I think everyone who's done theatre in college or been involved in the arts knows someone exactly like Sandy back in college lol. Man, does Teri Garr nail this part.
🎯
I miss her acting!!!!!! Teri Garr is sooooooo good!❤
What happened to her?
@@israelgalindo78 She's ill.
@@j.st.jamesesq.9599 thanks
Recalling her in a Star Trek episode.
Excellent, honest acting - reacting in contemporary
character to the serious subject matter of the episode.
Teri Garr is so outstanding in this movie and especially in this scene. Love her!
Such a brilliant comedic actress.
So good! That scream!😳😳😳😳
I LOVE Teri! She's so real. When he tells her and then she screams, she does it in such a way that it's hilarious! She's the best.
Her outfit is perfection here amazing wardrobe Id wear it all tomorrow
Timeless style
Teri Garr was so funny!
Teri plays the struggling NYC actress to absolute perfection in this.
I guess Sandy no longer has a problem with anger.
Love Teri Garr! She’s so funny 😂
She's a great actress and very funny. These have been popping up in my suggestions for a few days. I'm going to have to watch the movie again. It's been decades...
"I think I should tell you to go shove your play"😂😂
This is one of the best comedic "couples" scenes in film history😂😂
Personally, I think Garr is better in this movie than Jessica Lange is, and she's just as pretty, too.
this had to be the funniest movie of 1982
"My mind's a blank." Well, at least he was honest when he said THAT.
Boy, I do remember those times I’ve called you six times🔥 Well, I haven’t checked my answering machine or it broke boy that was 1982. I was 15 years old. I remember those days.
I love Teri Garr. She was so cute in the Star Trek episode and she just got better down thru the years. I hate so much that she has MS. So many stars seem to get neurological diseases.
Why is it that so many stars get those diseases?
@@rr7firefly I've wondered. Peter Frampton has one, and someone else I can't remember. Celine Dion has one. On and on.
They don't make movies like that anymore. Great acting, great writing and no agenda.
Actually the point of the movie was a guy who treats women like crap learning what’s it’s like to be a woman being treated like crap. Not sure if you’d call that an agenda but there was a message.
I think you’re the one with the agenda
My very favorite scene in this movie.Teri Garr's comic timing was phenomenal. I thought that Sandy was someone that every man is entitled to date for the sheer excitement. I'd have been first in line if I'd been there.
Brilliant.
She looks like Lisa Kudrow, on the other hand her performance here is top-notch!
Didn't she later play 'Phoebe's' mom in "Friends" ? No surprise.
One of my most favorite movie scenes of all time!🤣❤
My favorite movie ever!!!
Mine too. So funny, so witty, so clever. And wonderful performances all round.
Brilliant acting teri Garr. I sometimes reckon Jennifer Anniston immitated teri Garr as an actress.
dustin hoffman thinks fast
Teri Garr should have gotten the best supporting actress win. Jessica Lange was excellent, but she was the lead actress.
I'm pretty sure Jessica Lang won as best supporting actress as a consolation prize by the fact that she didn't win best actress for Francis. Which by the way, I think is one of the greatest performances by an actress ever. Not that Meryl Streep wasn't great in Sophie's choice but.... That's the Oscars for you. So that's why she beat Terry Garr I'm afraid
I like this movie, but I like it less as time goes on, and the way Michael treats Sandy is a big part of it. The humor mostly stands up and the acting is wonderful. It also has some positive and insightful points to make (subtly) about gender roles. But Michael deceives two women in really mean ways and still triumphs in the end. That disturbs me.
Well part of that is because Sandy allows herself to be a doormat lol
oh give us a break, delicate one.
The movie is pretty clear in showing Michael learning how to be a better man by seeing what it is like to be a woman -- how men constantly demean and lie to women to get what the want. He starts out as a schmuck who is very superficial in his relationships with women; he is much more like Ron than he would like to admit (there is a scene where Ron uses the same language to Michael that Michael used earlier to Jeff). By the end of the movie he sees how hurtful his attitudes are. Think about it -- at the very end, Julie asks to borrow one of his dresses -- that's what women do with their good friends! It's meant to be funny, but it also shows that friendship is going to be a big part of their relationship. Sadly, Dustin Hoffman didn't really learn much from this movie. He said he was quite distressed that men would not be interested in Dorothy, even though she was intelligent and funny, because she was so unattractive. He admitted he would never be interested in such a woman and that he shouldn't feel that way. But there is no indication that being in this movie changed his mind.
I didn't agree at first. But I think women characters are more likely to pay for their sins in film. You have a point.
@@CRIM479 You don't have a point, or you are incapable of making one that is coherent.
How could Jessica Lange win best supporting actress for this movie over Garr is simply mind boggling.
I KNOW 🤷
@@swanzettajohnson7882 And I love Lange. But she should not have won over Garr!!! This is why I don't take award shows seriously.
You definitely know your movies and I’ll tell you I was only 15 years old when this came out but I’ve watched it probably 10 times as an adult. Jessica Lang literally did nothing in this. She wasn’t emotional. She wasn’t funny. She wasn’t endearing. It was a stupid part she was barely in the movie to be nominated is a joke to win is beyond comprehension same when she won the other Oscar in a movie no one and I mean no one even saw called I believe blue sky. She’s a very sweet woman good actress, but to ask her wins that she did not deserve if you look the nominees there was so many other people that should’ve won in 82 over her and I agree with you Teri was better but you don’t give an Oscar win for this type of comedy but Jessica Lang. It was ridiculous that year same one years ago later when Pacino won over Denzel Washington, that was ridiculous and Denzel should’ve won over Russell Crowe for beautiful mind. Oscars get it wrong every goddamn year. ☃️
