    Just catching up on your vids. I remember this day so well...endless cornfields and SO much rain. Was absolutely soaked through it just was ridiculous, but found that warm and inviting church in Miramont-Sensanq to dry off a bit. Those are the things you remember on the camino.

    Another gorgeous day Efren. Neither the countryside nor the village disappoint.

    Efren, the dessert was not 'liquid cheese', it was 'fromage blanc', which literally translates into 'white cheese', and is closer to cottage cheese or cream cheese. France and Italy have lots of 'soft' cheeses similar to the US cottage cheese version. The French version is like fresh cottage cheese in which whey (remaining liquid after curdling) is drained but the curd is not pressed due to which a certain amount of whey is left in it. It's also called fresh cheese, Quark (Germany and Netherlands), Ricotta in Italy and Queso blanco in parts of Spain. Yummy ... I love the diversity of food in Europe ;-)

    Efrén once again you never disappoint!! I just love the difference in Cultures; France showing all the small towns and Churches together indeed with the Corn Fields which reminded me of course as you rightly said; the Meseta! I am really enjoying this series from the bottom of my heart! I just love the differences in European Culture (although) the language diffences are some times challenging! Thanks for taking us along! ¡Buen Camino y Salud!

    You seem to long for the Pyrenees and Spain? I love every day of your hike. I am a fan of trees and I was amazed by the green-leaved trees around the square. That lime green color is usually a spring thing.

    Good morning! Are you using your Insta 360 inside the churches? Are you using it also for walking on the paths shooting you from behind and in front or is that your drone operating? Thanks! Safe trek on the TMB! Buen camino!

    And, you start with a Bowie quote, so I immediately get emotional. 😆🥰One of my favorite quotes from him!
    I can feel the Pyrenees getting closer! Did you film at all after SJPP? I think it's well deserved if you just walked that last stretch to Logrono and didn't work at all, but if you did shoot something, can we see a little bit of it? 😁This vlog is so, SO good, Efren. Muchas gracias!

      Thank you Susan. I filmed up to Puente la Reina with the intention to film all the way to Logroño but it rained every day after that.

    Hi very anxious to start the gr in August…just a random question: the best sox that you have used on the trails? Your French Canadian friend

    • @Walk_with_Efren
      @Walk_with_Efren  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Daniel, I only use darn tough sox for all my hikes and expeditions. They have a lifetime warranty.

    Hi Efren, does the bank card you use charge foreign transaction fees? If not, what kind of card is it & they who? Thanks!

    • @Walk_with_Efren
      @Walk_with_Efren  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does. I use my PayPal debit card for everything. This is where the donations from my followers are deposited. But I now have the aviator credit card from American Airlines and it doesn't charge me the international fee.

    I've enjoyed this vlog series so much, thank you. This has been my escape from stressful work days. Out of interest, your backpack looks like it is a Gossamer Gear one? I If it is, what has your experience been wearing it? We're walking the Frances from SJPDP in September and I've just bought my husband a GG backpack (Gorilla 50) as he gets knee problems and needs a lighter backpack than the Osprey one he wore on the Ingles.

      So glad tou are enjoying the series. Yes I have a gossamer gear mariposa 60. Too big for the camino, especially since I used a luggage transfer service but it's what I had. I love the big pockets all around. On my next expedition to Nepal I'm taking an Osprey as you can't beat the ventilation on those backpacks.

      @@Walk_with_Efren I thought you might be using the Mariposa 60! Thanks for your insights and your observations about ventilation are interesting. Weight vs ventilation is a tricky balance. Are you going to be doing the Everest base camp trek in Nepal? Your drone will busy - the landscape is breathtakingly stunning from YT videos I have seen.

      Yes I'll be doing Everest Basecamp as well as Annapurna

    I am surprised you only carry 0.5 litre of water. Nothing wrong with carrying wine but our trick is too transfer it to a plastic water bottle so it is a lot lighter
