Ok this is a perfect conversation for my Blood Hunter to have with him, he’ll accept more power if it gets him closer to his goals, but he’s become more attached to the Spawn than he ever wanted to, pitying him instead of slaying him whenever he first got the chance to spring his trap on Astarion, luring him in, not telling him he already knew what he was. You can tell the relief in his voice after you call him sweet. That he knows why you are saying it and you seem to be taking back the words of leaving him.

He's so loving, sweet and supportive here. And so emotional, even when he's still trying to default back to his instinctive flippant sass. When he says that he'd probably still get more looks than Tav, and how not enough people mention how beautiful he is, he sounded like he was on the verge of tears. The relationship nearly ending really shook him up a lot more than he let on. His knee jerk reaction to blame himself for the relationship nearly ending shows how much trauma he still has surrounding a real love and a real relationship.

I honestly hate that the beautiful and tonally optimistic "I Want To Live" instrumental plays in the background for this... Or for any other Ascended Astarion scene, if it does, for that matter 😭 It's so off putting and detached from the mood and the message of what's happening

The main problem i can see in this game is that there's only a limited number of party members to choose from. I see how that cant be helped, but still when a game is made this good you start to think of ways it could make it even better.

He could have been like "I love you, i just can't safely touch you, maybe this relationship won't work out :("
