When I heard that Fanatics was going to be making jerseys now, my first thought was that I was going to get a Vegas jersey now. End of an Era for sure. So I remember as a teenager when I started out in being a sports fan and getting jerseys that the quality of the "replicas" was always really good. CCM, KOHO, Nike, whatever the random brand was it never felt cheap. Jerseys have always been an investment. There is a solid shop at Square One shopping mall in Mississauga, Ontario called Pro Image where I bought and got stitched names and numbers over the years. Otherwise I would also get Jerseys at the actual game at the team stores. There most of the cresting would be heat pressed. In my life I have had MINIMAL issues with heat pressed - but I'm all for proper stitching all day. Then the Reebok era hit and it was really awesome. Many teams got updated designs, the NHL crest on the collar was always a nice touch, they went away from that baggy fit and again the "replicas" were of solid quality for the price. Then Adidas comes into play. $200.00 for jerseys. YIKES. It took me a long time to get on-board. I went on a tear collecting many teams during the Reebok clearance sales so I honestly did not have any need to "update" to the more expensive Adidas ones. But, I also start to notice the rise of KO Jerseys from China. I knew about them in the Reebok Era - but going to games I see more and more people wearing them. Why not? $40-$60 crested vs $200 blank. Money is tight. If you don't care that your Jersey looks terrible then good on you bud. I 100% admit I have become a Jersey snob. I can spot a KO a mile away. And that bring me to Fanatics. The Breakaway "brand" of replicas TO ME look like KO jerseys. For the extra $50 why not go full Adidas. That was my deciding factor. I saw how BAD the replicas were - and was willing to pay the premium for the better jersey in every way shape and form. I've always been a deal hunter and YOU Neil have been huge in educating collectors how to hunt. So from a Jersey perspective I am anti Fanatics until I see what they put on the shelf. The Pro Authentic line has decent stuff. I have a number of items and am generally happy with them. I do agree that they are not built to last so clean only when necessary. If you want to beat the crap out of your sports wear go to Walmart and get that cheap stuff. My biggest beef with Fanatics is when the KILLED Lids. I loved Lids. I had a problem. Legit. The deals were so good all the time so I was buying stuff constantly. Maybe in retrospect Fanatics saved me a bit - but I do miss how good we had it. It will be interesting to see how this deal pans out.
Darn, Darn, Darn! I was hoping for almost anybody but fanatics. I have not been happy with their customer service in the past and as mentioned the quality. I'm hoping for the best but I'm not holding my breath. I'm sorry to hear that. It is for 10 years. I really hope they step up their game and make a good product. I would like to see the authentic more like a real authentic.
I also agree that the NHL does a sh**** job with their PR and should have had a prototype prepared with a comparison from the Adidas brand and the Fanatics Breakaway jerseys…
I purchased the Fanatics Montreal 100th anniversary jersey (white jersey, silver tinsel looking material outlining the "C" logo. I was surprised that the logo was fully stitched, unlike my Oilers orange jersey's logo (more the type of stitching that most Fanatics jerseys have).
Good takes, boys, and that's an impressive jersey collection! One thing, if you have replicas of jerseys you already own, if you have any doubles or multiples, I'd try to move them and put that money towards more authentics, especially those from 20 or so years ago. I just got my first Primegreen and while it's nice, it just doesn't compare to the jerseys I have from the mid-to-late '90s. Who knows, these Primegreens might become collector's items if Fanatics truly mucks things up.
Hi Neil do you wish NHL teams had there own contract for kit suppliers like we have here in England with premier teams doing there kit deals instead of a league wide deal like NHL do
I believe Fanatics tried to force people to buy the adidas authentics by making crap quality while maintaining small difference in price. Authentics were $40-50 extra but the quality was so much better and was not that big of a difference relatively speaking. Compare that to the reeboks where the gap between the replica and authentic was $200.
I wonder how all our former P2P guests are doing, The Goat, Jason, other Kale and of course HDH Justin, I miss his videos but totally understand if life stuff popped up and he no longer can put any videos out
My biggest concern is the quality of hockey jerseys at an inevitably high price. That’s what I will miss with Adidas. It felt like you are getting what you’re buying. T-Shirts produced by Fanatics are usually acceptable to positive. Hats are meh, but not horrible. Jerseys have been a mixed bag. Either fine but cheap or downright trash.
Thank you for covering this. It’s obvious the retail authentic and on-ice authentic jerseys will be way better quality….however that’s not the point. It’s behind the brand that is manufacturing it. Nike, Adidas, CCM Reebok are all established brands that stand behind quality, R&D and customer service. The NHL is going to have a cheap Fanatics logo in the back from a company that does the opposite. Fanatics has the license for team’s official off-ice apparel and those products are trash in itself. They have ruined the Mitchell and Ness brand which use to stand behind quality. Even M&N replicas used to be better quality and now their vintage blue-line are worse than knockoffs. Fanatics probably even bought out the rights to use Adidas developed materials since they are telling fans to be patient and wait a couple of years until they get going. Collectors will give in so easily to Fanatics when they come out and act surprised when their jerseys are better quality than their breakaway jerseys. Like I said, that is already a given. Reebok put out quality replica jerseys and Fanatics has been putting out the lowest possible quality they can get away with.
I agree. There should have been a prototype available when the announcement was made to ease quality concerns. But there wasn't. And we all speculate what might happen based off of all their other poorly constructed merchandise.
My hot take !!!!!! the few Fanatics jerseys I have, are winter Classic, and special edition ones. And with those they use the same quality patches and logos and numbers as Adidas. It’s just the quality of the actual sweater is different. And I actually find the Adidas less comfortable. But still a way better jersey. So if fanatic ups their quality a little bit and uses the patches and stuff that I am mentioning I’m predicting it will be a very nice and comfortable jersey. Let’s hope. I just wanna see them do some cool concepts and be as creative as Adidas.
Obviously they are going to step up their quality! Do you think their NHL deal was just a one line contract that says they are going to make the Authentic. Casual jersey buyers and collectors alike will all give in to the cheap brand behind Fanatics and act surprised when their new jerseys are better quality than the breakaway ones.
I think the main thing I want fanatics to focus on in the first year of their contract is quality control and customer service if they can get that up to snuff I think that would solve a lot of problems and make a lot of hockey fans happy since they won't be changing much the first couple years in their contract they should hopefully focus on quality control and customer service
Received a team shirt for Christmas this year. Can't even put it on without the neck being so stretched out that it's unwearable. Although, I guess on a positive note, at least it has the correct team name and logo.
I was hoping CCM would put in a bid…hopefully Fanatics has a good plan for the retail level, even a different branding idea so it doesn’t have Fanatics label on the retail jerseys 🤞🤞
My Ducks 25th Anniversary Jersey is a Fanatics bought if for $147 of my Birthday money and took it a couple of days during my High School years when every Ducks won a game plus I wore it for my very 1st Ducks game on Sept 19, 2019 against thw Coyotes and the Ducks won 2-1. I wore it minimally
If they can come out with two jerseys, the breakaway and a higher quality one like the current adidas, I think fans will be happy. It’s just up to fanatics if they’re willing to do that. If they don’t, it says quite a bit about them as a company.
I want to reserve my judgement until we see what the full retail options will be. I don’t mind if they retain the Breakaway jerseys but if they do sell an “authentic” version like Adidas does, the quality has got to be there. I wouldn’t mind if we saw the same Breakaway material but with PrimeGreen logos and fonts. But we shall see. Quality control, good customization options, and an authentic line that’s as good as or better than Adidas at the same price point.
I like the feel of a Fantaics NHL jersey (and NBA) when I wear them. They're more flexible and feel more like a shirt. Yes, the quality is less than an Adidas authentic jersey. I love my stitched Adidas jerseys but I won't wear them out of the house or eat with them on. What I do not like, that the guys touched on, is the Fanatics store. One time I tried to order a custom NHL jersey from them. Months went by and no shipping notice. I couldn't stop the order and get a refund because it was a custom job, but the jersey wasn't made or even being made. Eventually they said they couldn't create my custom jersey. The fanatics jerseys might be great, but if their store and service is still garbage, that will be a problem. /rant
Reebok was good. Adidas was great. They set the bar very high. The current jerseys from Fanatics, and their products in general, are cause for concern quality-wise. I know that Neil is a big fan of their hats, but I bought a Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup Champions hat and the patches on the front and back were heat-pressed on and started peeling off after 2 weeks. I doubt that the current Fanatics jerseys reflect what the jerseys will be (I hope) and I'm sure (or at least I hope) Fanatics had an unreleased prototype to show the NHL where the NHL was happy enough to greenlight them as the new jersey provider. That said, the length of the contract is WAY too long. Just like with players, the NHL should have given them their 3 year ELC and then extend them long-term if they like what they see.
We European fans are totally screwed already and now we will have to pay premium for pure crap, for us this is a bad situation that just got way worse. Until now we have paid way to much for Adidas very nice jerseys, now Fanatics are gonna charge the same for crap. =/ I'll better dig deep and get some Adidas before they are gone even if it will ruin me.
I wish the Fanatic jerseys were $104 as you put. I think I have bought a few for $140, no named. I'm not worried about the quality. I have Reebok and Adidas ones too, but I only have about 3-4 teams I follow and buy jerseys of. I honestly think they will step it up in quality.
Dont know why they didnt split up the contract.. why not letting the teams choose? Some getting jerseys by ccm.. some bauer... . Fanatics jersey, the retail will gonna miss good jerseys
Having the dynamic duo back on screen together just like them good ol days! As for Fanatics, the announcement with Gary & the Fanatics CEO was, let’s just say, cringey. I smell not only 💩, I also smelt trouble with all of their statements that is clearly untrue and just marketing talk and bs. If things aren’t in the right step once when the 2024-25 and ESPECIALLY the 2026-27 seasons start, both fanatics & the NHL are screwed.
Fanatics is a company that doesn’t respect fans by putting out the lowest quality possible products they can get away with. They target unknowing casual consumers. Reebok made quality replica jerseys and Fanatics purposely chose not to.
Maybe they won't be perfect on the first year of production, but eventually they'll have to meet NHL standard... and this is their chance to enter the big leagues.. think we'll be good
Fanatics look like good fake jerseys. However they are very comfortable to wear as you Cale mentioned, I wear mine to the outdoor rink cause of the logo flexibility and soft fabric. I think if they were cheaper it would be an amazing way to get people into jersey collection and theyd sell alot more if they were $50-60, great video as always!
They need to bring the price down for jerseys as a UK guy spending nearly 150 pounds or 180 dollars on a single jersey is ridiculous.. I just hope they're well made, and look good
I am in The U.K. aswell And as it stands with the prices in The U.K. for N.H.L jerseys I simply cant afford it anymore. The result of this is I dont follow the N.H.L. as closely anymore. I also feel the coverage of the N.H.L. we get in the U.K. is still rubbish even if it is slightly better now Viaplay have taken over the coverage we dont get extra content other than on The Fly we dont get N.H.L tonight or anything similar to that. I honestly feel The N.H.L. dose it's self more harm than good post Pandemic. Keep Safe.
From the announcement, it sounds like they are just taking over everything ADIDAS had. Like just a change in the name on it. That's what it sounds like to me.
I threw up the second the news was official. This is going to be the biggest decision the NHL will ever regret doing giving a trash company like Fanatics the rights to the jerseys.
I'm so afraid the NHL uniforms will turn into cheap and crappy uniforms. I will say the only slight hope I have is Fanatics whole deal that they make things for fans by fans. IF (and that's a very big if) they listen to fans and make an incredible quality product then this could be incredible! With that said my confidence in that happening isn't very high. If it does then this could be the best move the NHL has made! However I'm afraid this could be one of the worst moves they have made. Only time will tell. If Fanatics is smart in the way of jerseys, they will have 3 versions of jerseys available to the public. The three options being: Breakway Replica, Authentic Replica, Authentic On-Ice (MiC). That would be able to hit every part of the market and anyone who wants a jersey could possibly get one and the one that they want. Again only time will tell. Also with have 3 different styles, have all 3 would be readily available for fans. The breakaway replica, the authentic replica, and the Authentic On-Ice (MiC). I think that they would make a good amount of money and if they price them right people could afford a jersey! And on top of that very drastically reduce the fake jersey market. Whether it be your casual but true to their team fan to the die-hard super fan. And collectors would also be able to get their jerseys and pay whatever price they want as well.
Good you finally made a video about the new NHL jerseys is brought by Fanatics which sucks the jerseys sucks and cheaply made horrible decision by the NHL
.....Fanatics replica jerseys ARE indeed as noted, OVERPRICED - and crests, just CHINTZY - picked up my authentic white Islanders Adidas comparatively cheap ($90 negotiated) and, GRATEFUL for having [FINALLY] done so.....
Alan Shields Hamilton South Lanarkshire Scotland. I could see the Fanatics deal coming from miles away from The N.H.L's point of view they already work with Fantics on a retail level so for The N.H.L. on a business level it was the start play to put it in Hockey vocabulary. From a fans point of new N.H.L. Hockey jersey available in The U.K are only available via Fanatics so they already have a stranglehold over The N.H.L. Merchandise in The U.K anyway you simply cant buy N.H.L merchandise from anywhere else here anyway so for me personally this deal will just ramp up the stranglehold Fanatics has on N.H.L merchandise here even more. In terms of Jersey availability here in The U.K. the only way you can now actually buy an Adidas version is if it comes with a high profile players name & number on it that was not always the case but it has been for about a year now & The Fanatics brand jersey are just out of my price range now & not worth the money in terms of quality because they are just absolutely ridiculous priced no ordinary person could afford more than one a year if they where very lucky. My concern about Fanatics having the one ice deal is that basically The N.H.L. players will have vastly inferior jersey when they take to the ice this could make the league look more terrible to fans than it already looks with some of The Broadcasting deals they have in place. My fear about the replica side of things is that Fanatics jack up the price we already pay buy %20 to 35%. will quality get worse & worse for fans. I honestly fear a lot of the business choices The N.H.L. has made post Pandemic could comeback & bit them in the arse big time after this Fanatics deal has end. The N.H.L. could find out buy the end of this Fanatics deal that there fanbase outside of Canada has shrunk in a massive way buy the time The Fanatics deal has end The N.H.L. could find it's self with a fanbase outside of Canada a third of what it currently has. Before The Pandemic The N.H.L. was going well but Post Pandemic it's going rapidly down hill in so many way The N.H.L. from a business point of view is so disconnected from it's fanbase more than any other league worldwide & this Fanatics deal is prof of that if you need anymore prof. Keep Safe Neil.

I hope you are correct but honestly I fear this will all back fire on the league big time.
That's me no longer buying NHL jerseys for the next 10 years.
I was hoping for under armour but oh well it is what it is
We European fans are totally screwed already and now we will have to pay premium for pure crap, for us this is a bad situation that just got way worse.
Finally Neil we want to know your thoughts of the NHL deal with Fanatics which nobody is not a fan of
Dont know why they didnt split up the contract.. why not letting the teams choose?
How much will I save not purchasing jerseys for the next 10 years?
Now *this* is the video we all have been waiting for.
Under Armor would have been cool, i own a few of their college hockey jerseys and i love them
I doubt the league would ever seriously consider them after they backed out of their deal with MLB and UCLA.
Hey, Hockey Authentic has the Redwings RR2.0 in your size, in stock. Jus sayin’! 😉
Unfortunately I don't get a discount there and would not be willing to pay full price at the moment.
Think it will come back to haunt nhl I have bought 2 fanatics jerseys both were bad quality living in UK don't get much choice in UK
Fanatics is a company that doesn’t respect fans by putting out the lowest quality possible products they can get away with. They target unknowing casual consumers. Reebok made quality replica jerseys and Fanatics purposely chose not to.
welp time to stock up on adidas jerseys lol
Maybe they won't be perfect on the first year of production, but eventually they'll have to meet NHL standard... and this is their chance to enter the big leagues.. think we'll be good
I will wait clearance at the end of 2024 summer
Welp this jersey hobby gonna be on hold for 10 years
Gracias a ustedes estoy apreciando estos jerseys
Fanatics is going to have to improve their quality. No exceptions. They should also make rare jerseys again to please fans.
I've been waiting for this video
Fanatics look like good fake jerseys. However they are very comfortable to wear as you Cale mentioned, I wear mine to the outdoor rink cause of the logo flexibility and soft fabric. I think if they were cheaper it would be an amazing way to get people into jersey collection and theyd sell alot more if they were $50-60, great video as always!
They need to bring the price down for jerseys as a UK guy spending nearly 150 pounds or 180 dollars on a single jersey is ridiculous..
I just hope they're well made, and look good
I am in The U.K. aswell
And as it stands with the prices in The U.K. for
N.H.L jerseys I simply cant afford it anymore.
The result of this is I dont follow the N.H.L. as closely anymore.
I also feel the coverage of
the N.H.L. we get in the U.K. is still rubbish even if it is slightly better now Viaplay have taken over the coverage we dont get
extra content other than on
The Fly we dont get
N.H.L tonight or anything similar to that.
I honestly feel The N.H.L. dose it's self more harm than good post Pandemic.
Keep Safe.
There is no chance that the price decreases.
@@fantasticvoyage262 a guy can only hope.
I miss CCM
Neil and Kale = awesome!
Fanatics = sucks!
Horrible decision by the NHL by going to Fanatics this was the company that NHL Hockey fans didn't want wished the NHL stayed with Adidas
I would be very surprised if Fanatics does as terribly as we all feel like they will do
It will end up being fanatics “on ice” jerseys and breakaway jerseys for the next 10 years.
I heard the same thing. And that's how it is with MLB.
I am no NHL jersey collector but I hope fanatics produces a good jersey.
DHgate sells $25 replicas that are better than Fanatics 🤫
If they don't step up their customer service they can produce the finest ever jerseys but will look awful
will never buy fanatics so i will buy my last jersey next week maybe
They also have a deal with WWE
Are these jerseys going to be available from other retailers? Why would they want you to buy from a middle man like Dicks or Cool Hockey?
They make the same amount of $ regardless who sells to the customer. Their retail side is just a business within a business.
The fanatics logos aren't good at all, BUT compared to the number and name prints it's the best thing ever made
Fanatics hasn’t earned anyone’s trust, but they have lost it from all the products they have put out.
I heard there will be 2 tiers available when Fanatics takes over. A low quality replica that they make now. And an on ice authentic.
Good you finally made a video about the new NHL jerseys is brought by Fanatics which sucks the jerseys sucks and cheaply made horrible decision by the NHL
i wanted nike to do it
Vesper Hockey rarely uploads content anymore.
Great video
They’re gonna look the same as the adidas
.....Fanatics replica jerseys ARE indeed as noted, OVERPRICED - and crests, just CHINTZY - picked up my authentic white Islanders Adidas comparatively cheap ($90 negotiated) and, GRATEFUL for having [FINALLY] done so.....
Fanatics? BOOOOOO!
Fanatics is crappy quality. Going to get me an Adidas jersey soon.
Fanatics is quality. One of the best brands in the biz eh
Saludos
I always spent more money on the adidas ones simply cause the fanatics are garbage

I could see the Fanatics deal coming from miles away from
The N.H.L's point of view they already work with Fantics on a retail level so for The N.H.L. on a business level it was the start play to put it in
Hockey vocabulary.
From a fans point of new
N.H.L. Hockey jersey available in The U.K are only available via Fanatics so they already have a stranglehold over
The N.H.L. Merchandise in
The U.K anyway you simply cant buy N.H.L merchandise from anywhere else here anyway so for me personally this deal will just ramp up the stranglehold Fanatics has on
N.H.L merchandise here even more.
In terms of Jersey availability here in The U.K. the only way you can now actually buy an
Adidas version is if it comes with a high profile players name & number on it that was not always the case but it has been for about a year now &
The Fanatics brand jersey are just out of my price range now & not worth the money in terms of quality because they are just absolutely ridiculous priced no ordinary person could afford more than one a year if they where very lucky.
My concern about Fanatics having the one ice deal is that
basically The N.H.L. players will have vastly inferior jersey when they take to the ice this could make the league look more terrible to fans than it already looks with some of
The Broadcasting deals they have in place.
My fear about the replica side of things is that Fanatics jack up the price we already pay buy %20 to 35%. will quality get worse & worse for fans.
I honestly fear a lot of the business choices The N.H.L. has made post Pandemic could comeback & bit them in the arse big time after this
Fanatics deal has end.
The N.H.L. could find out buy
the end of this Fanatics deal that there fanbase outside of
Canada has shrunk in a massive way buy the time
The Fanatics deal has end
The N.H.L. could find it's self with a fanbase outside of
Canada a third of what it currently has.
Before The Pandemic
The N.H.L. was going well but
Post Pandemic it's going rapidly down hill in so many way The N.H.L. from
a business point of view is so disconnected from it's fanbase more than any other league worldwide & this Fanatics deal is prof of that if you need anymore prof.
Keep Safe Neil.
Fanatics jerseys suck!
