Also pro tip from a self proclaimed pro baker. To make the chocolate chips suspended throughout the whole cake you can coat the chips in a little bit of flour before mixing them into the cake batter and they won’t all fall to the bottom! 🤓
Honestly, I've never have that issue. But I'm usually just chopping up chocolate instead of buying chocolate chips, so maybe it's got something to do with shape, weight and/or size.

While not using headphones, I did still check my volume to see if it was muted! :) Anytime you put fruit/choc. chips/anything into a cake, reserve a few tablespoons of your flour and coat the additions in the flour before adding. This will help keep them evenly distributed within the cake instead of sinking to the bottom.

And the cake is home made but you can get a similar recipe off of How to Cake it.com and just use her white cake recipe and add chocolate chips. Also I made this last night and for an 8inch round pan only use 1/2 a recipe of cookie dough because if not it gets way too heavy and crushes the bottom cake layer.
