- Full lengh video of us tackling the Famous Bastard Lane ("horse shoe lane") that is located in Northern part of Wales, probably one of the most insane lanes i have ever done. This year we tackling it in reverse - UPHILL - and it was insane!

I am glad I watched. I am not ready for that yet. I have only done 3 days off road in my life - riding 55 years. I shall stick with some easier tracks first!
Question: why do people park their bikes, themselves or their helmets right where a fellow wants to put his wheels? Surely you would park out of the way and either sit or leave your stuff off the track to the side to leave the way clear? (Rocky platform section where the 701 has to stop to avoid a chap sitting and his helmet).
It was great fun (I was on the 701), we did the whole Welsh TET from Tinten Abbey to Wrexham. This day we started with Bastard Lane and then enjoyed Happy Valley. Riding with full camping gear certainly adds a degree of difficulty, but well worth it

Looks like I've got to come back to Wales. Only did South and Midwales last September on my Beta Alp 200. But I missed the North and therefore Bastard Lane. Next time. Happy days, Günter/Nürnberg
That would be great fun on a light 2 stroke bike. It looks like a nightmare on those big heavy lumps.

It wasnt too bad tbh 😂 we did "heart attack hill" in the end of the day - that was completely messed up, and so far the hardest lane i have ever done 😂

That is some rough terrain.
I'm no expert but so frustrating to watch. Why did they make it so hard for themselvs and their riding buddies. Get the bikes out of the way. And DON'T STOP... :P
It works both ways though 🤷 plus one lad crushed his foot so had no choice but just sit and watch, maybe not the best spot he picked for that but i dont think he cared much at that time 😂 plus i agree, "dont stop, dont block, keep going" approach works well, but only when everyone has a bit of experience, and that wasnt the case in our group 😉👍
That lane looks fantastic certainly challenging 👍 we ride mid and south Wales areas which are great but haven't come across that one before where about in Wales is it ?
Its a secret 🙈 but if you follow tet you will bump into it eventually 😉

Doing some of the Welsh Tet soon for a few days have previously stayed near the Devils bridge, am I right in thinking the Bastard lane is nearby ?
Its just above Machynlleth 😉 if you look at tet route, you will see a loop just above it, thats where it is 👍🏻

I'm trying to find the start location to try this lane on my ktm , could you possibly help me with a location? And is correct that happy valley is down the road ?
That lane looks like a real "bastard" !!! Hows the AJP for long distance cruising, and whats its comfortable cruising speed ? Thinking of trading my T7 for one ? Good video mate.
Thanks, i havent ridden t7 so i cant compare the 2, but ill tell you what- i picked pr7 not t7 mainly because of weight of it.
It will do what ever you want it to do, 70, 80 no problem 🤷♂️

Horse shoe lane, however the is a voluntary restraint to use it west to east (downhill) to prevent damage to the lane!
