viper to the dramatic finish!
That was awesome seeing Harry Haig and Andrew Baumgartner remembered and honoured on the winner’s trophy guitars, they will never be forgotten 🇦🇺
While this is unfortunate, any bets on seat belts not being used in the crash? And before anyone complains about what I've said, what is your defense for not using seat belts? Their loss could be the message it takes for others to use belts saving THEM.
@bobroberts2371 99.9% of Aussies wear belts mate. Cops are absolutely all over it down here. We are overpoliced up to our eyeballs. I'm not going to speculate because I'm local to many of Harry and Andy's mates. I don't want to disrespect anyone. But I'm confident that they would have been wearing belts. It ain't that.
Well he did work pretty damn hard for that one! Congratulations Mr. Goldstone! You deserve it!
Nice touch with Harry & Andrew RIP - Harry was one of a kind - larger than life.
Great coverage of the event - appreciated.
The Harry Haig bit at the end had me tearing up. Stevo Army 🇦🇺
Wake up early Saturday morning, make coffee, plop down in front the computer for the news and WHOA! Drag Week footage! Thanks Tom!!
They've had early uploads this whole event if I'm not mistaken, pretty cool because I love waking up with something good to watch
Mr Brain Goldstone. Fantastic to follow you 2 all week. Fantastic effort.
Congrats to the winn.
Bryant Goldstone is not only a bad ass driver and wrench, but lot of credit has to go to Brian Robbins. He is also a brainy intelligent mechanic and tuner. And if you have ever met these two guys, they are the most humble and honest guys in the sport. And a huge amount of credit has to go to Alex and Dennis Taylor. They did it without working up a sweat, sixes all 5 days.
Great tribute to Harry and Andy. Watching from Melbourne Aus, wearing a Steve-o shirt!
Congrats Mr. Goldstone 👍🏻 You deserve it!
RIP Mr. Haig
Bryant Goldstone's paid his dues over the years, well done sir and I'm sure Alex Taylors time will come.
Such a well deserved win 🏆 by Brian and his team. They worked so hard for this!
Congratulations to them and thank you for the great coverage over the last few days. Fantastic.
Congrats to Bryant Goldstone, all the hard work, the perseverance to male the finish amd win it.
Comgrats to Alex Taylor and Dennis Taylor for being able to run 6's every day and for coming so close to the top, its been a long time coming.
It is just awesome to see this all happen, all the racers putting it down.
Got to meet and see some great people this week - Alex, Dennis, Debbie, and Megan Taylor, Mike Finnegan, Tony Angelo, Rick Johnson of Gear Vendors who we had the pleasure of having a extended converstions with beyond just automotive, and others.
An amazing week for sure!
Thank you for the great coverage!
G'Day from Melbourne Australia !
Thanks for the excellent coverage guys. My heart sank at the start of the week because I didn’t think we’d get good coverage. You’ve far exceeded my expectations. Fantastic editing too. Love the owner interviews edited with their passes. Perfect flow. Huge thanks from a UK drag n drive fan
Ditto x 7.
Congratulations to Goldstone on the win, glad you didn’t end up needing to be bailed out to continue with the event.😂
RIP Harry (Legend) Haig and Andrew Baumgartner.
🇬🇧🤝🇺🇸
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽 Bryant definitely earned that one.. congratulations
Great tribute to Harry and Andrew! I greatly appreciate you sharing the event it made for some excellent entertainment while I recover from my eleventh back surgery. 🍻
Brian reminds me of a SGT we had in our platoon
Never quit. Dude is a warrior and hellava wheel man
We seeing you and Steve out there killing it!
Congrats to Brian Goldstone! See you next at the next event.
Alex, congrats on your Six Week at Sick.
Outstanding coverage! Thanks
Good old Indiana boys bring drag week home. Seem like a couple nice fellows, good job ...
I really enjoyed seeing Goldstone take the win after the fight for the past couple years.
Missed not having Jarrad Scott in A/Gas this year. Love to see "Bitchin' "
Cheers from Tennessee
Great job Bryant! You earned it!
11:20 Is Tony standing on a toolbox? he looks taller than Finn...🤣🤣🤣
Congrats to the winners, well earned. Nice to see a tribute to harry and lurch, cheers 4 putting these vids together for us all.
Great coverage as always Tom & team!! RIP harry… much love from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 ❤ 🇦🇺
Brian fought so hard and deserved to win. Alex was so stable n solid. The Nova right there. Only could be better if I was there to see n smell it all
The tribute to Harry @30:00 so much respect
The champ is here!!
Great coverage all week! Thank you.
Right On!
America 🇺🇸
love it when a big block chevy takes the win finns hemi is just cursed
They wanna whine about Finns front end but the "winner" has wheelie bars and worst of all, an automatic in a "gasser"?! That's disgusting. Sissy sticks and a slushbox go against everything gassers stand for. A-arm suspension with the right stance like Finn has still keeps the spirit alive.
Great video!! Enjoyed watching ✌️ 😎
well done brian!
RIP Harry.
Love the AMC
Love the early uploads! 👍
Another day with people complaining about not being able to see the ET's. What are you watching on? 3" screens?
It's all most people do, complain about free content that people work hard to put together. Entitlement is at a all time high these days!
awesome :)
Lets gooooo

Man, finnagen needs a new engine builder. He can’t get 10 passes out of Pete’s engine. Seems like Cleetus can’t keep Pete’s engine running either. So it’s either the tuner or builder, so I’d be changing something. Especially for the amount of money they are spending.
This one goes to the track owner...score boards need upgrading.
Cant see the ets
Till next year boys and girls if we have a America left
@@drdab_ let's get out there and vote so that female don't win!!
How did Harry Haig die?
are big tire cars really street cars?
They are on threaded tires between the tracks, can be driven in normal traffic and do long trips at highway speed. So hard not to consider them street able cars. When tiny Alex T have no problem handling the '55 in traffic, it have to be an fairly easy street driven car.
Just out of interest, why don't more drag racers run quick change diffs? They are extremely popular in Drifting and other motorsports where gear ratios are so critical
Educated guess but I'd say it's a strength issue. The launch on a prepped track with those tyres puts a massive shock load through the diff. Far more than any other motorsport.
Same reason why they run out of balance truck tires in place of big tars instead of a cheap hard compound dirt late model tire. Lack of knowledge. Quick change gears also are used in pro chargers.
@@ErewhonGB true, however that's simply a matter of scale, the current setups used in drift are rated for 1500hp whatever that truly means but that's simply meeting the demand for the common racing categories they run. Bigger gears and you're able to get back up to whatever demand is needed for drag racing
Unsubscribe. Had enough of Alex yelling in the camera. You can only listen to nails on the chalkboard for so long.
Bill Sr. and his Malibu from OMG/SRC cameo at 29:30.
24:47 Time is the time... you open and close at the set times, other than weather effects holding it back.
Hairy Harry will be missed for a long time.
