Detachment was such a good movie if the school system failed you. I couldn’t read for a long time and non of the teachers I had noticed it, I was just floating threw grades in 8th grade with a third grade reading level. I progressed my reading skills because I saw that Bella Thorne commercial on Disney channel with her talking about her dyslexia, so I started asking people what different words said and reading them when I saw them, I read 103 books last year and have a good amount of first class and signed books by my favorite authors and books flooding my bookshelf.

This past year and then some I’ve struggled to feel happy, I don’t know what to do, and I’ve been in consistent pain every day. It’s just now that I’ve realized that pain is the only thing that’s going to be there for you throughout your entire life. It greets me in the morning, spends some time with me in the afternoon, and when it’s night time it comes to say goodbye. It’s been reaching out to me all this time and it’s just now that I’ve started to shake its hand, get to know it better, and really appreciate it. It’s the only real friend I have now. I suggest you shake its hand too because it’s pretty crazy how much pain can be there for you.
I do also listen to electronic music made for female teenagers while masking my emotional weaknesses with fictional psychopath middle aged males. This is literally me.

I'm a 33 (almost 34) year old single father. I feel like this when my son has his breakdowns because of his mom walking out. I can't fix his pain and in turn, hurts my soul because he's my boy and he doesn't deserve this.
I was raised by a single dad and my mom wasn’t around. Stay strong man you got this.
My mom walked out on my dad, my brother and me. This was an incredibly difficult time in my life and I still struggle with the consequences. But I want to stay strong for my father and make him proud (although he says he already is). There is nowhere else to go than forward. We have to work hard in order to lift each other up.
You're doing your best as you should but an unfortunate fact is that life will eventually grind him down for his sin was being born a man.
The sad truth is, one day everyone we love will be gone. Your son sadly got a taste of it at a young age, but it is inevitable to get hurt. The best you can do is to be the best dad you can be. Everything will be good in the end. You just have to believe in it with your entire being.
The fact that you are concerned already shows that your a great parent you got this man, and don't let anyone tell you different.

It's great to see Jax Teller on this list. My mom had a crush on him before she passed and since she was a fan of bikes and hung around a lot of clubhouses, she'd tell me the other ladies named their kids after Jax because the show was so impactful on the motorcycle culture.

Ik most people take this “literally me”/“sigma” ironically, but relating to these characters really helps me cope with hardships in the real world. They’re literally me.
I also unironically relate to these characters, albeit I'm not doing the crazy shit they do (Fight Club and Drive, for example) but I do get that feeling of me being alone.
