    So interesting to hear Yanis discuss Terra Nullius and how it is used as a tool of dehumanisation to justify mass slaughter. It is a term we learn about as Australians, albeit often through the lens of the coloniser, but to hear it applied to the atrocity happening in Gaza is jolting and at the same time, illuminating and disturbing. Centuries later and it is still possible to dehumanise whole populations, however, the difference here is that its consequences are happening blatantly in front of the eyes of the world and is yet remains unchecked. Thanks for the discussion, so important to hear voices speaking truth as to what is happening and to cut through this dehumanising language etc.

    As citizen of the US I appreciate you so much for speaking on the self righteous hypocrisy and performative fraudulence of America. Being a descendent of enslaved Africans, I know first hand how this country is an elitist entity whose hubris and position is very much Do as I say, not as I do when it comes to dictating what other countries should do when they always have an excuse why they can't/won't/don't address the issues of their own citizens.

      I don't agree that the October 7 attack should be described as horrendous, an atrocity or a terrorist attack. It was, as George Galloway said, an uprising.
      Lest anyone forget, generations of Israeli oppression, colonialism, apartheid, land grab, calorie restriction, and other crimes against humanity inflicted on the Palestinians have been obtained and maintained by brutal force of arms. The Palestinians have the right to rise up and obtain for themselves freedom justice and dignity.

    One note I would add to this, the Arab countries who were ''normalizing'' deals with Israel before October 7'th were for the most part bought out by the American dollar for their ''normalization'' with Israel. Be it Jordan, Egypt and so on which gets huge amount of money from US to be on the Israeli side, Yet the population in Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia are very in favour of the palestinian people, that is why you see even a poppet ruler of Egypt talk against Israel and US. They might be frightened by Israel or US, but they are even more frightened by their own people, who holds more power and will thgen what US and ISrael can buy.

    Yanis was my lecturer in economics at the university of Sydney. He is brilliant and many of us loved his lectures and still love and respect him now. Please pass on my comments and greetings to him directly. I would love to have a beer or a tea with him one day.

    Yes. All the elements of the crime of GENOCIDE under the 1948 Convention have been met. This is a clear case, if prosecuted by an HONEST ICC prosecutor and brought by an indefatigable party on behalf of the Palestinians that saw to it that the prosecutor AND the judge was on the straight and narrow. A Third party state can invoke the Convention. Further signators have an AFFIRMATIVE duty to invoke the Convention.

    They've set an impossible goal...It's obvious that's not the goal...It's everything around the goal. And they're so arrogant they keep saying the quiet parts out loud.

    • @leazawacki4966

      Yes!!! Idk how they think we can’t see what they are literally saying outright

      @somethingsinlife5600 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@leazawacki4966Unfortunately they are correct in their assessment. Most of the Brits and Americans can't see through it. The people with the most power to do something about it. The problem for Israel is the few that can. Compared to the total population, very few can see through it. The rest of the world are just seeing White colonial history replay.

      @@leazawacki4966I think it's down to hubris - they're so used to getting away with things. What they and their lobbiests didn't bargain for is social media.

      @fokkerfilms560 You are correct. It explains why their excuses and rationalizations are so sloppy and unsophisticated. You lose the ability to adequately explain your actions when you've never been held accountable for your actions.

    I'm living in Germany ( born British ) & horrified at their utter indifference made worse by Ursula wonder Leyen .Exactly they are soaked in blood and more so now .How can people be so backward as to be taken in by the mass slaughter, and say ok these are not real people .Every person is worthy of life I'm weary of the 7th Oct since prior to that there had been years with so many attacks .I came here in 1987 and the wall divided Berlin It was a wonderful night when it opened at Bornholmer Strasse and not one shot was fired Walls such as you describe are prisons .Sadly who will take these people .. We see how cruel other countries are re taking refugees ,
