Yes sir it is. I called RA to do the override. Lol He said he couldn't do it. Ok whatever I've had it done b4 by RA. So I text back saying the shipper wants it running at -10. While trying to find something on TH-cam for the override function I come across this videos. Ok so I'm about to do the instructions this guy gives and all of sudden the reefer turns on. RA turned it back on. So why lie about. I override the system anyways.
@@trell0123 yeah I called RA also. They've done it before, but the 3rd shift crew, they're all a bunch of passive aggressive assholes, and they sat there and argued with me. Sitting in Florida with a -10 load. I asked him, what if this food gets rejected because it warms up, and he said that's what claims is for.......... Needless to say I was fuming, that is until I found this video. Like I said 4 years later and still saving lives.
I can't tell you how happy I was to see that 160xxx trailer sitting there since I have one behind my tractor...thanks, Mark. Interstate Warehouse is taking its time and I have a -10 degree load.
Thanks brother, just got a carrier 7500 x4 today its new to me but used. Opened the doors and poof the unit shut down.... found your video and followed it step by step and it worked.... kudos brother
Also doors don't have to be shut like advised in another comment. I just bypassed with the doors open and backed up to dock at shipper. Thanks again Mark. Good video. Quick to the point with no BS.
This saved me today. Thank you. You think Prime would set the trailer door open override. Otherwise, your unit will not pre-cool to the -10 requirement for them to begin to load you
Saw this video a year ago…..it happens on occasion but it has happened multiple times over the last year, so I always come back to find it. Thank you. 😁 E: Man now Prime is using Thermo King and it’s a pain in the ass to even access!):
Warning; leaving the unit running while opening the doors sucks in outside air across your box and into the evaporator freezing it up. This is very hard on the $30k refrigeration unit It should never be running while the doors are open... period.
First of all the door switches have been around long before the x4 series. Second it's an added option to the install, who ever bought the unit wanted it there. Third, you not being loaded on a cold dock so the reason the unit is set to shut off is because it will freeze up. Only time you need to disable or override the door switch is when the door are closed but your still getting the code..
Hi can i access by the same process the status light setting ? I’m having a problem when the reefer off because of any alarm the lights stays green never comes yellow i have heard there’s a setting for that but I have to access settings on the reefer Thanks
@@6gredlite907 i have a Thermo King. But i think its just the same. Maybe one is more expensive. Here in my country most small companies uses Thermo. And the largest uses a Carrier.
I seem to have just had this issue on a 7300 x4. Procedure didn't produce a function key. I tried the inspection key and the display said Something about temperature control (hard to read in the sun). I pressed the left button, the screen returned to normal, the light went back to green and the reefer restarted. Is thus the procedure on a 7300 or did I just get lucky and fix it by accident?
Thanks for the info. The ability to change settings seems to be locked out once I get into the menu. Any idea how to open it up? There is an asterisk in front of the options inside the override menu, and the settings won't change. Thanks again.
My refer runs continuously even when I have it set to start/stop. Once it gets down to the set temp, the heater kicks in for some reason and brings it up, and then the cool kicks on when it gets too warm.
In cycling mode If I set on 28°, temperature falls to 26°, rises to 29°, shuts off, goes to 32.5° engine, restarts and comes down again to 26° But, I want exactly to shut off at 28° and restart at 32°, not low, not over
Easiest way is to switch it to "Fuel Hog", set your temp, then switch to continuous. Once loaded and you pull off the door and the doors are closed, then switch it back to the normal intelliset you need.
One thing Mark forgot to mention is that your doors have to be shut during this process in order for unit to reset itself. At least that's been my experience with Prime trailers.
you can program it with the doors open I'm a prime driver 7500 or nothing their program with the doors open or closed so what would be the purpose if the doors are closed think about it
No they don't. The entire process is done while ur at a dock with the doors open. In fact Mark's video is one way to do it. There's a slightly different way also.
cool video right! let your own equipment running for free put the hours on your $70,000 reefer burn diesel . just to make them happy . .... till lazy Johnny or Tyrone or Jose start doing their job.... u ppl funny just ucking funny
The door switch isn't about saving fuel It's about saving the box temperature. Swinging those doors open sucks in 3000 CFM of outside air and that slams the evaporator trying to keep the unit cool. You should shut the reefer unit off before you ever open the doors.... The door switch is essentially a dummy switch for people that don't know that
4 years later and this video still saving lives. Thanks man! (Works on 2020 models btw)

This works for if your unit is on continuous lock as well.
please show us how to override the new s-700

Same issue here.
Is this for the unit to stay on with doors open or to turn off with doors open? please help!!
Thanks so much that help me a lot right now 👏👏👏👏
my dad is a truck driver and he once drove for Crete and I seen a Crete trailer
Thanks sir you really helped me out
You the man!
Sooo how do you turn off the ones that won't turn off🤔
My refer runs continuously even when I have it set to start/stop. Once it gets down to the set temp, the heater kicks in for some reason and brings it up, and then the cool kicks on when it gets too warm.
It needs a shop visit. Sounds like there is a temp sensor or programming issue.
You just saved our butts.

If your Carrier Unit is "locked" on Start/Stop, is there away to open it to Continuous??
Yes
How please
Thank you sir you are a life saver
You're welcome.
Just used on another load I did great video
you are amazing!!!!! great vodeo and so helpful!!
💯 thanks
THANK YOU!!!!!!

Take u mark... I might be going to refer soon dry van getting lil dry
How do you put it in Continuous when it’s on Start and stop lock
Easiest way is to switch it to "Fuel Hog", set your temp, then switch to continuous. Once loaded and you pull off the door and the doors are closed, then switch it back to the normal intelliset you need.
Just use the fuel hog or produce sensitive settings which run in continuous mode.
Thanks a bunch Mark!

door switch always fail, not a good thing to have....save fuel? ahah no way
and the video that youre showing is only with the carrier ''apex'' system....let's try this with the ''advance'' or the ''summit''
