I actually learneed a lot from this on stream review and started practicing the build against AI just to keep the TC working and clean up villager efficency. Great stuff Survivalist
I am currently 1125, and I very rarely see players going everything like the Frank player did here. Dark age is also usually cleaner than this game (looking at replays, not talking about myself), but drush tends to distort build orders for both players. Nymets should play Malians, you can stay under the TC all day long with 1TC 3 barracks full Longswords, it works so well at this level. I am baffled by their APM though, I hover around ~20APM with the same ELO.
@@marksmits1911 Trying things is fun and makes sense, but one should still focus on one strategy or one composition in a single game. It's great to try (for example) infantry as Franks, but one has to commit to it (unless hard countered) instead of pursuing crossbows, scorpions, knights and light cavs at the same time.
Frank players be like: "My opponent is going Halbs against my knights. I will make more knights, that should do it" "My opponent has trebs? Let's build more castles in treb range, that will show him!"
Generally they say the pikeman line is weak to anything but cavalry, but for instance the throwing axemen seem to die to it pretty quickly, don't they? And the same happened to me in my recent game. I had 36 throwing axemen and the opponent's pikemen just crushed the 36 axemen (I think the numbers were pretty equal, he may have had a bit more). I expected it to be the other way around. I started microing the hit and run, but that just made it worse, I guess due to the long animation of each throw. It was just too slow and there seems to have been overkills. There is a method with pressing R instead of right-clicking, but that didn't change anything either, plus I don't know if it is the usual method when hit-and-running. I only saw it in one of Viper's videos but don't really know when to use it. But that raises the question of what are the axemen even good against. I guess just against rams.
Drush can work at that level, but it doesn't allow you time to learn proper macro behind it. In order to do damage with this, you have to babysit your militia, which if you're able to do while keeping your eco in good order, you won't be 1100 for long.

not really. TA kill trash, eagles and camels just fine. In some cases, other infantry too.

I do think you should try. Its a good lesson. Im 1125 my self and i do try things. Adds a bit of tast to the game

I don't agree. I started drushing after plateauing at 1050 elo and now im scared to que again cause im 1200 going aztecs drush into archers
