it took me almost half an hour to write down the notes from the video.. so much information in just 5 minutes is remarkable. thank you so much

Wao! Since few days I was trying to understand what are the senescence cells. This video really helped me. Easily understood with pictures. Thank you

Is it possible that there are temporary structures such as scars, scabs and milk teeth that produce senescent cells when these transient cells complete their main purpose of repair or transition and then possibly that the SASP is the signal that their work has been completed?

But if we remove the senescent cells won't we increase the likelihood of developing cancer?

@@johnreidy2804 I've seen some studies saying that we should not eliminate all types of senescent cells. But maybe it's nothing. Studies come and go.

@@ivydune4185 Yes, but they also say that a 72 hour fast will create autophagy which helps cancer patients

    Alright,looks pretty cool
Is senescence the reason why trees have bark tissue too?
Perhaps senescence is an evolutionary adaptation to both prevent cancer and establish permanent structures within the body
The chemicals they release in an issue though
Once we find the genes responsible for senescence, we'll reduce the production of such chemicals and perhaps, alter it's DNA back into a stem cell so that it can repair the region

I think tree bark is specialized tissue. Senescent cells would probably explain wood better than bark. Overall, cellular senescence as it occurs in animals dosnt make sense in plants imo. once plants cells stop growing they die, right? leaves fall off and wood is dead. I dont think they can get cancer either, although mutant tumors do exist in plants if Im not mistaken. Now I want to go read about it.

      @@RodrigoOswego nice!
Well radiation does affect plants, mostly by killing them, there are some strange issues like spots and peculiar growth that may happen
